Really enjoyed our stay

Really impressed with the room, space, and facilities. Location was short walk from beach and places in Sanur.

Not a 4-star hotel

Relaxing atmosphere and pool, spacious rooms. Not far from the main road and only 10 minutes walk from the beach.

They cancelled my reservation (which I had made months in advance) and only after spending two days on the phone I was able to reconfirm it. The hotel did not do anything to make up for this. We booked a room with a sofa bed for our son, so the housekeeping prepared it but only with sheets on the mattress, they said that if we wanted the sofa-bed to be properly made with covers and everything, we would need to pay an additional price. The room was full of mosquitoes. The maintenance team did some repair works, which made the water in the bathroom completely dark for one afternoon. The shower is outdoors so if you want to take a shower in the evening you have to cope with all the insects.

Fulfills its promises

A quiet and secret villa in the heart of Sanur. Villas are comfortable and clean, with large private swimming-pool in a tiny garden. The shared swimming-pool is generous and its small restaurant delivers good and affordable food.

Important for families: you must know that the 2 rooms are not communicating, so it might be difficult for young kids to stay alone in one room/building.

Unsure why this was rated at over 9, overpriced and unmaintained

The staff were very nice and helpful.

The property wasn’t clean. The bed linen and towels were very warn out and a dirty grey colour. The bathroom was filthy and stunk like a sewage pit. Certain parts of the toilet had dried faeces on it. We had to ask staff to clean it and it was an improvement. It should have been clean on arrival. We bought blue toilet blocks to put in the cistern to help with the smell. The bathroom shower gel pumps were covered in dust and dirt and the mirror was filthy. The deck surrounding the pool was rotten and lifting as you walked on it. Nails were raised and was unsafe. It was grossly overpriced at $200 a night and we left to a better hotel after 5 nights for $100 a night with breakfast.

Very good

Very welcoming and helpful staff. Lovely and quiet villas only a few minutes away from the hustle and bustle of Sanur. Our room was very spacious and comfortable.

Facilities are a bit tired but nothing major.

Very clean and comfortable rooms and beautiful gardens. Perfect for quiet and relax mode for families or couples! Great location very close to Naksa Warung and Old Brick. Staff couldn't be friendlier 😀 10/10

The leather lounge outside was a strange choice for the hot Bali weather. the French toast on the first day was amazing but the pancakes on the second weren’t great.

A very nice villa, with restaurants and cafes within walking distance.

The villa to which we were assigned was well appointed: working AC, a rather large bedroom, excellent mattress, clean new bedsheets, TV, good room lighting, very good outdoor shower, double basins in the bathroom, well stocked toiletries, conveniently located electric sockets, excellent WiFi, very helpful and friendly staff. But we didn't try the restaurant, because there were just too many cafes, restaurants and a convenience store within walking distance!

There were many one step inclines that senior guests would need to be aware.

The Villas were very clean and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and obliging.

The villas are very roomy and clean. The outdoor shower is different. The garden, grounds in general and pool are are very clean.The small restaurant offers a nice basic breakfast. The staff are very friendly, obliging and courteous.

After torrential rain the grounds were flooded. You were required to walk through ankle deep water for a day or so. The beach, shops and restaurants are awkward to get too and a long distance to walk.

We stayed in a villa with a private pool. It was beautiful! So much space to relax, and it felt very private. We had our breakfast delivered to the villa, you could choose from western and Indonesian options, with fresh fruits, juice and coffee, it was delicious! The villa is a quick walk to the main street and beach, and there are so many restaurants and bars to choose from. The staff were so welcoming, and helped us with everything we needed, they felt like old friends instantly! I can’t recommend Katala enough, and I can’t wait to visit again! :-)

Lovely place with lovely hosts

We loved this place having stayed there for 9 days in total. The staff were friendly and attentive, the room was beautiful, and the location was perfect. Just around the corner from the main road in Sanur but in a quiet tucked away spot away from the hustle and bustle. Matteo and Lea hosted us like family and made the check in, our stay, and the check out wonderful. Would definitely recommend.

Be careful of the bugs as this is Bali so take bug spray!

Very comfortable and enjoyable stay at Katala villas and suites

very good suits, pool villas are nicely designed and maintained The garden in the property is beautiful.Breakfast is good. Staff at reception, dining and housekeeping are very friendly, cooperative and helpful. We had great stay for three nights and would like to come back again.

it’s like family there

it was very private and also the location was amazing. so so far from the beach but not too close so you can avoid the noises from the beach

I don’t think it’s just this hotel. there were lots of bugs in the bathroom. every morning I have to see at least 10 dead ones

Spectacular place with extraordinary service

The place. Katala Villas is a place where I would definitely come back when decide to come back to Bali. The facilities and villa are decorated in the spirit of Bali. The place is spotless with everything you need . it offers delicious breakfast. it is in the heart of Sanur but in the same time super calm and secluded. The people I don’t thing the words would be enough to describe the level of service. Special thanks to Rika who was with us in each step. We had arranged transfer from the airport where we met Dedek who also was our private guide for couple of days ahead showing Bali’s best places. Rika also arranged for us round trip to Gili T making sure that everything will go smooth and well. Bali is a great place indeed but what actually makes it special are the Balinese people such as Rika and Dedek

Awesome time at Katala Villas

We had a great time at Katala Villas. We stayed for more than a week. The location is great, it's quiet but at the same time close to many restaurants, cafés, and shops (10min by walk). The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Once we got invited to fry bananas with them. We regularly got free fresh fruits and nuts. They were so kind and installed a drinking water dispenser in our room since we stayed for longer (otherwise you can get free drinking water at their restaurant). The pool was really nice, our room was spacious and clean. Well-Functioning AC. Room comes with a small fridge.

Wifi was not the strongest.

Great place to stay in Sanur, the one bedroom villa was awesome, easy short walk lots of restaurants, bars, money changer etc and amazing staff, would definitely recommend 😊
