Wonderful stay, host was very welcoming and accommodating and assisted with making bookings, getting lift tickets, and recommending where to eat. The breakfast at the property is exceptional value and the fresh fruit that was included was very welcome and delicious. The Onsen at the property was also very convenient, as was the robe provided. 15min walk into the centre of town, and 4 mins to the closest ski lift. I would recommend this property and stay again.
Nothing, this property exceeded expectations.

The owner is so friendly! My partner got injured, and he was very careful with him, pick him up at the hospital, arrange a meal for the evening, and gave us a guest room while waiting for our bus back (beyond the check up). Highly recommended place!
Announcement in the morning, through the speaker is a bit loud.

Excellent hospitality. The host is very friendly and helpful and gives a helpful welcome/ guide/ recommendations etc. The breakfast is very large and excellent value. The on site onsen is an added bonus. It is a short walk from the centre but still has many restaurants in close proximity (and much better value than those in the centre). The owner also kindly picked us and dropped us of at the bus stop. :)

Everything about this hotel is awesome. If you want an authentic Japanese experience with a super friendly and helpful host I would really recommend this hotel to you.
The location is great, the rooms are clean and comfortable, the onsen downstairs is great, I could keep on going, its all superb.
Nothing could be better, its a great place.

The owner is nice and very helpful, especially with skirental and stuff like that.
The place is a bit dated, but when you get home from a day on the slope it doesn't matter that much.

The host is very kind, he let us check in as soon as we arrived (11am) and got us our ski lift tickets with discount. There is a free shuttle that stops less than 1min from the hotel so we didn't need to walk to the slopes. We also got a lot of helpful information regarding food options nearby.
They have a loud speaker that they use to announce when breakfast and dinner are ready. Breakfast is at 7:30 so that might be a bit early to wake up for some :) it was unusual but we didn't mind as we were waking up early anyway.

This pension is managed with warmhearted hospitality for the no-nonsense traveler who likes a vintage style authentic environment. Don't skip the Japanese breakfast and follow the host's excellent tips for dining around this hotel. The terrific Nozawana Onsen public hot baths are nearby.
I liked every bit of this pension but if you come in winter and want to be close to the main starting points for skiing this pension is not ideally situated. You need to access the ski circuits with a bus. It takes you 15 mins to the Gondola and ticket center. Nozawa Onsen is very small though and even on the outskirts of the village it won't take you more than 20 minutes to cross the town in any direction.

Reception is super warmhearted.
It will be better to have a coin laundry machine.

very basic yet friendly & value-for-money family run ryokan. Nice & hot real onsite onsen; saved us walking out in the cold to public onsen. The owner is very attentive & accommodating. He goes all out to help eventhough he doesn’t speak English but thanks to his best PA called Google Translate!
shared toilets and wash basins in the hallway. Do ask for rooms on 3rd floor.

The customer service and attention given were the best we ever had!! They shared with us discounts at the inn for the ski resort and also gave recommendations on the best onsen, local insights, and also drove us over when we were almost late for catching the bus. They went above and beyond and for that, I will give Kadowakikan a 6 out of 5 star review! FYI they have wifi too and the beds were comfy (FYI I like that they clean the rooms really well too and there's a good view of the mountains from our side!)

The accommodation was pretty good and clean. Breakfast was pretty good, you have to get use to a bit of Japanese flavour. The Onsen was good and there wern't a lot of people staying when we were there. The host was very helpful with information.
There wasnt much to not like, you must be use to sleeping on futons.

Excellent location, close to the ski lifts and a short 15 minute walk into the main street of Nozawa Onsen. Very good service. Traditional Japanese room was large and comfortable with a stunning mountain view. Futon beds were great. Good value for money.
The building looks old and dated, but everything was clean and tidy. Would definitely stay again.
