The guy attending the pool the last days we where there was extremely helpful, also in terms of providing suggestions for reasturants etc.
Breakfast is really good. Pool area is nice - get a room close to this area.
The first room we got had mold stains on a lamp and smelled really unhealthy. Staff said it was just moist - which was not true (see attached picture). After complaining to booking.com they upgraded us to a suite which was nice though and near the pool.
After breakfast in the morning there was no other food options (most days because of shortage of staff) and hence the rooms needs a refrigerator if that is the case, especially when traveling with a child. Staff told us we could use the refrigerator by the reception but changed their mind about that during our stay.
Cleaning could also go up a notch as there were old cigarettes from previous guest and this wasn’t cleaned while we were there.

Amazing location, the hotel is very well located, the staff are absolutely lovely and very helpful. The swimming pool is great (and the bar is a bonus), the whole lot feels very homely and classy.
The breakfast is INCREDIBLE.
The buildings are sparkling clean, smell good and are decorated with taste.
Do not hesitate, it's a great place to wander about the island.
The ONLY thing I would say is that the room's door could've been a little bit thicker for more privacy. That was not an issue at all during our stay, but the doors are rather thin.

The staff was amazing and very accommodating, the property was beautiful, the bed super comfy and the breakfast delicious. The chef even made us special food to accommodate out dietary restrictions. 💛

I can’t say enough good things about Quinta da Abelheira. Margarida made us feel at home and went out of her way to ensure we were comfortable. We loved her!! The breakfast spread was wonderful, with many delicious options. The location is central to the airport, the center of Ponta Delgada, and is easily accessible to sites like Furnas and Sete Cidades. I would love to come back here again and spend more time exploring the island.

Pool was lovely. Hotel and surroundings very clean. Breakfasts were delicious with a large selection of familiar foods plus tasty local foods. Enjoyed homemade cakes, cookies and breakfast items such as quiche and yogurt.
While it’s great to conserve electricity, the steps up to the room remained dark until I reached the 2nd or 3rd step.
