A comfortable place with character in a great location.

Great location at the very top of the hill steps away from the castle. Superb view over the city and the river from the patio next to the swimming pool. Orange trees and flowers just outside the door. The suite called Casa Azul is on the lower level (probably the kitchen) of what would have been a seriously upscale mansion 100+ years ago. It's not large but it has been renovated in a way that preserves its character. The owner, who lives upstairs, was very friendly and helpful. An excellent restaurant, the Cafe Ingles, is also at the top of the hill about five minutes walk away. Great food and a great jazz trio on Sunday. Book ahead. There is free parking just off the street between Casa Azul and the castle. It can be pretty full and the ramp up is very steep (no visibility as you reach the crest). We explored the town on foot and got groceries from the supermarket near the river. Good for the quads.

Wonderful place to stay in the heart of Silves

Quintal do Castelo has a fantastic location at the top of Silves town with beautiful views overlooking the cathedral, castle and town. Loved the garden and pool which are rare amenities in the middle of Silves. An oasis of calm and beauty! And thanks to Nicolaine, who greeted us and was very helpful throughout our stay.

A great alternative to boring apartments or hotels, feels like home.

Traditional historic property with amazing views and sublime pool and garden. Best location!

can be warm overnight on the hottest days, but then it is The Algarve!

Great value for money in a great area of Silves. Having a pool overlooking the town on a boiling hot day was a delight. Teresa was very accommodating and has the place setup wonderfully for our stay.

Excellent location with a few drawbacks.

Excellent location, Portuguese feel and refreshing pool amenities. Also lovely to arrive to fresh fruit, vinho and even milk for the children.

The property is beautiful, though not as well maintained. The grounds were a bit overgrown on walk ways, linens were rough and loungers were falling a bit apart. Additionally, there is no AC or fans provided, the roofs creaked throughout the evenings and the checkin was a bit confusing. With a little TLC this property could be absolutely magnificent.

Wonderful location, extremely warm welcome, beautiful houses and grounds. Just perfect!

We were made to feel extremely welcome and we thought the house and garden area was just beautiful. The views are wonderful from the top bedroom and the children loved picking oranges from the trees in the garden for fresh juice every morning. The central location is fabulous for all coffee shops, restaurants and amenities. We all loved it and none of us wanted to leave.

That our stay was only 1 week! We would come back for 2 weeks or more next time.

A Real Gem

We love the location and privacy at Quintal do Castelo. It was very central, the garden & pool was delightful and the accommodation was charming & had everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable. We really enjoyed meeting Nicolaine, our hostess, who was more than willing to assist us with anything we might need. Definitely down for a repeat visit.

Not clean or comfortable.

There was no breakfast. Orange trees and garden very pretty.

Place was filthy. Kitchen not fully equipped: no microwave and stove did not work. Owner gave us a toaster oven. Cleaned the place ourselves on arrival. The host knew we were coming months before we arrived, but nothing was made ready. Bathroom measured 4 feet X 6 feet. Towels had long blond hair on them, so not sure if they were changed from last occupant. Very uncomfortable stay.

Little paradise

Everything was great. We had an amazing time in this little oasis and the view from the terrasse is fantastic.

Amazing house in a beautiful town, the perfect place to relax.

The house and the garden are amazing, we immediately felt like being home. It was a great experience.

The town is extremely quiet, there are only a few places to go to eat, and nothing stays open for too long.

A wonderful place to enjoy the view of the city

Beautiful oasis in the middle of Silves. The small kitchen is equipped with everything you need. WiFi is better than in some hotels. Grocery stores and small restaurants are within a 3-10 minute walk.

The double bed could be a little wider
