Very good

The hostel located on the hill which is 10 mins walking from the Old town. As i dont mind climbing on the hill everyday, I love that peaceful location, especially the stunning view from the balcony. There is a washing machine that you can use with a little fee ( CNY 10 per time I think ). Price is cheap and Staffs are very nice.

- The shared WC was sometimes smelly. - Staffs are nice but they don’t speak English :(. However, it is understandable as u hardy find anyone who can speak English in Yunan.

This was a great stay. Tom the owner and his brothers were super hosts. the hostel was empty when i arrived, so tom gave me even better service. He even took me on his scooter with his little doggie to nearby villages. he was able to advise me on where to go and how to do different things in lijiang. he also invited me to have dinner each night with his family or friends. the bed was really comfy and warm. The water was very hot. the room was very big. the hostel is about a ten minute walk from old town, but its far enough away to be quiet for a nice rest at night. I will definitely be back to visit tom and his family in the hostel.

everything was good! lijiang is a little cold in the winter, i had no idea! ;D

The Owner was really friendly and helpful. The place is clean, spacious, good location. I liked the atmosphere there. Definitely recommend for both solo travelers and traveling with friends.

I would highly recommend to stay at Tom's!

Tom is a great host! It is easy to communicate with him since he can speak English. He explained and gave me the instructions to get to his place. The location is close to the old town but far enough to be calm and relaxed. Also, it is very close to the Elephant Hill hike. In addition, Tom gave me detailed information about the Tiger Leaping George hike, which was very useful!!! While I was there, there were not many other guests, so it was really quiet!!

In general it's good, but could be better.

Tom, the owner is very nice and try his best to help you. The location, besides being at the top of a hill, it's pretty good.

It was not very clean. The bedsheets looked a little filthy and the toilet could be better as well.

Exceptional

The place is famous for its hospitality for a reason. Owner Tom helped me go to the tiger leaping gorge and organize my luggage in the end of the trek. He speaks good English and can help you with anything. Dorm beds are made of wood with curtains, lamp, heating and a plug. Showers have hot water. Also good common area/yard to hangout. Very peaceful at night time. I would definitely stay here again! If you don't speak chinese but you want to explore Yunnan this is a great place to start!

Superb

Excellent bohemian style hostel. As others have mentions the host Tom is awesome and will go out of his way to guarantee you make whichever expeditions you choose on time. Also there is tasty home-cooked food and beer.

Great!

We booked this hostel the night before doing tiger leaping gorge. Tom was so so helpful. He informed us in advance that we needed a covid test (saved us having to delay by a day), and gave us the location of a hospital. He booked us the bus to tiger leaping gorge, walked us down to it, and communicated with the driver to drop our big bags at Tina’s. At points along the hiking route we weren’t sure which direction to go, so I sent a picture to Tom and he told me the correct direction!

Highly recommended!

Very clean and cute room, pretty spacious, I stayed with a friend in a twin room. There is a nice rooftop, too. The place is near ancient town. Breakfast was nice. And the host Tom is a very friendly and nice person! He helped us a lot, too.

Nice service and experience

The hostel is in a perfect location. Close to the Lijiang Old Town and Elephant Hill (perfect mountain to get the view of Lijiang City). Mr. Tom, the owner of the hostel, can help to give you some advice about which place to go and how to go.

Great place in Lijiang

Cute and cosy hostel with a lot of character in Lijiang. Owner Tom from Chongqing speaks English is super friendly and willing to help with directions or instructions to various places. He's also a great cook. You have to walk 10 minutes to the old town but it's not a big deal and the hostel is certainly good value for money. WiFi works very well. Hot water is excellent.

The beds were comfy, and the location of the hostel is far removed from the city centre if you're travelling by foot. Staff are pleasant although they did seem slightly unorganised.

The location on Google maps is incorrect. I booked a 6 bed dorm online and when I got there they told me it was fully booked and could instead pay more for a 12 bed dorm. They later agreed to have the 12 bed dorm at the same rate as the 6 - not the bargain I was hoping for.

Very nice hostel in dark area

Rooms: clean, curtains and light in every bed. Toilets: very clean, western style Food: tasty breakfast in good price Staff: good English, very helpful. He showed how to get to main attraction for free

Located up the hill. It was very difficult for driver to find this hostel. When I was going back from center late evening there were a lot of drunk people on the way back and no light on the streets. I would not stay here next time because of location. Owner very helpful but asked about location of some objects he didn't want to show on online maps because he prefers traditional map. It was annoying because traditional maps are completely not clear and in a wrong scale.
