Jonathan was such a wonderful host. Always available if we needed something, even a bottle of wine!

The location in the orchard was fantastic. Close to town but so quiet.

The load shedding made it difficult to always have everything working. We didn’t like it but we don’t blame the host for that

Our host was knowledgeable and passionate about their property, their town and what it has to offer. Their advice was sound. The cottage was crisp and clean.

picturesque farm stay

a great location if you want to be a little out of Franschhoek’s Main Street and little more in the farm land. The farm is picturesque, with beautiful views of the mountains and surrounds. A very comfortable cottage with everything you need. Really enjoyed the fact that it was plum season and we could pick some to eat and enjoy.

The water pressure in the shower was lower than we are used to, but we managed.

Secluded location. Delightful orchard farm setting; could swim in the dam. Back-up power a big bonus during load shedding.

An absolute repeater for us, we loved this for its peace and the way it works with rather than against nature.

We absolutely loved the feeling of being just a little at one with the environment. so much of Franschhoek is sanitized ‘little Europe'. this isn’t exactly wild, but feels very comfortable and that the owners are of good heart.

Look, it’s a little out of town- we probably wouldn’t walk it in the dark, and it’s not terribly refined. we didn’t want that anyway.

Beautiful quiet place to stay in Franschoek

We enjoyed our stay in cottage Heron very much. The bed was comfortable and the rooms were clean . The fruit farm is beautiful you can pick your own fruit. There is a lake where you can swim . The owners are very friendly. I hope we can come back one day.

Lovely vibe, eco-friendly, quiet, well-placed, very clean, comfortable bed. Lovely bathroom. Location just right.

Farm is lovely. Cottage needs maintenance - blown kitchen globe, tepid water, kitchen cupboard doors rickety.

the gem of Franshoek!

the hosts were absolutely amazing! we were treated like family. the location is also perfect. you are far enough not hear any noise yet close enough to Franshoek to be within 5 minute ride by car. this is a self catering property but the hosts make sure you are all good. simply couldn’t have asked for more. best way to spend New Year ever!

Exceptional

La Verdure Fruit Farm is in a beautiful and tranquil area of Franschhoek, and much closer to the wine farm activity than we thought. The hosts were extremely hospitable encouraging us to explore the farm and surrouds and help ourselves to the delicious plums. The welcome drink of Jonathan's own plumb brandy was very special.

There was nothing to dislike, all was as or better than expected

serene peaceful stunning nature and flowers we had a ball

Amazing. We went as a group of 6 friends booking two cottages. they were both lovely but the position of Trout cottage was incredible. we really enjoyed kayaking and swimming . Jonathon was the best host I have met and such a warm welcome. It’s perfect for any occasion. absolutely beautiful and we already planning to book again for March. A very special place.

Strongly recommended. Away from the town buzz, relaxing and laid back. A must try!

Thanks to Jonathan for the warm welcome, he made us feel easy and at home rapidly. So helpful, kind and welcoming. We stayed in the Trout cottage, which was exceptional, peaceful and so relaxing. Highly recommended.

Hard to find anything except maybe for the absence of a safe to keep valuables. Although, we felt safe at all times.

location, location, location.

Nothing. Everything is lovely and the kitchen is fully kitted out even with a Nespresso coffee pod machine. decor a little outdated but that’s if I really have to look for something to say.
