Welcome to Ocean Harbor and "The Turquoise Jay"! This two-bedroom, two-bath top floor condo was remodeled in Dec '19 and has everything you need for a spectacular family vacation. You will find updated flooring throughout, spacious bedrooms, well-equipped kitchen with a Keurig and regular coffee maker, and a living room that leads out to the cozy deck with views of the ocean. So, take your morning coffee out on the deck and enjoy the sounds of the island. In the primary bedroom, you’ll find a Queen bed facing the window that looks on to the canal, a 32-inch flat screen television, and a private bathroom. The guest bedroom has a pyramid bunk bed (Double with Twin above and Twin trundle below) and plenty of room for fun activities along with a view of the Canal! Whether you order in or cook your meals in the fully-equipped kitchen, there’s plenty of room at the dining table for the whole family. Stay up-to-date on your favorite news programs or television shows on the 47-inch, flat screen TV while you relax on the comfy couch. Ocean Harbor is a condo complex on the North end of Carolina Beach, conveniently located between Canal Drive and Carolina Beach Ave with easy access from either roadway. Ocean Harbor is second row to the sound and third row with a community pool and near two public beach accesses just steps away! "The Turquoise Jay" is the perfect mixture of comfort and modern, and is economically priced - we guarantee you’ll want to return year after year. It is only a short walk to the Carolina Beach Fishing Pier Northern Extension, a few steps to the beach, and to Freeman Park -- one the few places left to drive out onto the beach. While you are at Carolina Beach during the summer make sure to visit the Boardwalk, it has fun for all ages and no one should go home without trying Britt's Donuts. The NC Aquarium is opened all year and Downtown Wilmington is always exciting to visit. Make your plans today and see all that Carolina Beach has to offer. *Please keep in mind that if you are renting a property with a pool during the off-season, it may not be open or available. Pools are usually open from mid- May to September, but dates can vary based on weather, permits, HOA guidelines, inspections, improvements, and unforeseen events. The condo was really nice and clean. We loved the location as it was close to everything and the beach wasn’t overly crowded. The walk to the beach wasn’t far at all. If we could make any suggestion, it would be to add some digital clocks in the bedroom just so it’s easy to see what time it is. Also, be aware that this unit is at the very top corner of the building, so there are at least 4 levels with many stairs.

A nice quiet place
Very nice place to stay quite and feels homey, but could still feel dirt on the ground from previous renters. TV problems did contact manager said he would send someone no one ever came.

the condo itself was nice.. the complex was old, no elevator the stairs were a pain to walk to the third floor.. we didn't care for the town itself, everything seemed to be stacked on top of each other. we thought we were getting a ocean view and we did if we looked between 2-3 set's of building leaning over the rail.. the price was good, wouldn't have wanted to pay anymore..

Had a great vacation in Carolina Beach, condo was clean, roomy and everything was well taken care of. The only thing was I wish the property would allow golf cart rentals on premises. That might keep us from coming back to this property. But we had a wonderful time.

It was clean, which was a big deal for me and my family, had everything we needed for our stay, and it was quiet durning the night. The only recommendation, which is small, are some curtains that help block the light in the bedrooms. That would not keep me from staying here again, though. Great condo!

We had a very nice stay at the Blue Jay. We would return! The place was very clean and perfect size for our family of 3. It is very close to the beach. While it was nice being on the top floor, that was also a downside. Having a 2 yo and going up and down the stairs wasn’t ideal. We would have appreciated streaming services, or a DVD player to watch movies. Other than that, we had a great time and the place was as described.

We had a very nice stay at the Blue Jay. We would return! The place was very clean and perfect size for our family of 3. It is very close to the beach. The place was acceptable but it was missing a lot of items. There were only two small lamps in the master bedroom. All other lighting was provided by overhead lights. Only an old lumpy couch and kitchen chairs to sit in. We used the outdoor chairs inside. A few rugs would have been nice.

Everything was just like on the pictures. There was even more views over the marinas than expected. Really close to the beach in a great residential neighborhood with almost no traffic.

Nice house, parking not so nice.
Nice place house, very short walk to the beach. Which is a very nice beach as well. Only thing that could be better is the parking. Very small parking area and a couple days we had to use one of the outside guest parking because someone didn’t park correctly and we couldn’t get into our assign parking spot.

We had the best experience stating at this rental property!
We loved staying at this property this week!!! Everything went so well and was absolutely amazing! The furniture along with the appliances were fantastic! Everything was new and beautiful! The location was easy to get to the beach along with the boardwalk. We would stay here again! Thanks for a great stay!

Even though there were three days of unprecedented rain at the beginning of our rental week, we had a great stay. The unit was extremely clean and new. I think I may have been the first person to ever use the oven. Sometimes beach rental units have a funky mildew smell- but not this one! Pros: Top floor, keyless entry, nice open feeling on the deck, granite, great appliances, Ikea dishes and pots, large capacity washer in a separate laundry room, large dining table for games, good water pressure with hot water, very close to two beach accesses with sand. Cons: some road noise from Canal Road, covered parking was very very tight and hard to get in and out of even with my Outback, there were no directions on how to use the remotes for the cable/TV, and the only real view is of a tad of the harbor from the top bunk (which I did not care about). This was more affordable than ocean view or ocean front properties and Clam Shell access is two houses down. Overall it was a very nice condo and a decent value price wise.

Great Location / Very Clean and Newly Renovated Apartment
Loved the location! Such a short, easy walk to the beach, in a more quiet / less crowded area of Carolina Beach. Other reviews mentioned the 3 flights of stairs and the tight parking space; neither was an issue for us (with an SUV, we managed to get into the parking space fine). The apartment was newly renovated and very clean. We found zero signs of dirt / grime / etc. Overall we were very happy and pleasantly surprised with the apartment and would rent it again!
Only complaint was that the management company, Bryant Real Estate, was slow to respond to an email. It was not an emergency so I didn't call their weekend/after hours number. But I wanted to inquire about a late check-out, so I emailed the day before and never received a response until well after the designated check-out time on the following day, so it was useless. I do wish the check in was earlier than 4pm and the checkout was later than 10am, as this was inconvenient for us on both ends.
Again, the apartment itself was excellent and we'd stay again!

Lovely form of exercise
This is a lovely condo in a great location. It was exceptionally clean, was within walking distance to the beach, and had a fantastic pool. We loved it and would happily stay again. Before booking please know that there are 60 stairs to get to the room. The parking is a little tight if you have a larger vehicle and checkout/check-in is a little strict. Otherwise, I would highly recommend.

Clean and Convenient
It was easy to swing by the real estate office and pick up the parking pass from their outdoor lockbox as we arrived on the island. The condo is extremely clean with new appliances and everything we needed for our stay. They do have two pans now, if you read earlier reviews. We have small vehicles, so parking was only tricky if the neighbors left their cars outside the garage. The beach access was a block away and easy to access. We would definitely stay here again!

We were very satisfied with our stay. We were sad that the beach closed but we did manage to walk in the sand and dip our toes in the water before it closed. Fully stocked so we were able to make meals. One suggestion would be to have an extra skillet. It was interesting doing breakfast. Other than that we enjoyed our stay and can't wait to return.

Absolutely beautiful
We stayed in this condo the view was perfect. The best part was spending time with our marine. We played board games and Uno for hours. We ordered dinner from Micheal Angelo's who delivered and its was fantastic. We also took a walk to the beach and Publix. We made dinner another night and on our final night went to Burrito Shak. The condo was fully stocked with everything we needed to make breakfast. I would suggest having another skillet though. We had to do scrambled eggs in a pot while we made sausage links in the skillet. Also maybe having a second pot holder for when baking. Other than that we had a blast.

From start to finish, this was a seamless transaction. The Blue Jay was very clean and one block from the ocean. So much better than a hotel room as we had a small kitchen and a big kitchen table to play board games as the weather and the coronavirus were both wreaking havoc at the time of our stay.

Pros: very clean, 2 bathrooms, nice sized bed rooms (2nd room could comfortably fit 4 children depending on age), well stocked kitchen, nice big table for dinners or games, less than 2 minute walk to beach access, well maintained and locked pool area. Cons: parking (we were told upon check in that trucks or cars may not be able to use the assigned parking space, there is a lot with 5 spots, but 3 are for compact cars only), response to issues was poor (We called Monday because that internet was out, and someone came out on Thursday, upon check out we were told there were issues with the keypad door lock, so keys were sent as well, we checked when we got there and the keys did not work, we called and were told they would get back to us, they did not, but luckily we were able to use the key pad). It is a third floor walk up.

The condo was very clean and beds/bathrooms were great. The furniture was comfortable. No street/traffic noise. Pool was terrific. Overall good place to stay. Seniors and parents with toddlers or small children would have some issues with the 48 steps to get to the top floor especially if they are carrying kids plus beach or pool toys/chairs. In addition, noises from adjoining units is an issue.

Facility was comfortable and roomy. Is not a bad walk to beach, but do not bring a large vehicle, as a compact is difficult to park in your designated spot. Ad said “fishing gear and beach gear in closet.” NOT THE CASE. View of beach and ocean shown in ad was from about a quarter mile away.

Ok. 3 flights of stairs... says it in description. We loved it as we don't mind stairs and getting exercise. That being said be sure not to book this for elderly or handicap. The parking is bad for this place if you have something other then a Sudan. My short bed Ridgeline truck could not make the turn in. Other then those two things we loved it. Placr has everything you need, clean and short walk to beach. Kids and Adults loved it. 5 stars.
