The welcome at the door was perfect as was the rest of our 2 night stay. The staff were so informative, helpful and friendly. There was 7 of us stopping and another 5 people joining us at various points of our celebratory weekend in Uttoxeter, and all of us were welcomed with a friendly smile. The evening food was absolutely mouth watering, at first glance it was a different menu to what we had expected when we booked but we were all pleasantly surprised at how amazing the food was. Compliments to the kitchen staff for presentation, speed of service, flavour and portion size ;-). Some of my party did partake in the breakfast, I was not one of them however I only was given good reviews of the choice and taste. As it was a race weekend we expected it to be busy and it was..... but this did not faze any of the staff they accommodated all of our party as if we were their only customers the service was faultless. We had been warned that due to the nature of the weekend throughout Uttoxeter it may be noisy through the evening/night however I can't say that this bothered us. The bar was open, as would be expected until around midnight, and yes it could be heard in our room but it is obvious with the style of building that the owners have done all they can to reduce noise heard in the rooms. This was nothing that I wouldn't expect from a property of this type. The rooms were comfortable and spacious, they looked as if they had been recently decorated, and I think this was a process that was on going at the time of our stay so we only saw a snippet of what's to come. I really can't wait to visit again and see what's in store. Good Luck to these guys and gals, they really deserve to succeed.

I've really tried to think of a negative that is worth mentioning but I really can't. The ownership of the property had changed since we had booked, so yes there were some changes to what we expected however everything that we encountered exceeded our expectations so I really can't say anything negative.

Stairs notsuitable for 67 year old. 🚿 in 🛁 not safe. No breakfast. No fan or air-conditioning .

Nice comfortable bed, clean and well appointed room, friendly staff, convenient location.

The stairs; the fact that I was a solo female traveller and nobody offered to help me with my luggage, nor did the receptionist bother to get up and hold open the outer door despite seeing me struggle with bags. Friendly staff but they need better customer service training. My room overlooked the car park, main hotel/bar entrance and a noisy outdoor drinking area, which thankfully closed before midnight.

Easy for needs

No shower gel etc.. seemed to be lack of staff, running a busy bar and the hotel - really noisy outside at night from outside drinkers - breakfast took ages, WiFi didn’t work, parking directions unclear..

Dinner was good although I did have to wait along time after finishing my main though before anyone came back to the table.

Room 1 backs onto an outside bar area and fronts the street. There was a very noisy group there until 1 in the morning who eventually moved from the seating area into the street under my window. On top of this there was the sound of muffled talking and music until 3 am. Not all the hotels fault but it was a terrible nights sleep given that I had to get up at 5.30 am. I wish I'd stayed at home and driven the extra 70 miles that morning. I did report the outside noise and terrible to staff in the morning.

It was located in a nice area, near everything and accessible free parking. The bed was clean and comfy.

The room smelt really bad and no windows that we were able to open, which also didn’t help because it was warm. The check in didn’t feel very warm/welcoming considering we put it was for a 21st birthday and checkout wasn’t great either. It also could have been cleaner, the bathroom floor was a bit dirty and there was cobwebs in the room. The walls are really thin and you can hear everything, it didn’t bother us but just something to be aware of if you are a light sleeper. Provided shampoo and conditioner but no body wash.

Rooms good size, great shower, comfy bed. Very friendly staff

Pillow bit lumpy. Took 1 x breakfast was OK.but no veggie option apart from yogurt and bit of fruit. In places rooms need some attention I.e. scrapes of wallpaper missing.
