Everything was perfect. The location is in a quiet neighborhood only about a 10-15 minute drive from the dock/downtown area should you want to walk around the main square in town (but practically right next door to Villa Irene is an unassuming, no-frills restaurant Marsala Pizzeria/Kronos Steakhouse which served, honestly, one of the best meals I have ever tasted ever). The hosts at Villa Irene were wonderful and accommodating; so friendly and very helpful. We arrived much later than we had planned due to road work & traffic coming from Taormina and actually had to leave a little earlier than planned due to some travel changes in the next town we were headed to, and they were absolutely gracious, very helpful helpful and charming hosts in every way. AND the breakfast in the morning was so delicious- so many options, such wonderful, fresh food. Here is a travel tip: if your GPS has a difficult time pinning down the exact location of Villa Irene as Google Maps did, enter in the Marsala Pizzeria/Kronos Steakhouse and Villa Irene is basically next door, about 200 meters away. Overall, it was a gorgeous place and a truly wonderful stay: I wish we could have stayed longer!

That the GPS had us going in circles for about 10 minutes and we finally called the hosts and they described the outside of the Villa with the white walls, and then we found it. But this was a GPS error- one we often found all over Sicily! The locations often never seemed to match up when we would enter in addresses just about anywhere in Sicily, so it's wasn't a unique occurrence with Villa Irene.

The owner is extremely gracious and helpful. He gives suggestions for our planned outings and restaurants. He personally escorted me to the hospital when I had an allergic reaction and stayed with us until the problem was solved.
