About this house rental
This property has been renovated and ideal for a couple or a small family. It has a queen bed(sheets are NOT provided), and pull out cot. The Lucky Buc adjoins the Buccaneer. There is a privacy fence separating the two, but a gate to open up if renting The Buccaneer with family or friends. We are located 0.1 mile from Zillie's, 0.3 mile from the Community Square on HWY 12 and 2.1 miles from the lifeguard beach. We do NOT post on Craigslist, so if you see it there it is not us renting it. We only go through VRBO/Home Away. We do not offer refunds for weather related cancellations, ferry issues or illness. We highly recommend that you purchase optional travel insurance. f you want to do early check in there is an additional $45 fee. It is extra added stress for our cleaners to have everything ready for those that get here on an early ferry. Normal check in time is 3:30 pm and check out time is 11:00. If you want to check out late it is a $100 fee.

This cottage was perfect for our long weekend stay on Ocracoke. Very clean and comfortable. Highly recommend! Host was quick and thorough with all communication. A great experience all around.

My dog and I enjoyed staying at the Lucky Buc. It was a comfortable oasis after a day at the beach. The cottage was very clean, and nicely decorated. It was a little too hot, and a little bit too many mosquitos to spend very much time out on the nice deck, but the enclosure was very nice for my dog. The outdoor shower was really great for washing off sandy feet and sandy paws before coming inside. AC worked well. Owners were very nice. I'll book again for next year.

We had a incredible time staying in this lovely home for a week. Was clean, private location, big deck, had pretty nature views, friendly and helpful owners, secure gate for fur babies & the outdoor shower was also incredible…truly couldn’t have asked for more! We will definitely rent the lucky buc in the future!

Super convenient to everything, had zero complaints about property. Pretty marsh view, easy parking, private and comfortable. Hosts were super easy to communicate with. Great find!

This cottage is very quaint and comfortable. It was very convenient to shopping and dining. The only downfalls are the alley and parking in the rear are not attractive and at first impression gave us the feeling of "Oh my god, what did we get into." The interior of the cottage reassured us though. The little deck had no view of anything but wasn't advertised as such either. Overall our stay was comfortable for a reasonable rate.

The cottage was perfect for my husband and I along with our Labrador “Squidder”. The deck was gated, perfect for the dog to enjoy being outside with us. The cottage had all the amenities. The convenience of being able to rent a golf cart is a nice option. Thanks for a wonderful weekend in Orcacoke The Hudsons’

We had a great stay here. The property was as described. It suited our needs perfectly (large enough for two and reasonably priced). The hosts are very friendly and helpful.

The owners are excellent first and foremost, they are accommodating and keep great communication.
The place was very clean, the ac was cold, and it was more than we expected inside. Not far from shops, the ferry or most restaurants. The deck was nice, the outdoor shower, though we didn't use it, looked great and modern.
You can expect visits from the dog, noodles, and it was honestly one of the highlights of our trip.
Wonderful experience, would stay again.

We have typically vacationed on Hatteras Island, but this year we decided to change it up and stay on Ocracoke and I'm so glad we did!
The Buc was the perfect spot for me and my husband. Excellent location. We could walk to most places we wanted to get to. We enjoyed the deck and the lounge chairs in the evening, and the outdoor shower after a day at the beach. We highly recommend this place and we hope to go back next year!

We really enjoyed this cute coastal cottage. It was perfect for our long weekend on Ocracoke. The furniture & bed were comfortable, location was quiet, & communication with the owners was great. We had a wonderful trip!

There were internet/phone issues on the island and the host replied to our message immediately.
Beautiful sunsets on the porch and plenty of wildlife this time of year.
Very dog friendly! Our dogs love this place.

Great stay!
This is a great option for a couple who will spend most of the trip outside the home. It has a lot of Ocracoke charm and the outdoor shower was amazing! The property was clean and comfortable. I did miss having a shady place outside to spend time before/after the beach.

Cozy & Cute
We loved this little cottage with our pups! The cottage is decorated very cute with subtle beach accents that don’t overwhelm. The outdoor shower is very handy as well. We brought our two pups and they felts right at home. We got to meet the neighbor pups as well and we loved Noodles visits 😊 Owners were very accommodating, equipped with rental golf carts and outdoor loungers for some R&R. Hope to be back again!

Just right for a couple
The Lucky Buc is small, but plenty adequate for two, with a kitchen, living area w/TV, bedroom w/TV, and large bathroom. The kitchen has full size appliances including a coffee maker. The AC worked well during the hot days, though the bedroom unit is a little loud cycling on/off during the night. It was very clean upon arrival and the outdoor shower helped us keep it clean. The neighboring units are close with tight, but adequate parking. Its within walking distance of the shops and restaurants.

I’ll probably stay here again because it’s one of the few semi affordable options that also allows dogs on the island.

We really appreciated the gate across the entrance stairs so our dog could enjoy the deck with us. It did get a bit noisy the last night when neighbors moved in, but that's on them! The interior was nice, really enjoyed it, but the exterior didn’t resemble the pics, pics showed more open area, parking, it rained the first two days while we were there and they had a major storm come through, the drive/parking area was yard/dirt. Mess

Conveniently located. Overall good. AC unit in the bedroom was very noisy and window covering see through. But we did enjoy our stay.
