The most friendly and available staff ever, in a very nice hotel: well positioned, well designed, and comfortable.

The room was cold at the beginning but the staff promptly provided a superb heater that completely fixed the problem.

We spent a delightful couple of days at the Zen Garden Hotel. The hotel is set in an idyllic part of Yangshuo, with stunning views over the local countryside and river. It is a lovely spot to get away from the hustle and bustle of Chinese city life. All the staff were amazing and truly wanted to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The food was delicious,mainly Chinese with locally sourced ingredients but the chef will cook some western food too if you ask them.

Loved everything about the place, wendy and her team are exceptional, they went out of their way to accommodate all of our requests.

The staff is incredible and friendly. The rooms were clean and the views from the hotel are impeccable. I loved their commitment to sustainability.

It is a bit away from the main attractions of the downtown walking area but nothing a quick Didi ride can’t solve. Breakfast doesn’t have many choices.

Breakfast was simple but delicious. Bed was very comfortable and we slept very well on the first night. Pay or ask for an upgrade to a room with a balcony because the view at this hotel is very beautiful. Fairly good location close to the main intersection of Yulong River and the main road, but also far enough from the main road that heavy traffic doesn't affect the small neighbourhood that the resort is located in. Some small shops, restaurants, and other guesthouses nearby.

The pool was very dirty so none of the guests were using it despite the good weather. Maybe it was just the onset of summer so it had not been cleaned since winter. Having a pool is basically what foreigners like myself who live in the northern part of China would pay for to sit in the Yangshuo sunshine. The price is a little steep for a small guesthouse like Zen, especially one without a functioning pool. At no fault of the hotel's, unfortunately it is located quite close to the area where helicoptor tours take off and land. This means that you can hear choppers non stop from 9am to sunset once your windows/balcony is open.

Exceptionally helpful and friendly staff, amazing location with awesome views, fabulous kitchen that never disappointed in taste or presentation.

It was our 4th time in Yangshuo and this hotel definitely became our favorite. Everything is so zen and we enjoyed every bit of it. Room was spacious with so many beautiful details, view was incredible and bath tub is all you need after all day hiking. Stuff were very friendly and welcoming, especially Wendy who was so helpful with all our questions, and gave us some amazing suggestions for hiking. Also Their restaurant has great vegetarian options and we ended up having few meals there.

Everything was perfect

We like everything about this place particularly the stunning scenery and the amazing staff. My husband and I stayed here for my birthday and we both had such an amazing time. The staff were incredibly helpful particularly Wendy and Li Na. Good food options for breakfast and afternoon tea but our favourite was the complementary ginger tea by the reception (best ginger tea ever)! The hotel also provide daily activities such as morning exercise, fan making, tea ceremony and many more, so you won’t be short of things to do whilst in Yangshuo. There are also three furry residence in this hotel (two dogs and one cat) which makes our stay more enjoyable as we are pet lovers. It’s just a shame that we have to go back to the city but we will definitely come back!
