Breakfast - extremely good! Very chatty hosts whilst at breakfast table. House even older than my wife(!)
Our own sitting room was an unexpected bonus ...

My room was very spacious and the bed was really comfortable. The furnishings, and bathroom were beautiful. I loved the touch of fresh roses and lovely toiletries, waiting for me.
My breakfast on both days was exceptional. It was lovely to go into the dining room, and have a roaring open fire waiting for me.
There was nothing at all, that I did not like. The hosts were charming and welcoming.
Just a very small, personal observation. I would love a hospitality tray in the bedroom. It was hard being awake at 6.00am, but not able to have a cup of tea until breakfast at 8.00am.
However, the previous evening, Liz did fill my flask for me with coffee, but it was cold by the morning.
Despite this, which is not a complaint, just an observation, I would thoroughly recommend a stay in this beautiful building. I will certainly be returning, when I am next in the area. Nothing was too much trouble for the Hosts and they really made me feel at home.

Really great and quite unusual stay at the historic Marston Hall, which has been in the family since 1380. We particularly liked speaking to the owners about the history of the family and the House itself. Bedroom and bathroom were both good sizes and we found the bed really comfortable. The Hall is in a quiet, peaceful location and the large roaring fire was lovely in the evening. The owners provided a great breakfast in their grand dining room, which we enjoyed.

John and Liz were excellent hosts provided tean and biscuits on arrival. Very personable couple and welcoming into their historic home
Could have done with a shower facility

Fantastic find here. Didn't realise when booking the history of Marston Hall, quite an opportunity to spend a night in such an ancient but comfortable home. Charming hosts who were only too pleased to spend time to not only ensure we had a good stay, but also to explain some of the family history associated with the Hall. Fascinating!! Breakfast was a real treat, something we won't forget for a while!!

We arrived quite late to a very welcoming reception. we were shown round and settled into our room, and given advice on where we might eat out that evening.
In the morning, breakfast was delicious and there was plenty of it

Wonderful owners, When we arrived we had a lovely cup of tea with biscuits and we sat by the open fire burning away which is stunning and it was a warm room, It is a 800 year old property with stunning features, Breakfast was wonderful.
The room was slightly cold so bring warm clothes. A nice warm bath helped and we had a electric blanket each.
Would highly recommend eating at the Red Lion in Caythorpe for an Evening meal.
The room was a little cold.

We effectively had the run of the gorgeous property, and really enjoyed sitting in front of the open fire. Our hosts were very generous and welcoming. Breakfast was delicious!
There was no shower over the bath, but that's probably to be expected in an historic house.

Breakfast was excellent. Owners were very nice and the welcome we got was super. To have stayed in what must be an eleventh or twelfth century property was interesting. Looked for ghosts.
We did not see any.

Beautiful old manor house, steeped in history. Excellent breakfast, very well cooked and quality produce.
Would have liked to be able to make hot drinks in the room (no kettle in room) but hostess made us tea in the old hall. However, would have liked to to have been able to make a hot drink before bed and early in the morning.
