An incredible place - we would not hesitate to return and thoroughly recommend this accommodation

From the moment we arrived at Elsa’s beautiful holiday home, we felt so comfortable. Not only is the setting magnificent but the warmth and welcome we received was incredible. Freshly baked pasteis de nata with a wonderful bottle of port greeted us. Everything in the home is as pictured and is even more beautiful than you can imagine. We were blessed with glorious weather so were lucky enough to take advantage of the pristine private pool. Our every last need was attended to, for example at the pool there were beach towels, loungers, and fantastic cooking facilities including a barbecue - all so perfect that we didn’t have to go down to the house to get forks or knives or glasses or anything for the kitchen and could spend our whole day relaxing poolside. The patio on the house offered incredible views of the Douro river and we loved watching the boats and rowers pass by. It is a very peaceful place and we could totally relax and enjoy the scenery. Throughout our stay as some personal challenges arose, Elsa was there to support us in every way with advice and a personalised courier service. Moreover she kindly spoiled us on the various occasions we had come to celebrate. Do not hesitate at all to visit this five-star property and experience.

Absolutely relaxing and stunning location, property and owners

The owners went above and beyond what they would have been expected to do. The villa is pleasantly decorated mostly with reclaimed objects. Cooking facilities were very adequate and having this by the pool as well was very welcomed. Very peaceful and calm and we left feeling like we actually had a holiday. Owners were always on hand to help us. The pool are is quite amazing. Everything you need there to spend the day without having to go back to the villa. Photos are of the swimming pool and view from the Villa's balcony.

Well its not the fault of the owners but it is quite steep there and would not be suitable for someone with walking disabilities, but then again I had a dodgy knee whilst away and I managed, slowly but I managed.

Magical, spiritual place!

My family of 3 (teenage son) had a great time. The casa is beautifully decorated, clean and well equipped. The views to the river are hypnotizing. The pool is on a hill above the casa - 2 minute walk. It was our favorite area - it feels like the world has stopped - the only sounds are the chirping of birds and the ring of the church’s bells. The property is 20 min away from Porto by car - we made trips late afternoon to explore the city (beautiful city). I must mention the owners Elsa and Philip - they are the heart of this place - they give you full privacy but you feel their caring. Don’t miss to talk to them - the history of the place is book-worthy. A note about the taxi cab driver Jorge (ask the owners for his contact) - we used his services 8 times - his smile, positive energy, and story- telling enriched our experience. Thank you, Elsa, Philip, and Jorge!

A very enjoyable stay, would definetly recommend

The location was beautiful, looking over the river made it is such an amazing spot, so much going on the river, lovely sitting on balcony or terrace watching it all. Lots of wildlife too. The house is decorated in a colourful quirky way, and the lovely swimming pool was a real bonus.

just very minor, just a few more mugs would be good, so you have mugs to use when dishwasher is on. Apart from that it is well equipped.

Best place we’ve ever stayed!

My and my 6 friends visited Last week and had an absolute blast! The most beautiful place I’d ever stayed and the most kind and helpful people I’d ever met. Everything was arranged to make the most out of our stay and to make us feel as comfortable as possible. Elsa, thank you and your husband so much! We made beautiful memories in Portugal thanks to you guys!!

Perfect

We had a great stay with Elsa and her partner. It is a very nice (separate) residence with lots of outdoor space - we enjoyed the BBQ / fire pit every evening and during the day enjoyed the swimming pool with its own bathroom and kitchen (!) Definitely a place to relax and very nice / luxurious. We took the uber (taxi) to porto for 12 euros, perfect and flexible! Definitely a tip and suggestion if you're in the area. @ Elsa thank you for your service and hospitality

Fantastic stay near Douro River with amazing hosts

Cosy house, very well decorated, clean and comfortable. We were a family of 5 and received some friends on Saturday for a fantastic day in the swimming pool area with barbecue facilities. We even went for a ride on the farm’s Kaiaques with the kids and had a swim in Douro river. The hosts were incredible, friendly and there wasn’t nothing they wouldn’t do for us to have an enjoyable stay. Great and very enjoyable days, both isolated from the fuss of the city and so close if you want to go for just that.

Exceptional

This is a beautiful place and you can see the effort that the owners has put into every detail. Do not hesitate to book your stay! You would feel at home from the moment you arrive and regret to leave! Next to the river with great views all day long. They even provided us with wood and a BBQ to make a bond fire and enjoy the outdoors.We received a kings cake and a bottle of champagne on our arrival and a basket of fresh bread in the morning! Coffee machine with plenty of pods ect. Super clean and comfortable beds. The owners is is great and they can be veryproud of their property. Hope to be back soon.
