Great accomodation in a great location!

Very convenient and excellent location, in 10 mins walking you can easily reach the centre of Santa Maria and only 2 minutes walking you can find a very cute beach and beach bar facing the ocean. Surf, kite surf and diving schools in the area. Loredana and Filomena have been the best, so helpful and caring whatever I needed and making sure I was having the best time, would definitely choose again this accomodation for my next visit.

Disappointing

Price, location, cleanliness was good Except this, they will tell you at your arrival that you are limited on 1M3 of water for 7 days and with electricity also (can’t remember how many kilowatts/hour). If this is reached you will have to pay sups. And we had to sign a paper with the measurements. All the best

Highly recommend! Nice and quiet place, at the same time 7 minutes walk to the center. The beach is the best in this place. There are many cafes, restaurants and a supermarket nearby. Clean, cozy and very comfortable. We rented a room first for a week, then extended for another two until the end of the holiday. Very nice and friendly hosts and maid Filomena! We will definitely come here again! We monitored the entire coastline and we can say with confidence that this is the best ratio of comfort and quality for such a budget amount!

Basic, clean apartment - Good value for price

- Good communication with friendly host and remote owner - Basic but very clean - Only few barking dogs at night (that's the plus part of being on the side of Santa Maria)

- Nothing really - Somtimes I wished the location were a little closer towards City Center - Actual Location is: 16.597961754398515, -22.897011195825026 (in booking maps a little off) I attached a panorama picture with position.

Superb

I booked the flat last-minute, like one hour before we arrived and it was no problem at all. Very clean, all you need is there. Good location, not far from the beach and the center and quite during the night. The lady who received us is very friendly and lives also in the building, she is ready to help you if you need something. We recommand this place!

Cheap, interesting “locals” area and good value, if looking for a create your own experience.

I liked that the room and furniture was as pictured. A few creature comforts were also included. The owner calls after you book the non-refundable deal to explain the water rationing and additional fees. Activities advertised (ie pool table, horses, tours and water sports…) are plentiful and available off site, or in town. The property manager is helpful and nice, and provided a short tour around local area. Cleanliness was great, inside room is 20€ each time if needed during your stay - including laundry. Fair price for quality.

Location falsely advertised, on map and as described - But it is unsafe walking distance to either beach or town if solo after 6 pm. Witnessed a robbery, aggressive violence, and recent shooting within 2 blocks during stay. Loosely 20 M translated to “minutes” walking? In English it means metres- definitely not true in this case as the beach is located four blocks across the rubble of what was during Covid the town’s homeless encampment. Could provide advice for security at night, as in explain the taxi fee and requirement of use. A few surrounding buildings have in place a watchman, able to translate and call the police immediately when incidents occur. Emergency procedures should be provided perhaps as well, in event of fire and need for medical care or ambulance.

Pleasant and calm

Filomena is responsible for all the apartments. She also lived there and she is super nice, you can always knock when necessary. We also had an earlier Check-in and on our last day, we left the bags at her place the whole day

Exceptional

The flat is very clean and cute. Ideal for a solo traveler or a couple. The Capverdian lady who is responsible for you during your stay is absolutely lovely and can give you a lot of recommendations. The apartment is in a safe neighborhood and you can easily walk to the city center in 15 mins. There's a small supermarket near the apartment but also lots of places to get things along the way. Definitely recommend staying there.

Exceptional

Great space with lots of fresh air. Overall a great experience. Interacting with Loredana and Filomena made it that much more better. The apartment is a nice walk from the center of town, and the area has a lot of character. I recommend staying at Santa Maria Flats if you are looking for a friendly and affordable place to call home while visiting Sal! Also, Filomena, the apartment manager, really is great. She was kind of enough to give me an impromptu tour of the area when we happened to leave the building at the same time.

Good

Very clean apartment, very comfortable, it was equipped with everything I needed, nice balcony, it has stores and supermarkets around, it’s directly located at the surfer beach, filomena the lady for the check in was very sweet and welcoming,

There was no WiFi, it’s on the 4th floor with no lift, the check in wasn’t easy because I wasn’t given a specific address as the lady only wanted to give the directions to the Taxidriver and I couldn’t reach the landlady till the evening. Sometimes there is no water in the morning, which is normal because in that area they switch it off everywhere. also there were little ants as soon as you leave food somewhere for a few minutes, which is also normal in Cape Verde ( definitely had nothing to do with the cleanness), it’s a 17 min walk to Santa Maria beach. I didn’t like the fact that I was charged extra costs for the first day, like a water fee, electricity fee and cleaning fee, which I never got charged before, but it was written in the small printed so I should have read better when I booked it. The price is still worth it when you stay 4+ day, because she gave me a better price for the following days. So make sure you stay there for more nights. Overall I did enjoy the stay :)

Very good

It was a great value for money and not far from the city centre. It was spacey with enough equipment in the kitchen and a nice bathroom. There was enough water for a family that showered every day. Overall it is a functional apartment, and everything works.

Location on the map is not the real location of the apartment, it is almost 300 m into the interior from the beach. The closest beach is not comparable to the main city beach on the west of town, it has rocks and it is not so nice. Apartment also have weird lights arrangement: same switch controls the bedroom light and the main light. So when you turn of the main light you have a very weak secondary light that is not bright enough for reading. Also the bedroom doors are not proper doors and the do not close from the outside. So when you put your baby to sleep you have to manually block it with something like a chair.
