good layout with kitchen and living area

parking was an issue as not accessible next to house, and parking in the village was problematic. fire alarm went off repeatedly for the toaster, very soft beds.

Beautifully presented property in a fantastic setting and location. All the amenities and bits and bobs you need.

The oven and hob was a little complicated to fathom but other than that it was perfect.

good property and location for a young family

good facilities, nice little village

there was a long stay before us who had not ventilated and the back bedroom was fusty. the staff came and cleaned and provided a dehumidifier which sorted it.

Ideal spot for having some quiet downtime, but close enough to the main sightseeing sites

The location was good with easy access onto A66 route between Keswick and Whitehaven, so good location for both the coast and lakes. Great Broughton appeared to be a friendly village

Car Parking, Finding parking spot on Main road sometimes difficult. Unfortunately no parking adjacent to Red Rose Cottage. However we managed the situation and it didn’t cause problems or detract from the overall impression of the property

Nice little house in good location, but check out the photos of the stairs before you book.

Very well fitted up small house in an excellent location to explore the northwestern lakes and Cumbrian coast. The owners were very helpful when we managed to loose the house key.

In spite of everything I have said about what was good, we wouldn't go back because there is no handrail on the top section of the stairs. I have a bad knee, and I seriously need a rail in case it 'clicks'. I was terrified every time I had to go down.

Lovely place to stay but they need to sort the oven out, for a week you dont always want to go out

Cottage very clean and neighbors very good

The oven set fire alarms off when ever you used it so had to eat out every night and the local pub was closed , opened Friday Saturday and Sunday lunch time, would have been nice to come back in a evening and have a meal with a drink, could not have a cooked breakfast so made it more expensive. Cockermouth most places closed on Mondays and Tuesdays for food. In high season?? And it rained, dont mind that but a week far to long

the oven was very complicated to use even with the instructions, it took us an hour to get the actual oven to work, and after another 45 minutes we gave up on the grill!

Comfy little house for a week away.

It was very modern yet cosy and clean. A great base for Keswick visits etc. It had everything you could need for a short stay. The local convenience store was very close and seemed to stock everything you could need. Pubs were close too, but we didn’t get a chance to pop in.

Tiny issues - Couldn’t really use the freezer as it was iced up. Finding a parking space on the street was a bit tough, but it was only an issue due to the torrential rain. None of this would put us off booking again at all.
