I have been a fan of this resort for many years and can not emphasise enough how beautiful it is.

The staff is absolutely wonderful. My partner has mobility issues and she is on a walker support. Once I made the booking and got the contact details of the resort, the front desk staff Christian was kind enough to send us a video of the premises to check if it would be comfortable for her. He offered to bring food to our room without charging us for room service because of my partner's condition.
I was having flu when I got there and requested for an electric kettle to be placed in the room so that I can have hot water form time to time. The hotel didn't have an electric kettle, but brought a large thermos filled with hot water for the next few days which realty helped me.
The breakfast was superb and filling, consisting of fruits, eggs as preferred, pan cakes, fresh juice and coffee / tea.
The staff Ezikeil and Elie were really great, who were taking care of our needs. The room allocated to us was right in front of Lake Kivu with a stunning view, The room is spacious with very comfortable king size beds.

Breakfast was truly amazing. The lodges were great.
No internet in the rooms and no bottled water in the rooms.

Beautiful and scenic. Service was top notch! The drive to Lake Kivu was gorgeous.
When we got there we were greeted with refreshments. Staff was very warm and welcoming. They accommodated our request for adjoining rooms and even made special arrangements for the same. Making payments was not a problem. Food was good especially the Captain Fish with mushroom sauce!
The rooms were clean, spacious, cosy and very comfortable. The shower was really good with good pressure and hot water.
Breakfast was a treat on the balcony overlooking the gorgeous lake and the garden.
I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for an affordable yet luxurious retreat!
The toilets did not have an Arabian shower so maybe that is something they can add.

The view is beautiful from the main terrace. The staff are friendly. The main guest entry room is nice and cozy. The meals prepared were tasty.
The room was extremely basic and underwhelming. Bathroom is dated and was not cleaned daily while we were there, nor was the room serviced. I wasnt convinced my blanket was cleaned before I used it. The amenities do not merit the price. The location is secluded, which can be nice if you want peace and quiet but is a bit far from the main resort area.
Breakfast was nice but mostly an appetizer for a full sized meal.

The staff was very helpful and happy to meet your needs. Beautiful views and exotic nature sounds from the birds and insects. The boat ride around the lake was pleasant and fun.
The room was cold, clammy, campy and cave-like. It got really cold at night but they provide hefty blankets on your bed. No TV. I could hear the other guests in the bungalow next to me.

The position of the hotel is absolutely amazing, with small bungalows in stone and wood build across a lush green area, giving access to a private beach on Lake Kivu. Some of the dishes were also absolutely exquisite - like the vegetable curry - and the staff is very kind, helpful. The room was spacious, with quality bedding and towels. the bathroom was also nicely styled, although a bit cold as it didn’t have a window. The common space, terrace, lobby, restaurant were designed with taste and made the stay the frame of a fairy tale.
The Internet connection was really shaky, and there is none in the rooms. If you happen to have to work, this won’t do for you.

The location is beautiful, the view is amazing, Alice in reception was very nice and accommodating. They arranged a boat trip for us that was a highlight of our trip. The food was very good. There is good wifi in the lobby but not in rooms.
the breakfast doesn't have many vegetarian options.

My private cottage was nestled in the exclusive space of a lush tropical garden and came with panoramic views and a private terrace.
The views of Lake Kivu and beyond were stunning.
The property boasts a private beach next to a vast meadow with picnic tables. Both include food and beverage service.
The onsite restaurant serves tasty food and features an exquisite fireplace at its centre.
Staff are very attentive and friendly.

A wonderful atmosphere both inside the main Lodge and the grounds. Very traditional wooden furnishings with a modern and luxury feel. A fab terrace immediately outside. Pretty bedrooms in individual lodges overlooking a beautiful part of lake Kivu. The staff were always kind, welcoming and accommodating. Great birdlife in flourishing gardens. Very enjoyable food, especially the fish. Possible to arrive by boat on a pretty pebble beach with clear waters. Everywhere clean and well kept.
Very steep rough driveway into the site.
The gas storage terminal across the bay is under construction and visually obvious but not much noise. Slightly disrupts the retreat feel but I think that once built it will mainly dissappear into the landscape. Not visible from the terrace and rooms. WiFi in main Lodge does not extend to the rooms. Signal for data good.

We stayed at Kivu Paradis in March 2022.
It was very quiet, and for most of our stay we were the only guest there.
The staff were incredibly helpful, friendly and attentive. Anticipating our needs, or responding to requests with efficiency and always with a smile. They managed to stay available and present constantly, but without ever feeling like they were hovering or in the way.
The staff were also unwaveringly kind, patent and playful with our 3 year old, who absolutely adored the attention and interaction with them. They chatted to him, played with him, and gamely kicked a ball around with him etc. whenever he requested attention, which also gave us a chance to relax a bit more.
They also gave us some good advice and tips on things to do in the area, and how to get there.
The grounds are lovely and really pretty. We lived seeing the vegetable patch and bird-life in the trees.
The food (we had breakfast & dinner at the hotel) was all very tasty, and well presented. Also the portions were generous and the dinner dishes come with several side dishes (we ate fish and got chips (or you can choose potatoes or rise) and veg and salad along with it).
Breakfasts were served on the balcony overlooking the beautiful lake.
We enjoyed watching the sun set over the lake, and also had a wonderful swim in the lake one evening.
After sunset the staff made a relaxing fire and we ate our dinner near the fireplace.
The security in the parking area was friendly and welcoming too and washed our car (which had got quite dirty as we'd gone astray when navigating there and ended up on about 20km of rocky dirt roads).
The rooms are quaint and characterful. The beds are the sturdy and firm ones we became accustomed to in all the Rwanda hotels, and had good linens.
The only things I'd change or improve would be to add a coffee station in the room and if possible to also add a small fridge to the rooms. But we were able to make tea as needed up at the main lodge, so that was not a big deal.
The room lighting is also not great and could be better.

We had a wonderful stay at Kivu Paradis. The staff were friendly, accommodating and professional - bringing fresh juice and warm hand clothes on arrival, arranging a boat trip, advising us on where to go for a walk, bringing loungers to the beach, and great service at meals. We loved the fresh juice and vegetables straight from from the garden. Food was delicious. Great birding. The rooms were spacious, tastefully decorated, and comfortable. A little bit away from the main town/other resorts which we liked. I'd definitely recommend this spot.
Water is available for sale but would be great if there was a filter to fill up our own bottles. There is a methane gas plant next door and some piping in the water. At first we thought it would distract from the setting, but as we settled in and took in the beautiful views, we hardly noticed it.

Absolutely gorgeous!! Fantastic staff, super comfortable bed, delicious breakfast...and the scenery....divine

Friendly service; beautiful landscaping; comfortable beds and rooms. Bamboo straws!
The meals did not fill us up, but left us still hungry, which was annoying given the high prices. Overall, this would be a great hotel if the rates were about half what we paid. They could use more seating options, both on the balcony and on the beach.

Good place to stay. Mosquito net present (not necessary this time of year)
View on Lake Kivu is disturbed by industry. No WiFi in the room.

Lovely staff, very good breakfast and food. Peacefull and wonderfull place to relax and enjoy the nature. Comfortable room; common garden and terrace to enjoy the wonderfull lake view all day long. Great beach to swim, relax and chill.
Great place to do some activities as kayak; I used my own Stand-up Paddel which was awesome.
Unfortunatley next to the resort the new energy station (extracting methan from the lake) is beeing constructed and tanks and pipes are laying in the water in front of the beach (appx. 50m). They will hopefully beeing removed soon to have a clear view on the lake.

De room (separate house) was the best we had in Rwanda. Beautiful venue, the staff is incredible good. Special thanks to Eric!
The view and location is not the best of the area.

Olivier and all the team were extremely welcoming and accommodating. We had difficulty getting our movement pass and arrived late but they fully accommodated this, taking our order over the phone, keeping the kitchen open late and even helping us with contacts the next day.
There's a beautiful beach by the lakeside.
Food was great.
Best place I have stayed in Gisenyi - thank you.

This is the best hotel I’ve been to in Rwanda. Olivier and his team are super helpful and welcoming. We had a great experience. The place is incredibly beautiful (the view, the open fire, the private beach). Olivier arranged great activities for us like a boat trip, an afternoon to the hot springs and jet ski sessions on Lake Kivu. It’s also a great place to work as the wifi is good. The food was also delicious!!! Don’t miss out!

Even though it was a short trip, we enjoyed our stay in Kivu paradise hotel.
Staff were super friendly and accommodative, they welcomed us as well as they sent us off with flowers thrown on our way out, that was amazing gesture and we felt special.
Breakfast served was amazing and we had great view from the hotel too
Could be good to have a soap/shampoo holder next to the shower, it is very minor but that is the only thing I could see an improvement with.

We loved the staff; everyone was so friendly and helpful. We also really enjoyed the food, both for dinner and breakfast. The restaurant is beautiful and the terrace view is incredible! Room was very comfortable, amazing water pressure in the shower.
Unfortunately the natural gas pipeline construction activity is obstructing the view a bit, and the beach experience is not as nice as it was before. The driveway entrance is really steep and rocky as well.
