Damage deposit will be forfeited if there are more people than claimed in your reservation or if you bring in a pet. This means you must claim all persons who will be sleeping in the house on your reservation, including children, infants, and overnight guests. Note: This is a quirky old house. The floors squeak, the windows rattle if it’s super windy, the old door knobs and original wooden doors can stick at times, there is a step down into the dining room, the bathroom off the kitchen is not ideally situated for modern living, the A/C is a window unit while the heat is radiant wall panels in living and dining rooms (meaning bedroom doors may need stay open while sleeping), and the original cast iron sink and tub definitely show their age in surface imperfections. The house is charming, comfortable, and clean. But please be aware: this is not a polished, modern hotel. House history: This home has been in my family since the 1920s. Originally the property contained only a one room bachelor studio. My great-great uncle Henry added the front four rooms in 1929 using a Sears Kit Home. After his death, my great grandmother Agnes inherited the property. Together with her husband Charlie, they connected the original one room house to the kit home house with the room we now call the dining room. Charlie would also add a screened porch and dig a root cellar deep into the hill behind the house. The old black and white photo depicts my dad at age 7 standing in front of his grandparents house. In 1953, Agnes sold the house after her husband’s death. From 1953 to 1999, the house would only change hands twice. For most of those years, the house was a rental property. In 1999, I purchased the house which as a child I had affectionately called “Gaga’s House,” and it has been back in my family ever since. In 2018-2019, my husband and I completed some extensive updating to the home and purchased all new furniture, mattresses, and linens in anticipation of making it available as a vacation rental. It was a charming, comfortable older home, remodeled where needed but otherwise left intact. Furnishings were very nice. All appliances worked great, including the much appreciated clothes washer and dryer and Keurig machine.
The neighborhood was quiet, but very conveniently located near grocery, gas station, and restaurants.

This old unique little house is very close to downtown Cody and has everything you need. Its very exciting to see several fawns with their mother eating grass in the yard. The place was clean but the master bed did squeak.

I planned a trip with my adult son to celebrate his college graduation. We were close to downtown and that was great! It’s a great location for getting to anywhere from Cody. It’s a charming home and described accurately.

We have stayed in Cody annually for the last 7 years and this was by far our favorite property! It was so close to all of the downtown amenities and we were able to easily walk everywhere. The best part was the second bedroom - it had a wall of toys and books that made it perfect for our two year-old son. We loved our experience and cannot wait to stay at this property again!

First this is a very warm and welcoming small home that was perfect for my wife and i. it was clean and cozy. The location was perfect for down town and Buffalo Bill Center. The home has a new grill but we didn't have a chance to use it. We loved this little home. Thank you for sharing it with us. Will stay again if in the area.

House was perfectly located. Walk wherever. It’s an old property with very few amenities. History was cool. Deer in front yard. They need pillows and an update for sure. Better be close with each other as the bathroom door doesn’t shut because of some venting issue. Weird. Front master has no window unit or fan and had to purchase box fan. Hot as heck and we are from Texas. Cleaning fee charged, but they expect you to clean it all. Great for come and go in cooler weather, but not for us again.

Great for Kids!
We have a 16 month old boy, and it was perfect for him! The crib was great to have just for him. He loved all the toys that were already there. If you have younger children this place is great!

I had a wonderful stay here. It was just 1/2 a mile from the Buffalo Bill museum (a must) and a few blocks from downtown. I stayed by myself, but it'd be a great stay for a small family.

The property was nice and we loved the proximity to town. The bathroom door was a little disappointing. It would have been nice to have been able to close the door.

Exactly what I'd Hoped For
My family and I enjoyed our stay at Melissa's place. The house is clean, comfortable and even has wildlife nearby. My city-slicker kids were SO happy to find a deer and her fawn in the back yard when we arrived.
We also attended the Cody Rodeo one night. If you stay here during the summer, I'd highly recommend going.

Alger House was perfect for my wife, 2-year-old daughter and I. The house was very clean and kid friendly, and just a short walk to downtown Cody. We enjoyed all the toys in the kid bedroom and the swing in the backyard. A lot of value for the money!

Clean. Everything we needed for a 5 day stay: towels, coffee, tea, toiletries.
The internet connection was slow, but we were all day gone so it did not affect us much.
