A fabulous country getaway. Friendly staff, relaxing atmosphere and oodles of charm.

Eddie was extremely welcoming. Lairds is a perfect country retreat.

Exceptional

We stayed here on our honeymoon. It’s a fantastic lodge, with beautifully maintained gardens a great pool and a large clean room. The food was amazing and the staff were very friendly. Would high recommend staying here

Beautiful hotel with excellent staff

Beautiful property, grounds and pool- plenty of places to sit and relax. Staff were incredibly attentive and helpful. Breakfast was excellent!

The only minor thing to mention is that the vegetarian option for dinner could be improved.

Skilled and caring staff in a beautiful hotel - as good as it gets

Fantastic from beginning to end. Beautiful property, even more beautiful grounds. Nice position - just far enough from Plett. Big high point we’re staff who were really exceptional. Laird’s Lodge is a very slick operation

Absolutely fantastic!

Where to start from… Lairds lodge is a dream! I liked everything!! The interiors, garden, swimming-pool.. Our room was huge and bathroom too Stuff extremely kind and nice but the very best have been the dinner and the breakfast.. what a sublime culinary experience!! Well done to the chef and staff!

ventilator in the bathroom is too loud, there should be another switch just for a small light

the staff were outstanding. friendly, attention to detail and professional

we booked two rooms. one was great, the second room we felt the bathroom needed updating and not in line with the rest of the room

true Boutique style with great food and wine

super nice hotel that really feels like a boutique experience. Great restaurant service, nice little bar and the best staff you can wish for. Nice spacious rooms. We had two wonderful dinners in Lairds Lodge with beautiful wine from the wine cellar.

An enjoyable night away break

We were warmly welcomed with a roaring fire and a glass of wine. Our rooms were upgraded which was a nice surprise. The Rooms were beautiful and spacious. We were not feeling up to doing justice to a 3course meal so we kindly asked the chef to come up with a platter for 4. He delivered exactly what we were looking for. Breakfast was plentiful and perfection

It was advertised on here that there’s a cigar lounge, there wasn’t… last time they had one was over 10years ago😥 That was disappointing to us as we were looking forward to it being big cigar lounge lovers. At 21h30 we were all sat at the beautiful bar area and the staff decided they’re going to bed, no one else to serve us, Bar closed! How does that work?

Beauty is but skin deep. :-(

Beautiful countryside-setting. Common areas nicely decorated. Far enough away from the road to avoid car-noise.

To reach this place you need private transportation. Well, this makes sense if you want to stay in the quiet and tranquil countryside. But this does NOT make sense when there´s an extremely noisy pump (?) starting every hour or so - all through the night - for a few seconds. We wondered why the ventilation was running in our room when we entered. Later, we found out that there was a permanent wet/moldy smell in our room - although the weather was warm and dry. This doesn´t smell healthy. We wonder how things look between the ceiling of the room and the roof.

Goid value stay but check Covid policy before booking

great location for us (we were traveling and using it as a stop over) Good food, helpful staff and comfortable rooms

whilst we understand that Covid rates are low, we along with several other guests were from Europe. Masks were not worn by the staff but were if requested. It made us feel quite uncomfortable

beautiful hotel, lovely staff, they really go out their way to serve you. the grounds are stunning. location is perfect between Knysna and plett bay, so great for day trips left and right on the garden route. our room was huge and looked out to the pool that was backed by a pond and trees. stunning. we were travelling with a baby and she even got a real cot! we also got to enjoy a private space in the wine cellar for dinner. would come back again!

A place you would recommend to your friends

Exceptionally warm and friendly reception. Sadly, we only stayed one night but will certainly return. We were greeted with a welcome glass of sparkling wine, had a most delicious evening meal. We were equally spoilt at breakfast too. Simply divine.

Beautiful manor with lovely staff

The manor is absolutely beautiful and the rooms are spacious and clean. We felt very welcome by the staff. The breakfast was incredible, as well as the food if you stay for the dinner service. We loved our stay here.

The pool wasn't really clean, which was a pity as you have a wonderful pool area.

Very good

Most friendly and attentive staff, super specious and beautiful room, a lot of privacy in a beautiful country setting.

The sicks in the bathroom were very high, but everything else was perfect.
