Great stay in Hotel Bilger Eck

Fresh baking at breakfast, friendly and very helpful receptionist, stylish and comfortable bedroom, silent and dark room at night time, lift was near our room, nice organic herbal teabags in the room

Quiet, clean and convenient

The location is very convenient. Even though there is a busy road, the windows are soundproof. The breakfast is tasty, and the staff is considerate. Newly upgraded interior of the rooms. Very nice to get tourist bus cards and maps from the hotel.

Check-in procedure was not clear. They only give you one key.

Fantastic location to visit the city, cannot beat having an Irish pub downstairs.

I stayed at Hotel Bilger Eck during my 18-day solo cycling trip along the Rhine. I arrived in pouring rain, soaking wet and it was wonderful to find this welcoming inn with an Irish pub downstairs. There were very adequate facilities for storing my bike, the room was really nice with a view onto the garden at the front of the pub. There was partying in the night outside but my windows were highly soundproofed so noise was not a problem at all. The convenience of the pub for a meal downstairs was just wonderful, staff were great and I felt very much at home there and would have liked to have stayed another night. Breakfast was perfect, not a wide range of choice but perfectly adequate. I'll certainly come back here if I'm in Konstanz another time and would highly recommend this hotel for cyclists and travelers. Especially those that have a thing for Irish pubs!

Exceptional

The room was really comfortable, it was really clean and well prepared. I stayed on a weekend and it was really quiet in my room. Breakfast was really good too, plenty of variety and everything fresh. The location is ok, close to the city centre, it's a 15 min walk.

Great stay for the Christmas Market

Really enjoyed our short stay at the hotel. Really friendly and helpful staff. Room was cozy and very clean. Beds were comfortable and it was quiet at night. Shower was great too! We enjoyed our Guinness in the bar and the meal we had in the evening was good and plentiful. Nice breakfast with choice of cereals, pastries, cold meats and boiled or scrambled eggs. Good coffee too. Easy walk to the quaint old town for the christmas market, which was worth the visit. Would book again.

Parking was the only, very slight issue. We unloaded our car next to hotel and found free parking on the residential street close to the hotel. Left car for two days and no problems.

Excellent stay

Everything was very good; comfortable room and bed, good shower, there was aircon and everywhere was spotlessly clean. The breakfast was also very good. Just a short stroll to the river, the lake and the town. Would definitely stay again if the opportunity arose.

All good. Would have scored 10 if the view was good.

The hotel located pretty much in middle of the city. There is park and bridge right in front of the hotel which connects to the old town. There is Irish pub on the basement where the breakfast serves there. The staff is kind and helpful to be fair.

That was kind of weird to see the shower in the room without any ventilator to suck the air out and wall that separate it from room. So after showering, the room was moisturized. Opening the small window and raining weather outside did not help to get rid of the moisture. Some dead insect and spiders found on the wall and room. Not that much expected from hotel.

Good value for money

The room was as on the pictures, small but comfortable and had everything that was needed for a short stay. It was a single room with a single bed with shower in the room and a shared toilet. Breakfast was rich as well

Room design a bit outdated. With late check-in we were not provided with all info, such as wi-fi password. Also would be good to know in advance about the city tax.

Excellent except the problem of the shower.

The room with air conditioner was enough spacious, very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was very good and the bar was agreeable. We could walk to the old city and there was a park near the hotel.

We were very disappointed with the problem of shower. The worst thing we were not content with this hotel is that staffs didn't try to treat immediately the problem of shower. The drainage of shower was stopped due to something dirty and water didn't flow into the hole. After taking a shower, water was overflowed to the floor. We explained it to a receptionist several times, but she repeated to say to us that it was normal and we had to use the shower slowly. After the sightseeing in the afternoon, the shower was still stopped. (The hotel didn't repair it ! ) So, we asked a man cleaning another rooms to look at our shower and clean something dirty. After that, the shower became finally normal. The hotel should have treated smoothly very easy problems like this. Another thing is that we don't like pillows.

For a good night sleep you'll have better luck on a nearby park bench

The best part of my stay here was when I left this hotel (2 hours after arrival). I went directly to another hotel where the air conditioning does not sound like a busted 2 stroke chainsaw going off in your room every 15-20 minutes.

If you don't like sleeping then I highly recommend this hotel. Or if you like to sleep but only for 15-20 minute intervals you will love it here. The air conditioning in at least 2 of the rooms makes a loud buzzing noise every 15-20 minutes all hours of the day & night (you actually can't turn it off). I'd be embarrassed to work here and continue to check in people to rooms knowing that they have no chance of sleeping. Yes, I told the front desk about the noise, they didn't want to move me to another room because they thought that the other rooms would have the same problem (ok... good to know I guess).

is close to the cuty, walking distance, with a nice place to swim a couple of meters away

there is a Buffet breakfast, nice with different options for all the tastes, Staff is extremely kind and helpfull so this is a great plus.

we didnt have wifi, not at all, taking in consideretion is so close to the border with Switzerland (nonEU country) this was something really needed, although they have two different ones, none of them was working :S
