The court yard was such a nice, relaxing space to sit any time of the day. Our room was quiet and clean. The staff were lovely. Easy access to all we wanted to see in town.

So definitely the heart and soul of this hotel is Jorge. He does top work, he knows how to make you feel like part of the family. He speaks great English and let you decide whether you learn Spanish or speak in familiar English. For him alone ill give a 10/10. The hotel is more like a hostel. Nice pool, hammock, great courtyard to relax and socialize. Very cheap. Breakfast delicious. I will definitely come back!
it is known that the road is a bit more dangerous. I would definitely keep my eyes and ears open. And at night I would rather arrive at the hotel with someone else or take a taxi.

good location, amazingly helpful and kind staff, sold drinks at cheap prices at the hotel
room didn’t really have any windows but that did help keep it cool

Nice breakfast and pleasant staff. Close to old downtown area and waterfront.
Not on the beach and pool was quite small.

very good price for a large room with AC and private bathroom. There were also few other quests so lots of space outside the room. Wifi speed was also good.
The english speaking front of house staff member was rude. My white laundry came back pink and he argued with me instead of just accepting responsibility and fixing it ("are you sure it was really white?" "there wasn't anything red in there"(there was)). This is very basic hotel customer service 101 that the staff here is unaware of. He also made a fuss when I brought my clothes to be bleached to restore the white. Eventually he (very reluctantly) charged me half the price for the laundry (10kcop).
The street the hotel is on is also a little sketchy at night, though it is very close to the town center so if you make it past those couple streets, it feels safer and more lively.

We stayed couple of times before and after our lost city trek, left or baggages for the time. Friendly staff.
It was noisy at times and super hot but I guess thats local weather.

The staff are very friendly and welcoming. You are close to the main nightlife and the sea front. The bed was comfy.
The rooms are next to the communal area and you can hear everything from when breakfast is being prepared early in the morning

The breakfast was ok. Good coffee and some juice (full of sugar though) eggs, bread and some fruit. (Not a huge assortment of fruit). Maybe some banana one day and pineapple the next. But it was included with the room so no complaints really.. :). The price of the stay was very reasonable though. The daytime staff was really helpful with information about the area, bus schedules and eateries, although they start talking really loud around 5:30-6am which is annoying because it's close to the rooms and echos throughout the whole facility, which caused me to wake up both days I was there. The cleaning lady starts frantically sweeping at 6 am which is also like nails on a chalk board when trying to sleep. The Wifi was great, the AC worked just fine but the bathroom had very little water pressure and that was kind of a bummer, but not a big deal. The inside of the place was quite cute though, with hammocks all around and a nice little waiting pool where you can get some sun. But as soon as you leave the Hostel you get bombarded with homeless people trying to sell you weed and coke. Although this would have been great in my early 20s, it was not my cup of tea at this particular time in my life. lol. But overall I don't want to sound like i'm bashing the place. Because i'm not. Just giving my honest feedback and I would probably stay there again if I every make it back to Santa Marta.

The breakfast was fine, and it's very well located
First of all, my room was very loud and next to a big nightclub. There was a dog barking all night - never really thought about hotel policies on dogs.
The room is old and while comfortable enough, does not have any 3 prong plugs. Be careful for those that are travelling and working, you may not be able to charge your laptop.
But for me I was upset about the AC. They charged me extra for it after the guy came into my room and turned it on when I checked in

Some lovely staff and a very nice courtyard with plunge pool
After sunset the street it was on was taken over by hookers, junkies and thieves
Not the fault of the hostel of course..it's just Santa Marta

The hotel and the staff are not bad. Unfortunately we were robbed! The first night we realized that someone had entered the room because we left the fan on around 9 pm because it was very hot the room and when we came back it was turned off, so we check the money and in fact 50,000 pesos were missing but we didn't say anything in case we were wrong. The next day before leaving we count all the money and we went out, at the return we counted the money and another 50,000 pesos plus another 50 euros were missing. We went to tell the owner who was sitting outside and he got mad at us until we told him we didn't want our money back but it was to warn him. We told him that someone came into our room in the evening when we were out and he started telling us about the waste of energy and that they have to check all the rooms when people are out for dinner..which is not legal because there was no written anywhere that they would be entered. At the end of it all we read the reviews all the way without going into the first ones and we found several people Who had our problem, their credit cards were cloned and they also had double charges for the room. ABSOLUTELY STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL AS THEY ARE THIEVES....!!!!
