An incredibly beautiful property and wonderful place to enjoy Tuscany for a few days

We wished we could have stayed longer here. This is a charming hotel / inn set in the countryside outside Sienna. From the main road, you drive up a dirt road that makes you wonder if you are going the right way, but there are signs to confirm it is correct. Arriving at their gate, you finally enter the property, with incredible views of Sienna in the distance on one side, and on the other a vista of Tuscany hills. The property is gorgeous. Our room had a full kitchen which we didn't realize until arrival, so bring your own food items for breakfasts, lunches, dinners or whatever. The parking lot for visiting Sienna (no cars allowed in the city other than residents) is a 10 minute drive. The hotel is perfect for visiting nearby Montepulciano, Montalcino, Pienza, and other parts of Tuscany on day trips, with those wine-tasting cities just 30 to 45 minutes away.

We didn't realize rooms had kitchens, so we were unsupplied with breakfast stuff the first morning. So be sure to bring what you want for breakfast, plus any other meals if you want to eat in your room or in the lovely outdoor areas of the property.

Perfect stay in Siena

This property was stunning! Once you pull in and start to explore you realize what a special place this is. The pool was beautiful with comfortable chaise lounges and ample tables. We actually spent an afternoon in the sun and just brought a bottle of wine down and some snacks. It was so relaxing. The views, trees and plants were all beautiful. We stayed in a one bedroom apartment on the ground level. We knew it was described as rustic and it was but the bed was great! I’m sure it could use a little TLC but it’s an old place so some quirks are to be expected. We loved our stay and having a rental car was needed. We explored the surrounding towns, did a 9 hour wine tour and loved some restaurant recommendations that Andrea gave us.

Loved our stay

We were truly happy with our stay. The pool and the garden and the staff were amazing. We had one of the smaller apartment but it suited our needs and had a nice view. We had everything we needed and slept well. We absolutely loved the pool area and the garden. Enjoying the pool area during the day and having dinner in the garden at night was the highlight of our stay in Tuscany. 100% recommend and will definitely be back :)

For an idyllic Tuscan vacation, Il Palazzetto should be part of your experience.

The property is incredibly beautiful and well taken care of, a wonderful Tuscan setting. The rooms are comfortable and very charming. The A/C works really well. The pool and surrounding grounds are beautiful. The property is well located for exploring Tuscany and the hill towns by car, but the property is also a perfect place to relax and unwind. It feels secluded and relaxing, but is not too far from the main road. The owners are really nice and very helpful, they answered all my questions about things to do and drives in the area and gave great suggestions. Siena is close, maps and parking information was in the room when we arrived. We used the kitchen in our unit the night we arrived and there is a washer on the property.

We really loved our stay at Il Palazzetto! This beautiful location, with the incredible view is up on a hill and not within walking distance of stores or restaurants so you probably do need a car. That is not a negative, just something good to know.

A gem with well deserved good rating

The location is gorgeous, surrounded by the classic Tuscany rolling hills, yet only a stone's throw away from Siena old city and the essentials (big supermarket, pharmacy, gas station, etc.). The apartment is like a real home, with everything one needs plus super comfortable and warm. There are very few places I come across while traveling I would like to make a long term home, this is one of them. Staff are friendly and helpful. An amazing place to soak in Tuscany in all seasons. Overall a highly enjoyable experience.

High hopes, but a bit Disappointing

The view has a highway running through it. Hot shower water was pretty limited. As a tradesman, i understand work needs to be done. But considering the property... get in, get it done and get out !. But no, we had a picker truck parked 1 mtr from our door all day, 4 workers could not have moved slower, made alot of noise whilst getting very little done. Even after they moved the truck, on an acreage property, they came back to stand at our door to all watch 1 guy not be able to start a chainsaw. And they knew we were there cause we had been out all morning and said hello as we squeezed past to even get in our room. No care was taken to the fact we were there, even after the sun set and the truck was parked there from morning. Disappointing to say the least

Beautiful Villa

Location and Villa grounds were fantastic & very beautiful. Very short drive into Siena. Staff were very quick to respond to questions/queries about the apartment.

Aircons in the room need replacing or servicing as the apartment felt like it wasn't getting any cooler.

A very nice property close to the historic centre of Siena. Close to the superstrada - easy access to all directions to explore Tuscany. Definetely recommend to have a car :).

A good base for exploring Tuscany but but we need some renovation

- location (10 minutes from Siena, close to shops and cafe), - pool, - nice view from the backyard to Siene, from the pool to the Tuscan fields - good air conditionings in the apartment

- bathroom (shower in very poor condition), - dirty mattresses on sunbeds, - dirty dishes in the kitchen, - nois through a nearby expressway

A wonderful place with a magical view. I regret that I only booked two nights there, and when I realized that the place was irreplaceable, all the days ahead were already booked. We were accommodated in a pool house with a stunning view of the Tuscan hills. The staff was very kind and smiling. We will come back again, but for more days.

I don't believe there is anyone who doesn't like something.

Fantastic location for Siena with good views and pool.

Excellent location for accessing Siena. Amazing views well maintained grounds. Large bedrooms with clean bathrooms. Lovely pool with plenty of sun loungers. The staff were very prompt at helping with queries via WhatsApp and email.

The site is quite close to a main road so you can hear road noise from the apartment and swimming pool but we quickly got used to this. There was air conditioning in each room but it struggled to cope on hotter evenings.

Tranquil paradise in Tuscany - will definitely be back

I loved absolutely everything about this property - spotlessly clean, beautiful outdoor areas, refreshing swimming pool, really helpful and friendly staff (shoutout to Morgana).

Nothing! Would advise having a car to get groceries, etc as it is too far / hilly to walk to the town.

Great 'little palace' in a great location.

Lived up to it's name - Il Palazzetto! Excellent location at the edge of town with easy parking. Lovely panoramic views. Apartment very pleasant, with good facilities. Highly recommendable.

Everything was perfect. So close to Siena and yet it feels like you are lost in deep Tuscany. Beds were very comfortable. Really clean. The pool and the outside common areas are amazing. Very easy check in and Marco was very attentive, helpful and nice. Looking forward to come back and stay longer

Great base for exploring Siena and the country-side around it

Beautiful location overlooking Siena from the south. The access road passes by a gas terminal and under a freeway, but it is all up from there. Welcoming staff and the large lawn and fence makes it a great place for travellers with dogs

The pre arrival cleaning could have been better - there was hair clogging the shower drain. Too small closets for anything beyond a 2 night stay.

I really enjoyed the feeling of being 'in Tuscany' - the building and the close surroundings are very much like what you expect to see in that region.

Location is a bit of a distance to Sienna.

- clean, comfortable 2 bedroom house, tastefully furnished to a very high standard - well equipped kitchen with a coffee machine and dishwasher - superb hospitality - secure parking - large swimming pool - fabulous views over the Tuscans hills - excellent value for money
