Fantastic option both for hiking in the Drakensberg or just hiking the farm itself and chilling

The ultimate destination for outdoor enthusiasts! You have to drive 3km up a steep gravel road once you reach the property to get to the Berg House itself, with spectacular views all around you. Each cottage has a different view of the Drakensberg, with the Amphitheatre central to the vista. The cottages are very well equipped, very clean, well looked after - as they were quite empty, we were offered a choice between two, which was a nice touch. There are 5 hiking trails on the farm itself, amongst horses, zebra, sheep and cattle, at least 2 waterfalls that we found, spectacular bird life, topped off with a rock pool and a communal view point with fire pit. Based on a suggestion from our daughter who had previously stayed here, we opted to have meals provided and it was great South African fare, simple but very satisfying, same applied to the breakfast - our stay was just too short!

Konden we maar langer blijven!

Het verblijf is kortweg geweldig. De huizen liggen wat verder uit elkaar, waardoor je geen last hebt van eventuele buren. Het zwembad heeft een indrukwekkend uitzicht op de vallei. Vanuit je huisje keken we uit op paarden in een weide, wat voor ons als zeer positief werd ervaren. De medewerker van de receptie hielp ons goed en er werd duidelijk van te voren gecommuniceerd dat er weinig restaurants in de nabije omgeving zijn. Het verblijf heeft hier goede alternatieven op gevonden. Het ontbijt wordt iedere dag naar je huisje gebracht en is enorm lekker. We hopen hier nog vaak terug te komen!

Endroit idyllique

Endroit magnifique avec une vue incroyable. Chambre très très confortable.

Piscine pas très propre (verdâtre, et je ne pense pas que ce soit vraiment l’effet cherché), mauvaise odeur dans la chambre à notre arrivée.

Traumhaft

Alles..... Der Aufenthalt war ein Traum. Unsere Suite war sehr großzügig und mit allem ausgestattet was man braucht. Es gab ununterbrochen Strom und heißes Wasser. Unser Frühstück und Abendessen wurde uns von sehr freundlichen und immer gut gelaunten Damen in unsere Suite gebracht. Beides, Frühstück und Abendessen, war mehr als hervorragend und sehr abwechslungsreich. Wir haben jede Minute diesen traumhaften Ausblick genossen und kommen bestimmt wieder.

Wunderschöne Zeit

Die Lage ist der Wahnsinn. Tolle Aussicht, toller Pool, sehr schönes Haus, viel Platz. Traumhafte Terrasse. Essen sehr lecker, super roomservice.

Die Zimmer waren nicht ganz zu. Durch die Strohwände war es recht hellhörig. Mit vier kleinen Kindern nicht ideal.

Nice and friendly host Excellent tips for activities and restaurants even when we left so for the next place we would go to. Big and comfortable beds! Electric blankets. Food delivery in the cottages

Cottage was really cold and we needed to pay extra to buy fire wood. At other places this was available free of charge.

Awesome 2 night stay, beautiful views.

The location is beautiful with incredible views especially from cottage 4 & 9. Cottage 4 was very nicely decorated and furnished. We opted for the homemade evening meal which was great, as was the breakfast. We were warmly welcomed, and looked after. I would not hesitate to return, especially with so many great hiking trails.

Exceptional

The view was incredible! There seems to be nothing in between you and the mountains. We never got tired of taking a deep breath and looking around. The cottage was very clean and well looked after. There were really nice little details, like fresh flowers and iced citrus-water when we arrived. We would definitely recommend to order the breakfast AND dinner. Everything was freshly made and tasted delicous! We had an unforgettable, wonderful stay and would love to return!!

Just wow

The swimming pool was the most beautiful one we have ever seen. We skipped a day of hiking to chill at the pool. What a fantastic place, would really like to come back.

a mosquito net and ac would have been a nice addition.

It is really nice and worth the money, recommend!

The cottage number 4 was incredibly nice, equipped with everything inside. The service at the room was excellent and delicious. What can we say about the panoramic view… perfect!
