As soon as I arrived a staff member welcomed me and showed me around. The room was sensational wheee I had a welcome gift for me, lots of room and help myself to breakfast style food. Despite being an old style place it was very clean and well maintained. I stayed in the private bathroom suite and biggest shower I’ve ever seen. I recommend this place.
A few minor issues with the DTV channels but since there was good wifi and a big desk I got around by using my laptop instead.

Excellent. Our room was spacious and so clean.
Lovely street, so quiet, private parking, easy walk to small shops.
Brekky continental and plentiful.

Clean facilities. Breakfast provided. Heater in room!
Hot water flow very erratic in all the sinks. It’s either too hot or not hot at all. The sink at the hallway in the main building has no hot water!

The Buddhist aspect and generous sharing of spiritual teachings in beautiful books was simply superb. (Gave my counsellor and also my daughter one and they both lit up with excitement to receive such stunning gifts, thanks to the pay forward of Pure Land.) A couple of the staff were very friendly and welcoming and on arrival was shown facilities and exactly what I needed to know with keys and the room. The signage inside the door to not forget your key when stepping outside (even to the bathroom) was helpful indeed. The green tea was so very good plus water supplied seemed filtered..... yes! The shower was really very good. I thought I had to be monk-like on a cold day, till discovering the heater. With an accessible power point and extra blanket, wanted for nothing. Oh and asked to leave my bags before an already generously early check-in compared to elsewhere.... and was very kindly allowed to actually check in. Greatly appreciated as town days can be tiring & when doing a lot of walking.
Would echo what another reviewer said about difficulties contacting someone after hours (in my case, around 5.30pm) to ask for assistance; albeit an unusual request. Took some sleuthing and they eventually did kindly offer help. Itm another Buddhist like guest actually helped me. 5pm appears to be the cut off for this establishment and it is written to contact them if intending to arrive after that time. Aim to be self sufficient outside normal business hours. The bedhead hit the wall when merely turning, so hoped there was no one in the next room to disturb.
