Great stay in oban
The guy was very helpful and friendly he even helped us out with giving suggestions for dinner The place was clean and the facilities worked fine I would stay again.
The room and place was sometimes showing its age and the mattress was a bit too soft for my personal comfort

Excellent, fabulous and so cheery down to Tony, that he has so many repeat guests.
Tony the man who owns and runs a good show was an excellent host. The breakfast was beyond what we expected for a Buffet. The facilities, room provided for breakfast was tremendous along with lots of nice homely quirks. The tea and coffee was great too. Tony makes a 100% effort to please his guests all the time. He is a mine of information of things local in Oban and surrounding areas. We will be going back there.
Nothing.

No reason to stay there for longer than a night. Terrible hospitality and cleanliness.
Location is great unless you are a type of person who does not like going uphill a little bit.
It has started bad from the very beginning. The entrance door was locked and I haven't given any instructions how to get in prior my arrival. So, I called the emergency number and was welcome by annoying host with the following response: "I am busy, I am with people". He provided the door code and room number and promised to call me back shortly. That was the last time I spoke to him. So, please provide the instructions in advance or make yourself available to your guests! I could not find any rules or instructions upon entering the building. I assume, "do whatever you want" policy applies. Beware that this guest house is not a 4-star hotel. Right at the entrance there is a clear sign that this hotel is 3-star hotel. In fact, it does not deserve even 3 stars. Carpets in our room were dirty, bathroom's air exhaust was clogged and did not make any difference. Hairdryer was missing, liquid soap dispenser was empty. Really? Even motels have such basics. No one came to clean our room, nor replace towels during our 3 night stay, nor we were given an option to opt-in for such a service. I am really puzzled by the recent reviews that praised breakfast. Cooked breakfast? There is no such a thing. This is a self-service buffet-style breakfast, not cooked. You have milk + cereals, juice, cheese, toasts, and if you want you can boil eggs yourself. Good luck cooling them down, since there is no kitchen sink in the kitchen. Ah, and the most annoying thing: there are no spare glasses in the kitchen. So, if you are a night owl, you may end up of having your table half-empty, no glasses, or knives, or no milk in the fridge... I talked to another two couples who confirmed that they had exactly the same experience. Now I wondering whether the property has changed owners or it resorted to paid reviews? I can't explain contradictions between my experience and what I read in the reviews prior booking it.
