Disappointed

My second stay at Mercure Kawana. Both times showers have flooded bathroom and hallway. Obviously a design fault in construction. Twice I mopped up excess water Second stay. Air conditioner fan unit in ceiling above hallway - bathroom entrance was so noisy Turned off air conditioner to sleep. Spoke to receptionist on booking out. The offered $40 discount off my restaurant account. Upon review of emailed receipt it shows $20 credit. Not sure if I will rebook at Mercure this weekend as I will be working on the coast.

It's ok, the staff are wonderful, the buffet is very good

Staff where friendly

The shower was poorly designed, flooded the bathroom, and the door came off in the bathroom, no shower cap or toiletries. Would been helpful as it is a rain shower and sometimes you don't want wet hair

Upon arrival all staff were very kind, also when checking out staff were kind. Overall the Mercure was very clean, great effort to the team.

Breakfast was a little light for $35 with no option to have an omelette, I was told by a staff member when asked, Omelette's take too long to cook and that I could have pouched egg instead. The buffet warmers were not really that warm, food was a little cool for my liking. The ensuite room 226 had silicon gaps in corners of walls, this may cause an issue long tern with water damage, may need to get maintenance to check it out. The toilet seat was way too small for that toilet type, this has obviously been replaced with the incorrect type. The sofa was filthy, Please check this and have cleaned.

From off street parking to check in to facilities….everything was exceptional. I loved there was a restaurant within the building.

Comfortable and easy stay

The room was exceptionally clean and comfortable. The bed and bedding was lovely and allowed for a good nights sleep.

I wouldn't have dinner at the in house restuarant if I were to visit again.

Not the coast

A mix up at checkin was resolved quickly and professionally. The room was as described if perhaps a bit small and the bed comfortable

The location was more suburban than expected with limited retail or dining options in the area. On-site parking bays were very small and limited in number. The meal we ordered at the Wildflower restaurant was tiny and managed to be part overcooked and part raw. Upon discussion with the wait staff they advised the size of the meals for the prices charged was raised with the chef previously so perhaps managers should find a resolution or after our experience a new chef. Wait staff were very polite and accommodating and offered a free round of drinks for our table.
