We (a family with a toddler) rented this accommodation in April for 2.5 months. In regard to the property, it's a decently furnished apartment in a good location (family-friendly neighborhood, free parking, groceries, and patisserie on every corner), a well-equipped kitchen (but no dishwasher nor vacuum cleaner). A big minus is the shabby bathroom and sewer smell, probably due to the poor ventilation of the building. Aside from that the accommodation is fine. The 2* rating is because of the terrible stay we had due to extremely loud noise coming from 4 major contractions around the apartment. Three of the neighbors were renovating at the same time and the bakery underneath the apartment has been totally rebuilt. The noise was unbearable from the morning until the evening, so even the walls were shaking. We immediately complained to Booking and the owner but no solution has been offered to us. Furthermore, the owner told us that we if we don’t like the noise, we should go to a hotel. After a few discussions Booking offered us eventually 10% compensation on our total stay which we had to accept… Back home we have contacted Booking regarding the promised 10% compensation but they refused to refund us based on our entire stay but just a part of it with the argument that the owner doesn’t think that we need to be compensated for anything…. Above all, a very disappointing experience with Booking.com.

It was a great choice. Very comfortable, light, warm and well decorated.

The apartment is well equipped, clean and spacious. It has new Ikea furniture and everything you need for a comfortable accommodation. The host is also very friendly and kind. The building is in a typical calm local living area with shops and nice locals around. It is possible to find free parking on the streets around. It takes just 15 min. drive to the Arrabida Natural Park with all the amazing beaches. Or 5 mins. to the centre of Setubal and the ferries to the Troia beaches. Good proximity to Lisbon as well.

Setubal is not the usual sea holiday city (unlike the near Sesimbra for example), it is rather a typical Portuguese town but this has some advantages as for example it is not so crowded and expensive. Still a very reasonable base to explore the beautiful area around.

Difficult to find a parking place
