Magnifique

Vue imprenable sur la mer depuis le 41e étage! Les couchers du soleil depuis la terrasse sont incroyables ! L'appartement est très bien équipé, très propre et avec beaucoup d'espace. Le propriétaire est très réactif et joignable facilement. L'établissement comporte une piscine et une salle de sport. L'emplacement est idéal à Bocagrande.

Comfy stay with caveats

Quite spacious and very clean, comfy beds and pillows, AC in every room, stunning views from the 41st floor but be careful the rail is fairly low and one may actually fall over if not careful, washer/dryer available, fairly complete kitchen with utensils, good hot water.

About the apartment itself: no toiletries and only one roll of toilet paper per bathroom - at this price you can do better! + no water dispenser so you had to buy your own water from the stores and bring it all the way up - again, you can do better, the price is quite high and services need to be on par. About the building: useless strict security with rude staff - they check passports and copy info into their system + take a photo of each person (which is extremely unsafe to be begin with from a personal data point of view) + the entire building has only 3 elevators for 41 floors and we had to wait each time we would go up or down at least 15 minutes. All in all it was good, I recommend it if you have the energy to buy toiletries, water and argue at every step with the staff and to wait more than 15 minutes each time you want to use the elevator. It wasn’t worth the money by far but at least it was spacious, clean and with great balcony and views.

Relaxing View.

The location, size of the apartment, and cleanliness are great, security is wonderful. I will suggest that with the option of towels, include other basics as well, like shampoo, conditioning, body soap, kitchen soap, and laundry soap as an optional, for some families, it will be a wonderful plus.

Mixed feelings

The apartment in itself and the location.

There is no customer service at all, the apartment is managed by a guy in the United States, I couldn't pay at the property (be aware!) and had to wait for two hours at night until he finally let us in so we can transfer him the payment at the bank in the morning. It was also a failure from Booking, who couldn't read my card on the platforms, so there I was... Waiting with my family in the reception at night without anybody trying to give us a hand, all tired after a 6 hour bus trip. Everything is very strict, nobody can enter your apartment althought you rent the whole stuff. Had a friend over, and although there are 3 single beds and a double bed in the apartment, he couldn't enter not even to take a shower, after we went at the beach. If you want to go at the gym you have to book in advance and wait for a specific time slot, even if there's no one at the gym. You can't even drink a beer at the pool. The receptionists and the workers in general seem like robots, they just execute orders from the big boss in the US. They are not helpful in any way, you don't feel welcome, it's more of a "here's your key" kind of thing and that's it. There's not even cold water in the reception. Although the checkout is at 11:30 we had the cleaning lady knocking the door 10 minutes earlier and ENTERING the apartment without even asking for permission. The place has no soul at all and I wouldn't call it an experience, but more like a place to sleep.

No hot water

condo is great, location is excellent

NO HOT WATER (no water heater in the unit) The key to the room is a card and like for hotel rooms, the card must be placed in the holder to have electricity in the condo. this is a major inconvenience if you and your friend want to leave the condo at different time. if you lose the card, you need to contact the host (difficult when you have no wifi in the condo if the card is not there) and he will send somebody to give you another card (the reception of the condo does not have a spare card). In our case we lost the card during daytime and it was resolved quickly but I am not sure how it would be at night. if you don’t mind taking cold showers and having only one card/key condo is great.

Fantastic penthouse apartment with spectacular 270° views

Great, apartment with spectacular views. Having a washer-dryer n two bathrooms was a luxury. Location close to town - a 10 minute taxi ride - was also good.

Some minor maintenance issues e.g. loose wall tiles in the shower of the master bedroom n the bottom of the kitchen cupboards need some attention. This however, does not detract from the quality of the accomodation.

the view was amazing better then pictures even. apartment was very clean. nicely furnished very good location. building is clean.

I was overcharged by the owner on my credit card by 170 $ CAD over the advertised rate(he took 2 credit card payments one after booking to secure booking and one on the date of arrival. total amount was 170 CAD$ more then total on booking.com confirmation) it took many texts back and forth and a couple of days for him to agree to fix that and refund the difference . ( PS . I needed the help of booking.com customers service , they were very helpful after reviewing our texts and conversation on the Application and credit card statements. and mentioned if the owner doesn’t refund me in 5 days they will ) initially he was argumentative about it but finally apologized the last day after issuing the refund. I stayed total 5 nights. ****Also to note: No hot water in the apartment.(not equipped with water heater ) the owner response was that because it is on 41 st floor he thought the water will be warm enough by the sun for shower . taking a shower was still uncomfortable to my taste . it is a small suggestion for a fix and improvement to add a water heater for hot water I still gave good rating to facility and cleanliness as the apartment was nice and I want to fair and unbiased .

Superb

The apartment is fabulous, it is spacious and clean, well equipped, literally right next to the beach, 10 minutes to the historic city centre, and the view is stunning. Best place I've seen in a long time.

The price is misleading. I saw a price of $ 148 plus $ 55 for taxes and charges, but then I had to pay an extra $ 50 for cleaning and city tax, which is a whopping 30% overcharge. Not ok.

Great view and a good stay with some noise only in the living room.

The view is awesome and the appartment is nice. The location is also very good (for Bocagrande). Taxi's to the city are very easy to get, supermarkets and restaurants are in the vicinity.

The shower only gets lukewarm and there is an open roster (in a window location in the kitchen) so the noise from the streets outside enters the living room. The bedrooms are separate rooms and you don't hear the street noise there. It is the design of this tower, all the apartments seem to have that if you look from the outside. So you won't enjoy total quiet in the living room, but is is acceptable if you know it in advance. A manual for the washing machine, how the gym works (make a reservation), and where to throw away the thrash would have been helpful, but the host is very helpful and answers quickly.

I expected better for the price I paid.

Secure, clean, good stuffed kitchen, great air-condition, fast internet.

Bocagrande beach and ocean are very dirty. Especially after rain, when city trash goes into the ocean. Swimming there could be dangerous for health. Does not make any sense to stay near the beach. Front desk personal is friendly, but does not speak English and could not provide useful information. We needed to find English speaking person outside on the street. Apartment was big and clean. It has multiple beds but all of them are very hard and uncomfortable. Like sleeping on the floor. Poorly equipped gym. Absolutely impossible to extend check out time and no space to keep luggage. If you have later flight you will be stack in the lobby with all your staff. I suggest to stay in hotel near downtown and port to avoid these problems.

How could you describe a property where the owner don’t pay the electric bill and while you are in the unit everything goes dark? For two days without electricity where your groceries in the refrigerator are going bad ? What about you want to prepare a dinner with your wife and there is no stove ? Not even a flashlight or candles ? The worst was the answers given by the owner , that “ his lawyer was working with it “ with a claim to the electric company . That the technician will be there at 10 am and never came . He moved me to another apartment with only a bed . While I have to send my wife to a hair salon to do her hair because she cannot dry her hair . And to make it unprecedented having groceries to cook we had to go to out for dinner and came back to the dark apartment . We moved back and forward from the 41st floor to the 15th floor with our higiene items like we were in a hostel . The most abusing and respective actitud was that of offering us a refund for a night stay which we are not interested . The incompressible situation created by the irresponsibility of renting a property where the owner oversight the payment of the services is much to say . Look I my Booking and AirBnb lodging I traveled all over the world and this has been the most horrible travel experience that I have in years . In summary , renters and readers of you are interested in renting this property make sure you bring flashlight, candles and a lot of water because you may goes for the experience of your life ! Ah, and don’t call the owner he is a “ talker” and don’t listen he just talk .. and justify his irresponsible actions . Good luck!

Exceptional

Breathtaking view of Cartagena. I absolutely recommend this place to anyone who wants a more authentic experience of Cartagena. Since you’re staying in Bocagrande you’re not in the heart of the tourist area which is nice. You can wake up in the morning take a dip in the pool or beach then change and head into the city. It’s a quick 10 minute cab ride. The apartment is very clean and spacious. The cool breeze that comes through balcony is so refreshing. Will book again when I come back to Cartagena.
