The B&B is close to the city center, yet quiet. The breakfast was great and staff are very friendly. The shower was really good.

The smell of the room was so terrible and I was really about to throw up. They said that it is common in Ghent and the reason is city itself. But the smell was really not acceptable. I’d pay them If they can stay at there first. We couldn’t stay at this property and had to book an other one.

The location was fantastic, clean and comfortable bed, the hotel was in a quiet neighbourhood, close to the historical centre of town.The reception was friendly and helpful giving us maps and information about the area.

The room was tired and needed updating. The bathroom concertina door could not be comletely closed and there was mould in the shower recess and the floor behind the door could do with a better clean. The location was excellent: it was easy to reach the center of the town. We also got a terrific view from the window.

I didn't like the cleanliness of the hotel. Even though the bathroom was shared, it could be cleaner. In addition, the hotel doesn't have a lift - so bear in mind if you are having heavy suitcases.

1. The hotel is overpriced. 2. It's not clean. 3. Rooms are very small 4. No lift 5. The beds were of very bad quality, they attached 2 single beds to make it a double bed. When you sleep the mattress moves. 5. Bad smell in the room all the time. 6. Only 1 power socket in the whole room 7. The floor was broken and was making a lot of noise while walking. 8. Very old furniture, the hotel gives a feeling of old house. 9. Not near at all. 10. The lighting of the room is also pathetic. 11. Broken wash basin in bathroom. 12. No view from the room given to us.

The fan in the bathroom is activated on motion and stays on for 5 minutes and is quite loud so chances are you will wake up the person you share the room with if you go to the bathroom at night or early in the morning.

Bad is a nice word to describe this horror. I'm wondering how a company such as booking.com could have missed such glaring and obvious signs that this hotel is not what it purports to be. I've had a week to calm down after our dirty room, horrendous shower stall and health hazard of a toilet but I'm still not calm and don't want other unsuspecting guests to think ok for the price the rooms can't be so dirty, low standard is okay but filthy NO.

Dirty Toilets that appear not to have been cleaned for a year. Shower stall filthy. Doors, door knobs, switches filthy. Floorboards filthy and uneven. Wall filthy and socket plugs an electrical nightmare. The photos of the bathroom toilet were taken after trying to use wipes to remove some of the health hazard. And after complaining to reception we were told what do we expect if we choose a 1 star hotel, (to be honest we didn't even know this was a 1 star hotel). But told reception, I expect low quality, but not filth which we had to first remove before we could even touch the toilet, taps or light switches. We were just glad that the hotel uses an outside service for their bed linen and towels.
