Safe and Clean approved. Extremely clean, modern, bright and airy 3 bedroom villa set in the residential area of Santa Maria Maior, Old Town, Funchal. Within 5 minutes walking distance to shops and restaurants. Uninterrupted sea views visible from the large outdoor areas located on 2 levels - great for watching the Dolphins. Plenty of private space for relaxing on sun beds or dining al fresco whilst watching the cruise ships passing immediately in front of the property. Modern interior updated to provide large airy open plan areas and now the added comfort of air conditioning in all the bedrooms. Large open plan lounge with sea view leading to a brand new fully equipped kitchen and utility room. Appliances include bean to cup coffee machine, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, iron, microwave, fridge freezer and oven. The lounge is equipped with a LCD TV, cable channels and Wifi. The Villa consists of 3 spacious bedrooms all with king size beds and with full en-suites one of which is a wet room. Sun loungers, bathing towels and parasols are provided. Decoration is modern and comfortable with quality bedding, dressing gowns and towels all supplied. A little haven perfectly located with easy walking distance to the shops and restaurants. The property is accessed via a set of steps and therefore is not suitable for those requiring wheelchair access. The 3rd bedroom is located on the ground floor and accessible via a staircase located off the lounge. Bed linen and towels are changed weekly at no additional charge. There is the option of a single put up bed for use in either master bedroom or bedroom 3. We can also arrange taxi transfers from the airport with a reliable taxi driver (payable locally) and Mirela can book any sight seeing trips for you. Fully Licensed in Madeira License Number AL27048 with Safe & Clean accreditation. Hand gel, masks and disinfectant also provided. The house is priced based on 4 persons with an additional charge of £5 per night for extra guests to.

Funchal, Madeira and this property are beautiful. You will want to return.
The villa is located within 10-15 mins walk of the old town, via cobbled streets and quite a sharp walk back up the road. We found a wonderful range of cafes and restaurants and enjoyed every meal.
Everything we needed was supplied, a great kitchen and good quality furnishings. The temperature was 30c+ during our stay in October and a floor or desk fan in the living room would’ve been lovely. All 3 bedrooms had air-con which was much appreciated. We made good use of the south facing veranda with its comfy chairs and sun-loungers. Watching the ocean going traffic, including the arrival of one of the world’s largest cruise ships and Navel vessels patrolling the area, was fun.
Mirela the housekeeper was on hand to offer advice as required (taxis etc). Her kind help evicting a rogue lizard from the basement bedroom was appreciated - she even changed the bed linen (it has snuck in the bed!).
The welcome pack contained excellent fresh bread which encouraged us to find the local bakery for more - asap!
The little narrow street in front of the house can be (infrequently) noisy - from the delivery lads on their scooters or the early morning workers.

The accommodation was very clean and enough space for everyone. Stunning view from the big terrace, where you can sit and eat on a big table. We had everything we needed. The renter was achievable at anytime. We were ordered a taxi to and from the airport. Great service. The driver was on time. We were feeling so comfortable! Very very lovely renter!!! If we come back to Madeira, we would stay in this accommodation again!!

Everything about this rental is fantastic. It is in a great location, it's a really terrific house, very responsive, owner, and wonderful housekeeper who was really helpful. We were walking distance from everything. We rented a car and we could keep it in the garage. We used in the car for excursions. Two different hiking locations and sights around the island. We had so much fun! Best rental ever!

This is an amazing modern Villa with spectacular views and facilities. We were met by the housekeeper who was very helpful and welcoming, with lots of local knowledge. The villa is much more spacious than it looks on the listing and is immaculately clean and well stocked. The Coffee machine such a bonus and we also enjoyed a BBQ on the terrace one evening. The location was amazing and very close to waterfront and in the old town where the best cafes and restaurants are, but also a little set back from the business and noise so was nice and quiet. Parking was easy as we had hired a car and a perfect base for trips out of the city. The villa felt spacious and luxurious and sunsets on the terrace were spectacular.

This property was perfect in every way and had everything we/you could possibly need.
We had a friendly welcome at the house when we arrived direct from the airport (host provided contact details of reliable driver who met us there), and there were thoughtful provisions supplied so we wouldn't go without when we got there. Our questions about the area were answered and there was a great deal of helpful information and advice available in a folder in the house.
The spacious layout; closeness to the town centre; view across the Atlantic; cleanliness of the house, and range of quality equipment all deserve a special mention - and no, I haven't been paid to write this...it really is near perfect!
There was plenty room for us all to relax on the patio, enjoy BBQs, eat round the table either inside or out, and relax in the comfortable lounge area.
Karen and Michael obviously really care about their property and are such lovely hosts - we were delighted to have stayed there.

Excellent
The villa has everything you could possibly want including tea, coffee, laundry cleaners & softeners, dishwasher tablets and tissues. The list is endless. Beds and pillows were very comfortable and everything was spotless.
Karen and Mirela were lovely and looked after us brilliantly & our taxi transfers with Rafael all went smoothly, despite having to change our plans a couple of times due to flight changes.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the villa.

Location Location
The best self-catering villa ever.! Beautifully furnished, comfortable beds, extremely well stocked kitchen in all respects. Extremely generous welcome pack. Terrace and balconies galore with amazing views to watch the cruise ships. Will be back! Housekeeper Mirela and taxi driver Rafael made our lives even easier. so sorry to leave. Very good communication prior to holiday with owners.

Fabulous house in a great location!!
What a super home, immaculately clean, incredibly well presented, with everything you could need and more. Mirela, who manages the house, is an absolute star and we wanted to take her home with us!
One of the best homes we have rented through HomeAway, and there have been many.
Two small niggles, just for information purposes:
The DVD player does not work properly, the picture is squashed and you cannot hear it properly. In an age where DVD's are less popular, we can understand not replacing it, however might be better not to say there is one? We took some DVD's with us, but could not watch them! Maybe a larger, 'smart' TV is the way to go?
It is not a quiet place to stay, the trade off for an incredibly convenient location. Two dogs next door bark incessantly, day and night, and the road out front is surprisingly busy.

I don't know what I can say that hasn't been said before. Truly excellent self-catering property for up to three couples. Every whim catered for. From umbrellas to walking sticks. Three very pleasant bedrooms, all en-suite. Three grown men can fit in the kitchen, and cook at the same time. Everything has been discerningly thought through.
Plus excellent views, easy access to the more interesting parts of Funchal, and a wonderful person called Mirela who keeps the house to a very high standard and is on hand to help should you need it. Communication with the (English) owners was very efficient and personable.
It all makes for a very memorable holiday indeed.

Lovely, well-appointed home, great location, view of water, close to restaurants, easy walk downtown
We loved our stay in this home. It is in a great location, overlooking the water, and within minutes walk of the funicular, great restaurants, and good shopping at the market and neighbouring grocery stores. The home is three-storey, with a comfortable living area on the middle floor, two bedrooms on the third floor and one on the first floor. It is modern, spotless, and exceptionally well-appointed. There is a large stone deck off the middle floor living area that overlooks the street and the water just beyond. It has lots of comfortable outdoor furniture. The master bedroom on the third floor is large with a full-length balcony looking over the main deck. The other third-floor bedroom is considerably smaller, but quieter, and there is a deck off it at the back with a clothesline. The ground-floor, or street-level bedroom is large as well, but can be a bit noisy quite early in the morning. Although the home is on a small street in the old part of town, it has a surprising amount of traffic at different times of the day. That being said, we got used to it and enjoyed watching the drivers try to get past each other on the narrow street. The beds are comfortable and the ensuite bathrooms are modern and spotless. Karen and Mike have thought of everything, and their housekeeper is lovely and right around the corner if you need anything. We were three retired couples who stayed at the home for two weeks. It worked very well for us, and we highly recommend it.

Great Stay
We had a brilliant time in this house. The house, views and amenities are absolutely superb. The owners (Karen and Mike) were always easy to reach and gave great recommendations of attractions and places to eat. The house is exceptionally well appointed and the location was absolutely ideal being a short stroll from the old town and some great eateries/bars. The cleaner and driver (arranged by the owners) were also extremely helpful and made sure we were well catered for. We are just sad we had to leave this beautiful home! Thanks for everything!

This is one of the best properties we have stayed in, it has everything you could possibly need, the garage is an added bonus. Location is great, there is a nice little restaurant about a 100 yards from the house convenient for breakfast and a short walk takes you into the old town. Will stay here again.

Perfect
Ideally situated close to the old town, super views overlooking the sea, a kitchen better equipped than our own at home. There is plenty of room for 6 adults in ensuite bedrooms and spotlessly clean. Mirela who looks after the property couldn't have been more helpful and Rafael the taxi driver was great too!! Mike and Karen have the perfect holiday home.

Amazing, do not miss the chance to stay here!
Everything about this house is wonderful. Sitting on the terrace overlooking the sea watching the Dolphins was certainly a highlight. Everything you are likely to need during a stay is in the house with attention to those little things. Mike and Karen are very helpful (quick to respond to questions) and clearly take pride in providing the best experience they can for your stay. Mirella who's greets you and oversees the house is warm and welcoming and is available throughout to help if you have any questions. The house is very well maintained and spotlessly clean. It's only a short stroll into Old Town with its restaurants, bars, cafes and relaxed atmosphere. We often side stepped Old Town and walked along the seafront turning into the newer part of town then walked back through Old Town. We love the market and the outdoor markets the seemed to pop up
I would definitely recommend staying at this property and we intend to return ourselves as soon as we can

Brilliant villa, brilliant location !
Karen and Mike are great owners with really good communications and information. Finding the villa was easy and we were welcomed by Mirela who was very helpful throughout. The garage is perfect (plenty of room for even a large car), as parking is difficult given the villas close vicinity to the centre of Funchal. The villa is in a quite location with great sea views. It is very modern, clean and well equipped with comfy beds and inside/outside furniture. The location means that it is only a few minutes walk to the nearest cafe and many good restaurants, with the town centre a few minutes further. We would definitely return to this villa and would highly recommend it.

The property was clean tidy and of a high spec, just what we were looking for.
we found the villa to be spacious and very comfortable. We particularly liked the Aircon and en suites in each bedroom, along with the balcony and terrace space which would be ample even if the villa had 6 people in it. The kitchen was also fully spec’d with a great coffee machine being the highlight for us. We spent most of our time outside so the comfortable outdoor seating was also much welcomed. The owners have clearly thought of everything well done to them!

Like home from home
We had a fantastic 2 week stay this January. Everything was perfect, from the chauffeur collecting us at the airport, the welcome we received at the villa by Ricardo, the villa itself which was appointed to the highest standard we have ever had, Mirella cleaning and looking after us, the general attention to detail which the owners should be very proud of, the gorgeous views and the icing on the cake was the weather! We could ask for no more and will definitely be booking again in the near future. A truly wonderful place to stay within easy walking distance of the town. If you are thinking of booking, then don't hesitate as you won't be disappointed.

Excellent location with good views over the sea.
The property is in easy walking distance to the old town, though being Madeira it is of course uphill on the way home. There are lovely views over the sea and a large terrace well equipped with tables chairs sunshades etc, to do that from.
The house is extremely well equipped with good quality goods and really does have everything you need. There are 3 ensuite double bedrooms. One has a seaview and a small terrace, the second has a small terrace and no real view and the third is on the ground floor and we always referred to it as the cellar. This third bedroom is the only downpoint of the whole property.
Another bonus is that there is a garage. You do not actually need a car, you can walk to town and there is a bus stop outside. However if you choose to have a car, the garage is really good news.

Beautiful villa, lovely location, very well equipped
My family and I stayed for 4 nights to extend our holiday in Madeira. Karen and Mirela - (their housekeeper in Funchal) could not have been more helpful in regard to our booking and gave us exceptional service and were so accommodating to assist us before and during our stay. Communication was also exceptional with prompt responses to any questions. The villa itself is beautiful, so clean and very well presented and the air conditioning was a real plus due to the very hot weather during our stay. Everything has been thought of to ensure you holiday runs smoothly and the villa is very well equipped, so no need to keep constantly running to the shop- a real home from home. The location overlooking the sea in the old town is brilliant and it only a short walk to restaurants etc and into the main town. We will definitely return and would like to thank you all for a lovely holiday ...the slight delay in writing this review is only due to the fact that I was so chilled when we returned to the UK I forgot to write it!

What an amazing villa!!!!
We have just returned after a week in Madeira and I can't recommend this villa enough! The attention to detail was fantastic, the villa was everything we expected and more! A beautiful view, great location near all the restaurants and the old part of Funchal and lovely people that made our stay even more enjoyable: Mirela who made sure we had everything we needed and Rafael who took us to some amazing places. Villa in Old Funchal - Perfect in every way!
Second time staying @ this villa and once again was not disappointed. The location is perfect in Old Funchal, within walking distance of fabulous restaurants, the ocean, the marina, pier and the Farmers Market. The home looks exactly as shown in the pictures and is immaculate.
The owners have though of everything ensuring the home is completely equipped. Highly recommend and will return for sure.

Fantastic views, superb location so close to the restaurants of old town and the market. The villa was beautifully done out and well equipped. Luxurious. We had such a relaxed stay weve booked to come again.
