Large and cozy country house in a quiet and peaceful area

Very large and cozy country house in a quiet and peaceful area. Marcella is a wonderful host, we arrived very late in the evening and was still met with a warm welcome. Marcella gave us recommendations for a restaurant nearby which was fantastic!

It was pretty cold in the apartment, especially on the floor.

The place is clean. Old style decorations, not the easiest to find. Toilet needs to flash better.

Very nice host. Property was well equipped and clean.

Underwhelmed on so many fronts

Initially thought it was going to be a pleasant stay

Most difficult place to find . directions unclear .. have to walk in, no TV … toaster kept tripping power ..was cold and unable to get any heat into place in May. Bed hard and no doona . dishes in cupboard dirty. thin dirty looking towels .

Very good

The place is nice, the owner is very kind and polite woman 🙏 speaks only Italian and French. Responds to you immediately on the phone👍

Next to the house is a construction, so was noisy in the morning, and also no view from the windows. If you want to walk to the place is around 25 -30 minutes up. So, better get a car or a taxi, maybe But on the top - the view is spectacular 👌✨️

Not recommended

The large apartment is packed with stuff, not clean, lacks privacy and is dark. Despite booking was made with payment method 'Mastercard', the landlady stated MasterCard would not be accepted and insisted on cash payment (without providing invoice).

Like home. Coffee in morning. Plenty of room. Terrace.

No view of lake. Difficult to get to. No parking nearby. Price is too much. View of lake was on website but disappointed it was not there. Had to do own cleaning or charged extra and take out trash. New towels cost extra.l

The property is advertised correctly. the owner is nice. the location is definitely a challenge.

The property is pretty much as it is advertised.

Location is difficult. It is not easy/impossible to find cabs and one has to practically walk uphill for 20 minutes or so to reach the property. The mattresses are not good.

The host was very kind. Room is really nice. Thank you for a lovely stay!

It was very cold inside the room in January but in summer it's probably fine. Also, the property is located about 30min away from city center and isn't very easy to find.

Cool apartment with all mod cons, though not in town

This is a fun little apartment. It's a series of rooms including a magnificent underground bedroom ... it's like sleeping in a cave! The flat is connected to a couple of others, including that owned by the host, who was very helpful. The kitchen was great; I cooked for one of the few times on my trip. The entire apartment has been decorated by someone with a fine eye; there's a feel of rustic comfort throughout, yet some interesting modern art as well: it is certainly not 'cookie-cutter' "just like all the others" accommodation.

The location is high up a long hill, which is difficult for a cyclist, and the property is quite difficult to find, and parking is not close. It's in an old-town series of alley-ways, and the listed address is not much help. Google Maps could not find it: you are better off looking for the Villa Vigoni which is 20 meters away. There are some restaurants nearby, but you will need to go down the hill to Menaggio for more choices, or for a supermarket. Neither the title nor the picture looked like the actual place I stayed.
