Exceptional for the money

Will certainly stay again next time I’m in Manchester. Definitely a little gem of a hotel.

The only negative is that they don’t serve breakfast, but there are cafes etc close at hand so not a major negative.

Nice place sadly ruined by equipment noise

It was a great room, nice shower, well equipped, great blackout blinds Food was really nice in the pub, staff friendly

There was a noise ALL night, not sure if it’s a freezer, generator air con system or what but it hummed constantly so sleep was elusive 😢 Room 3

Cheap and just adequate

Good location, easy check in

Sofa bed wasn't comfy, almost a sheet for a mattress, no fridge in the room, bathroom was clean enough but very basic, toilet flush wasn't good. We had to use an ice bucket to flush the toilet manually

Highly recommended

Small hotel above a large pub, nice quiet location. Pub well furnished, good menu, cooked well and reasonably priced. 10 min walk to tram station in to Manchester.

Breakfast not available as pub doesn't open until 12.

Decent family stay

Good sized room, tea and coffee facilities, easy check in and out. It is above pub but no noise from the pub at all. Good parking facilities. Sofa bed was great for a family stay. Good standard of cleaning. Pub was nice for a drink in the evening with log fires. Bus stop outside with regular transport to the city.

The shower was a bit leaky, not a plug socket next to both sides of the bed but all very minor and a good stay for the price considering it was marathon weekend.

Perfect for a 1 or 2 day stay

Was greeted with friendly staff to check in. Fully explained everything, including early check out procedure. Large room, nice bathroom. Powerful shower, plenty of hot water. No problems at all. Would stay again and definitely recommend.

my second stay here: would return.

it’s very clean and the staff leave you to your own devices.

But… it’s not cheap, and it could do with a phone in the room to call down to reception if there is something missing or wrong.

great value for money and the room was way bigger than expected, check in was easy and the staff were really friendly and helpful

the sofa bed wasn’t the most comfortable and was quite squeaky whenever you moved

I would recommend this accommodation great location easy access to transit. Staff amazing.

lots of character, great value, good food choices for lunch and dinner and staff were amazingly helpful and friendly.

Would have liked a breakfast option just something simple like croissants maybe.

Ideal stress free accomodation

We chose this hotel for it's proximity to Heaton park for lighttopia which it was perfect for. We booked a family room which was advertised as a large double and a sofa bed. I assumed we'd make the sofa bed up but it was made for our arrival. The bed was much bigger than a double and large enough that when our 3year old wanted to come into our bed in the middle of the night there was comfortably enough room for him. Room was really spacious nicely decorated and good value. Staff were helpful. I was worried it would be noisy because of the pub but we honestly didn't hear a thing and the accomodation is well secured from the pub area. We would definitely stay here again. I've previously paid much more for much worse accomodation in Manchester!!

I'd be nit picking to put anything here. It was honestly fine.

Very enjoyable.The Woodthorpe boosted our pleasure and left us with happy memories.Hope to return.

The architecture, sense of history and location and the wonderful pub downstairs.

The packets of coffee were not the best.My wife liked the tea however.

Just the pub bit

Mattress had no protective cover, bedding was not a good quality, toilet seat broke, plug wouldn't come out of sink when inserted, very unhappy should really be refunded, asked to move room but no more were available.

There was a persistent noise that made it very difficult to sleep even with earplugs & as I was out early & back late never any staff around to alert.

Lovely building, lovely room, sort out the noise, it’s letting you down.

The room was lovely, everything you needed, a d so ifs, a TV, bathroom with a bath to relax in, tea, coffee and biscuits, we were really pleased with the room.

There was a noise all night, intermittently, there was an air con unit on the outside wall of our room that kicked into action action at regular intervals, every time you were just dropping off to sleep, it would start up, very noisy, ruined what would have been a really good nights sleep as the bed was so comfortable, such a shame. We were in room 3.
