Spacious room, dinner restaurant very nice, easy access for luggage, parking nearby, green landscapes.
Breakfasts were ok, very much a golf resort, lacked a little charm.
10.0
Breakfast beautiful lots of choice.
Dinner was delicious. Lovely lady in restuarant let me taste three different glasses of red wine until I found one I liked. Really went the extra mile.
Room small but exceptionally clean and decor fabulous
House keeping were on top of their game which was appreciated going out and coming back to a clean room with fresh towels
Would have preferred a double bed in the room as the two single beds pushed together was a little uncomfortable when we wanted a cuddle .

Beautiful room in a gorgeous setting, with wonderful meals

The fantastic, professional and genuinely friendly team. We keep coming back! The unspoiled and pristine natural environment. The terrific views. The amazing Equestrian centre and super professional team there.
I struggle to think. I think this was our 39th or 40th visit so if there is anything it’d have to be incredibly minor!

Very clean , brilliant service and staff were friendly and great with children
Only down side was limited channels on the tv . Would be great if they had some channels for kids . This is a minor issue .

Service and staff in the main house. Especially the gentleman meeting/greeting, taking bags to rooms etc… so helpful & friendly. Full of knowledge. Beds were super comfy.
Breakfast was really good.
I thought the suite would be more impressive in saying that it was nice.
Lady with the long blonde hair with bling hairband & rouge was good at her job but she was blunt and in the rude side to other staff.

Stayed at Christmas time and it was lovely. Lovely grounds with activities - pool, gym cinema, horse riding, cycling etc. Food in restaurant was brilliant! staff all very approachable and helpful.
check in quite slow but staff friendly / helpful

Such a cosy and comfortable hotel, you feel so relaxed with the style of the hotel and the surroundings, plenty of walking trails and activities to do
This stay was great, however one thing we did notice was a few hair on the bed sheets upon arrival, and when getting into the bed noticed there was what looked like blood or a red stain on the sheets. Although it was late at night we did not mention anything to the hotel to amend this however for the price it was slightly disappointing to see, otherwise an overall great stay

Excellent in all areas. One of my favourite places to stay for a weekend away.
Nothing -everything was excellent

The rooms were warm, spacious and cosy. Shower was a power shower, very hot with shampoo etc. provided.
Beds were very comfy.
Tea & coffee in the rooms and room service were great at bringing us fresh milk.
Swimming pool was really big and there is a baby pool for the kids which is very handy. Robes and towels provided.
Spa books up quickly so do book in advance.
The breakfast was brilliant, lots of choice, divine porridge and fresh pastries.
Throughout our entire stay the staff were wonderful.
The children's mac & cheese was disappointing, we did mention it to the staff and they took the item off the bill. The pasta was overcooked, the sauce was watery and the cheese hadn't been melted or grilled. Additionally the cauliflower gratin was watery, the cheese sauce had little consistency and again hadn't been grilled. The scotch egg to start was also dry.
However, the mains and breakfast definitely made up for these minor issues.

Everything, it’s an absolutely beautiful estate with some wonderful views, the rooms are spacious and yet never too far from the facilities

Really well run hotel. Staff is very polite, everything is quite up to standard, spa/pool is also very nice and breakfast (what's offerred) good quality. Rooms are nice and big and I especially like underfloor heating in the bathroom. Was impressed how they managed to clean the room in the one hour we were away, and also how quickly they brought in the cot when we requested one.
The frosted golf course around also looked surreal.
If I had to nitpick, the main annoyance was the extra charge for some prepped meals for breakfast (like eggs Benedict for example) and a lack of any fresh vegetables options (eg. tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers etc).

My Sisters and I really enjoyed our stay we didn't think the hound restaurant met our dining needs main courses were ok but needed veg and potatoes better sides dessert not 5 star standard. We had dinner in the Club house ón the Saturday night wider main course choice and friendly relaxed service.
See last answer. 😁 Eddie in the Club house very welcoming and brilliant personality.

Location and spa and gym area.
Unfortunately things have changed in the space of a year. Breakfast is buffet style along with charges for items that were included before. Staff were slow to serve and engage. The swimming pool heating element was broken, cold water. Tiles missing in the pool area and no water cups left out for residents. The cinema had the incorrect movies in.the Manor House. The food has most definitely declined in taste and appeance when served to us compared to other years. The golf course was closed and check in was painfully slow with one staff member only working.
5 star not so much anymore.

The beds are very comfortable and the underfloor heating in the bathroom. The food in the Hound restaurant is good, BUT the menu lacks ‘tasty’ casual options. Meal for two, sharing a starter and a desert, bottle of house white, was over €150.
The pool and spa area are simply not 5 star and it was a major disappointment. The pool was cold, they don’t have a jacuzzi, and the steam room and sauna provide space for 3 people maximum.
We won’t be returning to MJ due to this.

Breakfast Loved the variety of choice. Staff brilliant. Loved the rashers.
Dinner.. Just my opinion not enough choice.
Ate in The Hound. But what I got was very good.

Loved the very comfortable bedrooms. Loved the breakfast (superb choice), pool, steam room & spa.
Bedroom and bathroom lighting could be better. Very little space in bathroom for toiletries.
Due to design of shower enclosure, bathroom floor quite wet after showering.

Very good service. Room was fantastic. Breakfast was very nice. Fantastic views from dining area.
No jacuzzi in pool area. Dinner was mediocre. Bar was very small in my opinion. Extra charge for a la carte items at breakfast (€18 for Eggs Benedict), very surprised by this.

The room service was awful

L'ambiente e il contesto
I spent only one night in this facility. I've booked a King Room. When we arrived, without any previous notice, we were assigned an accessible room. As you know this sort of room are much less confortable if you are not in a wheel chair and has an overall "health accomodaion feeling". Not to mention that for us it's very annoying to ask a change of room, the first phrase of thedirector was "We're pretty full". I paid for a King Room, if theywere full they shouldn't have taken my reservation (in April by the way). Most of all I hope not to have taken this room at an authentic disabled person.

No adult area in the Spa.

Very happy with cleanliness decor and sumptuous bed.House keeping dropped 2 treats at night and extra water very nice touch.
Shared toiletries and shelf needed in bathroom to put things on space limited.Noise outside door at 2.30 in morning as room near reception.

Beautiful quite surroundings and very professional service and staff were great. Lovely breakfast and bar areas. Golfing was great too and will definitely visit again
The bar shutting at 2am disappointing but we were at a wedding all weekend so it was great service and craic up until then.
4.0
The bedroom was lovely and we had a great night sleep. Cycling on the grounds was beautiful too and the staff were all lovely.
The pool area was not 5 stars. No relaxation area, the glass around the pool was dirty. You had to wear swim caps which is not standard in 5 star hotels anymore. Just felt like you are at your local swimming pool- really let the place down.
Great location if you love golf and have kids it seems.
The food was poor - there is 3 locations to eat but nothing really on the menu was light and fresh. They serve the same bread in all locations so you are sick of it by day one.
Breakfast offering was very standard- no poached eggs unless you paid €12 extra.
