Very convenient location to stay in the Gokayama area. The ryokan staff are friendly and welcoming. Dinner and breakfast are highly recommended to choose when making reservations. The food served is local and very tasty.

The traditional Japanese breakfast was superb.
Good location and base to explore Gokyama.... but expensive for what it is. People smoking in the corridors.

Japanese style breakfast and dinner are perfect. Onsen is big and the facilities provided are good. The bed room is quite big enough for our family of five.
Overall experience at this place is very satisfied.

Right on the bus stop. Very traditional Japanese style. Clean and nice onsen. Fantastic dinner and breakfast. If you want to have authentic Japanese holiday experience, you have to try this at least for one night.

Dinner was awesome! Everything else was below expectations.
Old-fashioned rooms and general decoration, not especially convenient location (luckily we had a car), far too expensive, and unbelievably rude staff (one woman, in particular. She even went so far as to wave a pair of dirty socks belonging to other customers (it was lost in the public bath and she thought it must be ours...) in our faces during dinner...)

Great location, very authentic experience, very good food, quiet , small but good onsen, pretty dining rooms, and although the staff don’t speak much English are very friendly. We had the place to ourselves in winter which was really fun.
Interiors are dated and it has an overall feel of being once quite smart but now a little tired. It seemed a little expensive for the overall experience.

The room was very spacious and equipped with hot water, tea, delicious cakes and a wonderful private seating area. The traditional Japanese dinner and breakfast were complimentary and were delicious. Using the onsen was a luscious experience. We got a glimpse of what the Japanese living quarters were like for the merchants and samurai of old. It was a highly relaxing and rejuvenating stay.
