About this house rental
This is a magnificent brand new built home, just completed June 2018. It has 6 bedrooms and 3.5 bath's situated on the St. Lawrence River. It is perfect for family vacations, reunions, couples retreats, or fishing getaways. One of the very few private cottages on Wellesley Island that can accommodate up to 16 people. Wake up to a spectacular view of the sun rising over the St. Lawrence River while you watch the international ships passing a few hundred feet from your dock. This cottage is accessible by boat or car. Over 150' of private dockage onsite, so bring your boat and water toys. Onsite parking for up to 6 vehicles. Trailers can be stored at the state park down the road for a small fee paid to the park. It doesn't get any easier than that!!! With over 3/4 of an acre of fenced-in, park-like setting, you will feel like you are on your own private estate. Never worry about losing your key. House has a key-less entry lock with a back light keypad. Code is changed at the end of your stay. Recently purchased in 2013, and rebuilt from the ground up in June 2018. It has wonderful new amenities. The master bedroom suite is on the second floor with a King bed and ceiling fan. Second floor balcony is located off the master suite, you can relax and take in the breath taking views. There is another bedroom on the second floor with a king bed. Two Full bathrooms with tub/shower, double sink and toilet. Two more bedrooms upstairs with queen over queen bunks. Downstairs there is a bedroom with a queen bed & in the game room, there is a queen sofa sleeper. There is a full bathroom with tub/shower and double vanity. There is a 1/2 bath also on the first floor. Enjoy the large open floor plan of the living room and kitchen with panoramic views of the river. All linens and pillows are included. Please feel free to use our fire pit. Also, enjoy our large furnished patio and propane grill. Grounds are professionally maintained. All the comforts of your own home with a washer and dryer in a separate laundry room. Dishwasher, sinkerator, large refrigerator/freezer, large island in kitchen. Only a few miles away, take the Uncle Sam Boat Tour to see Boldt Castle, Singer Castle, and Canada. See Thousand Islands Park, a community filled with old-fashioned charm including original merchant buildings from the mid-1800’s, Victorian-style homes, and make a reservation for a memorable dinner at the four-star Wellesley Hotel. Visit the Antique Boat Museum in Clayton, the War of 1812 Museum in Alexandria Bay, and enjoy good prices on shopping in area towns. Crystal clear waters make for the best fishing around. Watch the fish swim right before your eyes as you relax on our dock. Bring your passports for the short drive into Canada for more shopping, sightseeing, and entertainment. Owners may be on the property in a separate building.

Wonderful property that is exactly as advertised. Beautiful house from top to bottom with all the amenities you might need for a week long stay. Location is perfect for both Alex Bay and Clayton, TI Country Club and Boldt Castle. Will be coming back again soon!!!

We stayed at this property for a Celebration of Life for a passed family member. The property managers are outstanding! We had an issue prior to checking in and they went above and beyond to accommodate us. This house has plenty of bathrooms and can work well for 14-16 people. Queen Bunks! The kitchen is well stocked for serving large gatherings and has everything you need. The view is great and you can almost touch the huge cargo ships that pass frequently. We tried hard to think of something that wasn’t spot on and failed miserably.
A special thanks to Janet!! She was super attentive to change requests and phone calls. This is a first class property owned and managed by first class individuals. Do Not Hesitate to book this property.

Family Time in Prime Location
This is our family’s third year at this vacation rental, and it continues to impress. We loved being able to play outdoor games in the expansive yard and dining outside at the large umbrella tables. Central air was especially appreciated due to the heat wave that week. The kitchen is well-equipped, and the open floor plan gives plenty of room for family members to spread out. We’ll be back.

We rented a pontoon boat and easily boated to surrounding places of interest. Even though it's right on the main channel, the cottage is located in a small bay so we could paddle around on kayaks and paddle boards out of the way of the main boat traffic.

We also enjoyed Wellesley Island State Park and Thousand Island Park that are just 10 minute drive from the house. The house was great for our family. When we arrived we were way short on towels. Never did get enough. Could have used a heads up on how to use the grill. Water was very low swimming not great. We bought six wine glasses and left them. Overall we had a great time.

Great Family Vacation
This was our 3rd year staying in this beautiful house, so that shows how much we enjoy it. Watching ships passing by while relaxing on the porch was a favorite pastime, and the large table in the great room was perfect for family card playing and games. Jerry and Janet always respond quickly to any questions, which shows their commitment to their guests. We’ll be returning next year.

Great location and great hosts.
Our party of 8 (4 adults and 4 kids) had a wonderful time on our recent trip to Wellesley Island and the 1000 Islands. The house Is right on the river and has a dock that easily accommodated the pontoon boat we rented. The owners, Jerry and Janet, were quick to answer all of our questions and the house was well equipped with kitchen items, games, blankets, etc. The house has a very welcoming feel and the kids were very comfortable in the house as well as in the yard. The house is right on the river so if you have young children, as we do, you will need to watch them. That said, the area directly bordering the yard and the dock is relatively shallow and the water was not quick moving. We did choose to travel at the end of the busy season but found a lot of things to do and the weather was perfect. I would recommend this location and this house.

Overall, the property was clean and very well kept. The location was easy to find and not too far away from local conveniences. Enjoyed the time on the water and time with my family!

Perfect Family Vacation
Our family rented this beautiful house for the second summer in a row. It’s wide open interior allows for everyone to spread out, while enjoying the comfort of central air conditioning on hot summer days. A favorite spot is the front porch, where you can sit and watch the ships go by. Can’t wait to go back!

Great substitution
Great set up for family interacting we have been going to Canada for years and had to come up with a substitution this year. Everyone was expecting to be a bit disappointed. Everyone had a blast making new memories ina great place.

Be careful
Beautiful home right on the river, great spot! We were 6 adults with 4 kids. We went 4 days without the gas grill working, called owners about it not working right away, first they told us to turn it on and it would heat up, like we didn’t know how to run a gas grill. It was filthy, clogged and regulator wasn’t working properly. Jerry wanted my son in law to fix it! He was uncomfortable doing that so finally someone who worked for their builder came on Tuesday, who was very nice, and replaced the regulator on Wednesday. Needless to say we could only use the gas grill 3 out of 8 days. We were charged for a ding in the hardwood floors by the downstairs patio doors that was there before us. They charged us $475! Make sure you look there and take pictures as soon as you arrive or you will be charged too! When you read past reviews you will see that one year every renter was charged for the same broken air hockey table, thank goodness that is gone!

Wellesley Island Gem
Our extended family enjoyed a wonderful reunion at this beautifully appointed home. Jerry and Janet thought of everything to make guests feel comfortable and welcomed, and they answered any questions we had immediately. The location was perfect, and we enjoyed watching the ships pass by from the large front porch. We have already booked a return visit for next year, as we all agreed that this house is truly a Wellesley Island gem.

Everything we needed
Our family had a great week at this property. We especially appreciated the fact that the dock was usable even with the high water. We rented a party boat and were able to dock it without a problem. The kitchen was well equipped - lots of dishes and silver. There was even a waffle maker and pop corn machine. Wonderful place for a family vacation.

River Week 2019
My family had a wonderful stay at this property. It was a beautiful location with every amenity available. Because the river was so high it did make the dock a challenge, however Jerry had set up barrels so were were still able to dock and use or boat. The fishing was great!!! If your family is looking for a place everyone can be together this was an excellent set up with plenty of space.
We would recommend it. Our family has been renting summer homes in The 1,000 islands for the past ten years in a row and have had a lot of experience with different rental properties. Just highly recommend if you stay here to purchase property damage insurance, especially if traveling with young children.

The best of everything in the 1000 Islands!
From the moment we contacted Janet and Jerry about renting a year ago to the moment we left our rental, we had a fantastic experience. The home is brand new and gorgeous - luxury accommodations, plenty of room for a large group, stunning views of the river, and amazing perks outside (the dock, outdoor kitchen including the grill, a lot of seating options on the multiple decks and outdoor patios sets, play area, etc.). The owners have thought of everything to make guests comfortable, including providing linens, a/c when needed, a stocked kitchen with all of the bells and whistles, and those fancy bathrooms! Wow. Janet and Jerry were always available for questions. We've been staying on Wellesley Island for years and this was our favorite rental by far for so many reasons. We will definitely be returning! The house lives up to the pictures! Very Spacious, very modern. Scenic views of the river. This house is great for both families or getting a group of friends together as we did. Looking forward to coming back in the summer!

Sorry it wasn't perfect, but could have been!
The house was enjoyable on the inside all brand new from being rebuilt from the fire. The outside was in need of work. It was hard to get into Kayaks because the floating dock had a horrible old row boat on it. The yard needed work but that was due to construction.
The owner has cameras placed on his big expensive boat that takes up the driveway that you are not allowed to use. I received a text on the third day of vacation from the owner threatening to throw us out of the house because we broke a rule about the driveway. Sorry! The cars were moved immediately and he asked to be called. I phoned him and he proceeded to yell at me on the phone for 3 minutes. I will express again he YELLED at me. This of course but a damper on our vacation for about 24 hours.
I received my security deposit 35 days after check out. They said the check was in the mail and must have gotten lost. The owners were away at the time and had no banking information with them. I find this hard to believe with all our smart phones and computers. Wrong! My husband and I were VRBO owners for 5 years and I can assure you we would have done everything possible to get our renters their money. While staying at this house we wired a tenant money owed and paid the charge. This is how it should be done!
Even if rule number 6 out of 20 was broken you don't need to YELL at someone.
The location is nice. You may want to bring an umbrella for the tables at the dock, it is too hot to sit down there.

DO NOT RENT FROM THESE PEOPLE
Janet and Jerry will be very nice to you before your stay but once you get into their rental things will change. First of all we had some of the same experiences as the previous reviewer Linda. It doesn't list in their description that you can't pull into their driveway even to unload. Once we got there the owners sent me a message saying they could see I had parked in their driveway, and they are afraid someone is going to hit their precious speed boat. The only reason I did pull in was to let my 83 year old mother out as she has trouble walking and couldn't make the walk down the uneven stone driveway, nor the slanted paved path on the other side of the house, and also to unload some of our very heavy bins of food. They have cameras and will check them then send you a message to "get out of their driveway immediately!" Also, I do not believe this house was up to code and they probably shouldn't have been allowed to rent it as there were no handrails on the stairs inside, and my elderly mother and sister with M.S. had a very hard time getting up and down the stairs without any railings. When we first arrived, there was a gauge in the wall in the mudroom, which we immediately took a picture of and reported to the owners, also there were finger prints all over the counters and fridge and hair and dirt all over the small rugs in hallways and bathrooms. We let the owners know that their house wasn't properly cleaned before we arrived by their cleaner and about the gauge in the wall. They ended up blaming the wall on us. When we turned on the faucet to the spa tub for the first time it leaked from the base, they said we turned it off too tight and blamed it on us (we couldn't have turned it off too tight as we had just once turned it on and it leaked). We reported the air hockey game broken and they tried to blame it on us, and as I can see from the previous reviewer who stayed there before us it was broken then. The outside area is mostly mud with seed, not as advertised, and the cement pad was caked with mud and the grill was dirty. We had to clean both .If you rent here, expect to have to clean when you arrive and get blamed for anything you report to them. The owners even tried to blame us for a gauge on the laundry room wall that we did not do. They kept $250 of our deposit, and let me tell you we left that place a lot cleaner and nicer than it was when we got there. I have filed a formal complaint against them with VRBO, they deserve it.

Beautiful Home That Shouldn't Be A Rental
There was 8 adults and 5 children in our group that stayed here.This home was very nice and modern.The area around it was beautiful. We enjoyed our time there. We did have issues. The first huge problem was that Jerry and Janet falsely advertised the home. When we rented this place we thought we were getting a 4 bedroom home with a big game room and a sun porch that had alot of parking and nice yard. The game room, parking . and yard was our biggest reasons for renting this place because we had children. 3 weeks or so before going on our vacation we see a couple pictures had changed we contact them to find out the original home had burned down. which we were never notified. When we arrived they were still working on the home so we had to wait 45 mins to check in. The parking was all along a busy narrow road and you were not allowed to use the drive way. which would have been great to have know since my father in law has a disability and has trouble walking. Which he did fall numerous times walking down the sloped walk way to the other door. The house was bigger so less lawn. oh what lawn? half of it was just seeded so we couldn't walk on it and there was glass around the yard so we had to be careful where we walked. The owners drove by on their jet skis almost everyday to check up on us. Then they had left their boat there so they had to come get that 2 days. So you're under watch. There was sheet rock dust all over the walls .they had locks on the thermostats so you couldn't adjust the temp so we would be cold during the day hot at night. They had no railings coming down the stairs. No GFI outlets near any water sources no outlet covers in one of the bedrooms. We had brown water for 2 days after it rained. They made custom bunk beds out of pine even the slats. The last day we were there my pregnant sister in law sat on the foot of the bed and one of the slats cracked and broke thank god she wasn't hurt. The slat where it broke was at a knot in the wood which you shouldn't use a soft would for slats. They didn't return part of our deposit because they said they had to bring in their builder to fix the bed, they tried to say our kids were fighting 5 mins after we were there and knocked the solar light off the railing nope my niece bumped it coming outside and Janet picked it up and said to Jerry shouldn't we glue theses things down.Piece of crap air hockey table that was broke when we arrived they said we broke it.

Loved it!
We had a great week! The house was perfect for our family group of 14! Lots of space inside and out and a great location. The kids loved watching the big ships go by (and the adults too 😀). The owners are really helpful.

Amazing location
We rented this for a short birthday getaway and it was a great decision. Plenty of room, well appointed kitchen, everything for a great stay. Close to state parks, Alexandria Bay, and Canada, we used it as a jumping off point to explore the whole area. The river was beautiful, nice dock. Each night we spent by the fire watching ships pass. Would definitely come back.

Perfect St. Laurence Getaway
This lovely home on the St. Laurence River was the perfect spot for our extended family of 14 to gather for our summer vacation. We had everything we needed, from a well appointed kitchen, to an ample supply of towels, to a conveniently located laundry room. There was even a row boat for paddling around the river. There were places to gather as a family as well as quiet spots to read or just watch the river. The children enjoyed the shallow water off the dock and the adults appreciated the constant cool breeze under the trees on the large double lot. The fire pit near the water was a great spot for camp fires and marshmallow roasting. Everyone agrees that this was our best vacation ever!
