Something to remember.

The location at a high place was very good to have a look at the whole city.

Overall everything on offer could be rated very good.

Excellent place to stay in Kandy

Everything was exceptional! Stayed for a day during our visit to the sacred temple. Got a room with great views of Udawaththa forest and the pool at the top and terrace above has magnificient views of the Bahirawa Kanda temple and the Buddha statue. Staff were very helpful and friedly. Team at the restaurant was amazing. They treated my fuzzy eating 3 year old with great care and even gave him some treats to enjoy afterwards. Thank you very much!

Nothing much to like there ..the staff was not very great to talk to ..they had a lot of charges for the baby milk , the room was also average , overall not a good property to stay

Great location, friendly staff , relaxing and elegant lobby. Definitely outstanding.

Air conditioning was not working n management failed to address it. Finally, changed alternative room, but too late to enjoy..

Welcome with smiles n room upgrade. Also management acknowledged our wedding anniversary with bed decorations n 🎂 cake. Excellent personal service by Mr Smith, Dining n beverage manager. Duty manager Hasi made his promise good and offered complimentary buffet dinner to make up the sleepless night due to faulty A/C ..

Will never stay here again. A big no no.

Gym, pool and poolside bar. Food was good in buffet.

Rooms are musty. Don’t have plugs for charging. Location is poor. Transport is a major issue. Hotel only has vans that are very expensive. Hotel staff normally refuses to assist in arranging local transport. We were at the mercy of the Tuk Tuk drivers who charged grossly arbitrary fares. Uber is scarce. The local travel app Pick Me is extremely unreliable. On the morning of departure, despite a 24 hour advance confirmed booking, they canceled at the last minute. We were saved by the guy at the reception who made an exception and called a local tuk tuk.

Convenient stop on your way to the natural reserve.

The views and the staff

Building needs serious renovation. Tiles in the bathroom had dark spots also the carpet on the floor needs a deep vacuuming.

Okay for a short stay

Roof garden had a wonderful view. Breakfast buffet was good

We arrived at around 4 and room wasn’t ready. Came back at around 8 and they couldn’t find the key… service can be improved

Perfect 10!

This is an exceptional hotel. We had the most wonderful stay here. The staff were super friendly and attended to our every need. The hotel has beautiful interiors and our room was supremely well furnished with everything that we needed. There were lovely mountain views. The breakfast was delicious with every taste catered for in an excellent buffet. We booked a transfer from Colombo Airport and to Galle. The transport was comfortable and punctual. There were nice touches for Christmas and the entertainment in the evening was most welcome. We would definitely use this hotel for any return to Kandy. Highly recommended. Thank you so much for a memorable stay!

Great hotel!

Very opulent hotel, good value for money. It is situated a little out of town but a short tuktuk ride and you’ll be there. Staff are excellent!

It is starting to show signs of wear - wallpaper curling off at the seams in places, light bulb not working in bedside table, if you stay in one of the rooms under the restaurant it’s very noisy!

Fantastic stay

Everything was wonderful. Good facilities, friendly staff and great place. Wonderful view overlooking Uddawatekele sanctuary and sacred tooth relic.

As the hotel is located on a hill top, and if you don't have any transport, it will be a bit troublesome for you to walk up to the hotel carrying a luggage. The slope from the bottom to the hotel is about 650m high.

I recommend this hotel to everyone

The atmosphere of the hotel is reminiscent of an old British hotel. The staff is very nice. A small thing very much appreciated: ironing a shirt could be done at costs that were competitive with those back home. Excellent location: you can walk to the main attractions. The supervisor at the restaurant is a very good employee of this hotel and does a fantastic job at making sure that all the employees are doing everything perfect! Great job sir! The value for money is great.

Everything was great, however, I think that the restaurant should be on the ground floor, and perhaps a coffee shop, the jewelry, etc. The lobby feels empty! Obviously that's not a big deal.

Luxury hotel offering very well laid out rooms and great facilities. The breakfast and dinner buffets were outstanding with great choices of selection. The rooftop pool is a great place to relax and enjoy the views of Kandy Hills.

VIEW. BEAUTIFUL VIEW. LOVED, LOVED, LOVED. THE ROOM WAS EXCELLENT!!!!

THE ABILITY TO GO OUT AND EXPLORE, EVERYTHING IS FAIRLY CLOSE, I LOVED THAT AND THAT IS WHY I CHOSE IT. THE DOWNFALL WAS THAT WALING DOWN TO GO TO EXPLORE, IT WAS SO HARD TO WALK UP TO THE HOTEL!!! IT'S GREAT BUT THE HEAT DID NOT MAKE IT BETTER. I WOULD HAVE LOVED TO HAVE SCOOTERS TO RENT AND NOT BE WORRIED ABOUT THE WALK GOING UP THE HILL.

A hotel with a difference-An experience not to be missed!! One of the loveliest hotels we’ve ever stayed in! Service was top class. The ambiance of the lobby was remarkable and eye-catching. Our arrival and departure was pleasant; was promptly attended by the concierge and the front desk. We would like to recognise Shehani (Resevation team) for making a real extra mile to offer our check in and check out requests -Thanks kindly! During our stay we patronised two restaurants Lemongrass and tamarind,which was truly an amazing experience. My husband is a vegetarian and he had the extensive selection of dishes available to him. The restaurant teams were outstanding, led by the gracious and charismatic Hillary Smith. The food was perfect - Hats off to the kitchen staffs and the service team for serving the mouth watering porridges ,delicate desserts, spicy curries, warm & crisp naan breads and almost melt-in-your-mouth - and these are just some highlights! Staff were professional, courteous,outgoing and friendly. Housekeeping and laundry services were on point. Spacious rooms, everything you expect in a five star hotel is available. We were treated like VIPs, got all sorts of complement treats, and enjoyed the best views in the Kandy city 10 out of 10 experience! “The grand Kandyan team”-we will return!

The location and the food were very good . The staffs were helpful and kind , they did whatever they could do for us to feel comfortable and happy, especially Miss Shehani the reservation officer.

Centrally located and very close to all the attractions. Easy to find with good signage. Beautiful view from the room and hotel itself was very clean and well presented.

Some areas look like they need a bit of maintenance but otherwise we’ll maintained. For example the air conditioning unit was very loud but didn’t affect our stay.

Only annoying thing: live singer till quite late in the lobby, and due to shape of building, music resonnated and was still quite loud on upper floors. Very good night sleep once it stopped though

Very pleasant and relaxing.

The Excellent Service of the Staff. Especially the service in the Restaurant. The service from Mr Hillary Smith and Mr Upatissa Basnayake was Par Excellence.

In my opinion the decor could have been of Sri Lankan Kandyan style and design and not Thai because of the hotel name The Grand Kandyan.
