Great breakfast included, super friendly and helpful staff and owners. The chalet is situated in a diverse, green and lush forest park, with lots of birds around. Nice walking possibilities to the nearby forests. Well equipped bar and restaurant with everything you might want.
An unexpected plus was the included tea service everyday in the afternoon.
Just minor things: The bed could use a new matress soon. It's a bit soft in the middle for my liking. The shower could use a curtain, to avoid setting the bathroom under water.

It was very quite a d green
The food was not good and there is only egg and bacon option for breakfast

Great location for our travels
Great staff
Good food
Brilliant value
Mosquito nets aren't over beds well, so I couldn't use them as they would touch face and pillows
As they are single beds, they were cold with small bed duvet and only 1 blanket between two people for the time of year where temperature drops it would be good to have a blanket on each bed

scenery
no ac, mattress was worn down. No wfi in room.No bed lamps. Miskito net was useless.

The lodge was conveniently nearby Lilongwe. We just needed a night on a road from Zambia to Lake Malawi.
My main complaint is the dirty rooms. I totally understand basic furnishings, however I was not impressed with the cleanliness. How hard it is clean windowsills ot toilet seats from dust just before the guests arrive? Also, there was no hot water in shower and lots of spiderwebs crossing pathways around the property. It could have been an easy fix. Unfortunately I would not feel comfortable recommending the place to others.

Food in general was pretty great at a decent price
square frames for the mosquito nets would be a great improvement

I loved everything about this place!
The power is a big problem.

Nice idyllic surroundings with greenery, good water pressure (hot), kettle in the room is handy. I had chicken tikka masala for dinner and somewhat unexpectedly it was very good! I was continuing to Zambia, so was convenient to catch a mini-bus towards the border
It is located out of town, so if you don’t have own transport - 20min walk to the main road to catch a mini-bus or 10-15eur taxi (40eur from the airport). Frequent power cuts are common in Malawi, but they give you a powerful torch.

We enjoyed the beautiful place. The care of the people to give us a happy stay. The breakfast was taken at a later time and we were glad that they gave us this opportunity. The stew with rice and salad als were good prepared.

Breakfast was good - just be careful of ordering filter coffee - they charge R35 a cup - which is usually the price for a full pot of coffee in Malawi ? Otherwise staff are friendly & helpful, it was a great overnight stay.

The outdoor looks exceptional
Poor room keeping, beds not made daily, milk kept uncovered, wifi getting switched off from 9pm please keep it on 24hrs, rooms without tv we need some source of intertainment.

The place as a whole, it's got that vibe of being on a farm, only with no farm animals, we loved it, the bartenders were really good, the food wasn't that bad, kudos to the chef's, it was home away from home for those 4 days.
The beds might need Abit of upgrade, beddings needs to be changed, might need a mop or shower place should be enclosed, coz after taking a shower, there is water in the entire bathroom., Updating a map on Google and maybe install some kind of communication at the entrance, just for communication, letting the admin know there is someone at the gate, just to be on the safe side.

Staff was amazing. From the guys working in the garden to the restaurant staff. They really make the place. The owners were also friendly and welcoming.
There was no hot water for shower. One had to take a lukewarm shower after being rained on.

Had a great stay here! Staff is friendly, skilled and very helpful. The owner greeted me the moment I walked in and made me feel very welcome, much appreciated. Will definitely stay here again if I'm in Lilongwe!

Extremely helpful staff, comfortable room, delicious food, and in a serene environment.
Lodge is a little outside the city. But it's not too expensive to hire a car to town so it's manageable.

Arrived a day late due to border hassle. Room was kept, I was even upgraded.
Superb welcome. Wonderful room and great breakfast.
Signage to get there. I arrived in the dark and it was not so easy to find the entrance

The spacious rooms are set in beautiful gardens. On arriving one can immediately see that some "love" has been put into the lodge. The beds are comfortable with new mattresses and the rooms have been upgraded with new furniture making it very homely. The breakfast was delicious and perfectly cooked. Barefoot Lodge has come a long way since my last visit over a year ago and the owners should be commended on a great job.
The shower rose was blocked, hence, not very effective

Room is nice
The place was dirty and there was a used condom into the bin. They have to clean and empty bins before the new person coming in
