The place was great! If you are looking for that real colonial feel to isolate yourself from technology and feel the true essence of the hill country - this is the place to be. The Manager, Mr Manusanka was amazing from start to finish. The customer service was 5-star.

Landscape around the property and maintenance of the bungalow very good. Staff of 5 were polite, respectful and efficient.
The approach road to the bungalow, the last 1.2 km, is almost non-existent. When we visited, the kitchen was being run by a 19-year-old novice cook. While he was sincere, he needs to be trained properly if he should continue as the chef.

Excellent Location. Enjoyed the walk through the tea estate and the wonderful climate.
Beautiful bungalow with well appointed furniture. Cosy and comfortable
Sri Lankan food was very good. Western food not so much. There could be more variety to the menu

We were met by three lovely staff members, including the manager, who presented us with our key, a lovely homemade fruit juice and beautiful flowers. The property is gorgeous with its original colonial features set amongst some exceptionally maintained gardens in between the tea plantation. The room was large, potentially too big with a huge bathroom. The bed was the comfiest we have stayed at in Sri Lanka and it was a shame to only have one night in it. The wifi was only available in the seating room and when in there we were offered a local cup of tea and a roaring fire which was a lovely way to spend an evening after a long day travelling. Breakfast in the morning was eaten on the veranda overlooking the flowers as the birds sang which was an idyllic way to start the day. Ravindra, the manager, then gave us a walking tour of the plantation. They also had a generator which was vital as with the rolling power cuts this would have felt an eerie place to be with no electricity
The property is not in Nurawa Eliya, it is some 23km away along some pretty ordinary roads followed by a 1.5kM access road which was not fit for our drivers car, it would’ve felt bumpy in a jeep. This will take you 1 1/4 hours to get to from Nurawa Eliya. The road needs some serious maintenance just to make it Ok. The location is isolated which would be great if you were having a few days of complete recharging but if you want to go anywhere, especially for dinner, then this place is not for you. We were the only guests there which made it feel a little deserted and you must be willing to entertain yourself. It was also one of our most expensive places whilst in Sri Lanka and I would say not worth its current fee. Finally, we had agreed with the manager prior to going that we would be shown the inner workings of their tea manufacturing plant however despite receiving confirmation of this, it was closed on the day. The walk around the plantation was lovely but this was one of the main draws to this place so we were disappointed with that, especially seeing as we had to pay more to go for a tour at Pedros.

Very beautiful surroundings and garden. It’s quite an experience to live in an old house with history, far away from the city in the middle of tea plantations! Staff is very friendly, smiling and doing their best. They work hard to maintain big garden and keep the bungalow clean. The breakfast on the terrace with a view was a memorable thing.
Overpriced.
It’s a bit difficult to find. We turned on the wrong road and it took us some time to finally find the place.
Maybe it’s only during the covid times, but it seems to us that management or owners try to save money on staff and just hire people from the nearby local village. Don’t want to blame staff, they try to do what they can, but they are just not properly trained for the hotel like this and for service you expect for the price you pay.
The worst thing was a bug in the soup. We didn’t make an issue from it, but it was unpleasant. To sum up, it could be a wonderful experience but with a more professional touch and attention to villa from management side.

Beautiful bungalow & grounds, with atmospheric interiors
About 45 minutes from Nuwara Eliya and a difficult access road, especially at night. Service a little slow, and bedroom interiors bare - need a sofa & a coffee table. Plastic water jug for $300 a night!
