Beautiful waterfall views & Highlands Architect. Like nothing you've ever seen!
About this house rental
Come and enjoy nature with 90+ acres to roam with paths for long walks. Architect James Fox designed this cliff side home overlooking the beautiful Longnose Waterfall. Feel like you are in the trees, in an area that remains much as it was when inhabited by Cherokee Indians. The stream below Longnose Falls feeds into Lake Hartwell and can be a refreshing swimming spot in the summer months. Enjoy the peaceful sounds of the waterfall as you cozy by the fire to read or play games. On the weekends in warmer months and holidays you may see kayaks, jet skis, and small boats visit the falls. This property is in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. The architecture is much like Frank Lloyd Wright. The house is a unique blend of angles and windows to give you a beautiful view from anywhere in the house. The bedrooms provide breathtaking views of the waterfall and the surrounding forest. You can even view the waterfall from the oversized walk in shower. This house is perfect for a couple or 4 adults to unwind and unplug. This house is not ideal for younger kids as there are multiple steps leading down from the front door to the living area then again to the bathroom and bedrooms. A few house rules to note: 1) Please take your shoes off just after entering the house. This helps keep the place clean for everyone. 2) Unfortunately windows have been left open during rain storms and with air running, so the cranks have been removed from all windows to preserve the wooden interior of the home. Enjoy the house and outdoor feel without opening the windows. You can hear the waterfall even with the windows closed and there are 3 double doors facing the waterfall that lead to the deck that overlooks the falls. 3) Do not drive past the beginning of the 300 foot pathway that leads to the house. We have provided a rolling cart for your luggage and the pathway has lights, but if you plan to arrive after dark we do recommend having a flashlight for ease of unloading luggage. 4) The grill's charcoal is located in a plastic bin on the porch beside the grill and does not require lighter fluid. At the fireplace, there are fire starters. We've had guests use lighter fluid inside the house and this is dangerous, do NOT use lighter fluid inside the house. Thank you for your understanding. 5) This is a smoke free and pet-free home. 6) Burn only kiln-dried wood in the indoor fireplace- we provide one bundle of wood on the front porch. We look forward to sharing this beautifully unique home with you!

This was a great weekend. Great time to refresh a marriage to my best friend, my wife.

We made this a 2 day part of our end of summer road trip with our teenage children and it couldn't have been more perfect. Theres no WIFI and very limited cell service so during the rain or at night, puzzles were put together, board games played and lots and lots of talking. The views and having basically your own private waterfall just top it off as well as falling asleep to the the sound of the falls as night. Amazing!!

We really enjoyed the beautiful scenery and relaxing sound of the waterfall.

This was such a lovely unique home, like a treehouse in the woods, with amazing views. It was well supplied with everything we needed. Our family enjoyed our adventures including hiking, swimming by the waterfall, and kayaking. Thank you for allowing us to experience this wonderful place.

Simply wow! Awesome, unique experience
Coming from Asheville, NC, we are very familiar with Pisgah and all the amazing things it’s has to offer.
This house feels like it was plopped next to a waterfall that normally would take you hours to get to. Feels like Pisgah. It’s f*ing amazing.
You can setup chairs in the rapids above the falls next to the fire pit. There is a path down to the falls and it’s a great swimming hole.
Going down there to swim is an absolute must.
The owner warned of increased activity during a holiday weekend, and that was appreciated. It wasn’t terrible. Numerous groups came and went. It’s nature, it’s beautiful, it’s impossible to always have it to yourself! We stayed July 4th weekend, but came home on the 3rd. I’m sure the 3rd and 4th would be very busy.
Overall? Fantastic. Perfect place for a couple nights. And remember to get up close to the base if the falls! You’ll regret it if you don’t.

This is a beyond WOW property!
This home and property exceeded our wildest expectations! As great as the pictures are … they do not come close to the WOW you feel from the moment you park your car. The house is a masterpiece of construction, design and carpentry. It is well maintained, very comfortable and we had everything we needed. Just beyond the floor to ceiling glass is a magnificent waterfall and enchanting, private woodlands to explore. If you are looking for a once-in-a-lifetime VRBO experience this is it!

A Sister Retreat in an Enchanted Forest
Exceeded all expectations! Favorites- the mist rising all around in the early morning, being able to walk across the stream and submerge into the power waterfall,
walking toward the glowing amazing house along the uniquely lit winding path just after dusk and a pink sunset. Not seeing another person.

Our third stay, need I say more. If you love architecture, you will find no rental place more fascinating. It is an architectural wonder! Add a major waterfall and what else does one need? No wifi, no cable - perfect. We arrived with all of our food and didn't start the car again until we left 8 days later. Forget going out to dinner as there is nothing much even remotely close. Enjoy cooking something special.

Beautiful, unique one-of-a-kind structure. Incredible architecture and design. And blended into so much surrounding natural beauty! Excellent escape. Just don’t rely on Waze to take you directly to the final destination (or you may find yourself knocking on doors on gravel side roads asking for directions).

This property was amazing. We were not disappointed at all. Many Easter eggs to discover. The water falls and hiking was great. The host was absolutely responsive to all our emails and phone calls. (We were lost trying to find the property at 10pm and Bill answered our phone call and guided us in). Very good time and would be happy to return again.

The view from the "waterfall house" if everything you would hope for and more! Nothing like having your own raging waterfall outside your window. Amazing views, great house, fabulous fireplace. Would definitely recommend and stay here again!

You won't be disappointed in the location and the views, both inside and outside! It doesn't get much better than this. The host is very responsive and the place is a wonderful place to stay with friends when you just want to enjoy each others company. It is a unique house with unique views. It books quickly, so don't delay!

Beautiful House!
This was truly an architectural wonder! The pictures don’t do it justice. The description and assistance getting there was perfect and it was very clean and stocked with everything we needed. Something not mentioned before is there are both a keurig as well as a traditional coffee pot. We hiked several waterfalls within an hour or so radius and none were as beautiful as the one right in front of the house. I encourage anyone looking for a unique experience to try this house out!

Take me away
Upon seeing the exterior and then the interior of this oasis, your breath is taken away. It’s a very stunning piece of property. If you’re looking for a get-away with two full-size beds, this place is the very best! Having extolled that, full size mattresses was a hindrance to my husband and I sleeping together. That’s that. The kitchen was equipped well-enough; we had access to firewood for a beautiful fire; the caretaker forgot to leave the charcoal for the grill, but I finally got a hold of someone who told us how to get to the charcoal with a walk to the storage area. The tow cart for hauling your stuff back and forth to car was still broken. Sam left a voicemail saying he would be there the next day with it but left a voicemail the next day to say he couldn’t make it. I didn’t mind hauling my stuff. There were plenty of good windows from which to look, but as it must be difficult to clean them in such hard to reaches places, all views were not clear.
All in all, if we were in the area again, we would go back for a short resbit.

Photos can’t do it justice!
My husband and I stayed here 2/12-2/15. Beautiful one of a kind vacation rental. Unique decor and architecture along with the proximity to the waterfall makes this one of the best we have stayed at. No need to drive to a park and hike to a waterfall you have one right here. The parking and walk described gave me anxiety because I wasn’t sure what to expect but once there it made more sense. Pulling into driveway it forks, go to the right and park at top of rise just before the wagon and angel statue, the walkway is much smaller than the driveway so you should be able to tell the difference and not drive on the walkway. The walk to the house is like an enchanted forest but you do have pathway lights to use during your stay. First time to the house I would go during daylight hours just to get your bearings. Groceries are needed as you won’t want to leave the house (Ingles has amazing apple fritters in the morning). This house is magical- can’t wait to come back!

Highly recommend this beautiful cabin. We had mostly rainy days during our stay but this is THE place to be stuck inside. Views are incredible, the waterfall spectacular and the constant water sounds so relaxing. Ventured out when weather allowed and the property is beautiful. Helpful tips: arrive before dark as the footpath to the cabin is lengthy and pitch black at night. We learned this the hard way (thankful for iPhone flashlight,) as others have mentioned beds are fulls, there is some leaking and wood damage in shower but owner came to take pictures for repairman, there were a few bugs and spiders- but as expected given the remoteness of the cabin surrounded by nature. We’d definitely come back!
