The Solvang Delfin Huset (The Dolphin House) once a former Danish Swimming club , Dance hall and Cocktail lounge for the local community back in the early 1960s ...has now been newly renovated and refurbished into a quiet serene 5 bedroom, 4 full baths and 2 1/2 bath vacation home right in the center of the City of Solvang. The house is 1 block from the Solvang Festival Theater and 1 1/2 blocks from the center of the Solvang Village. This is also a vacation home with single level ranch style living accommodations. This beautiful home is the ideal spot for family reunions, small weddings, overnight business workshops and/or retreats. Although, no longer a pool , we now have a beautifully manicured garden,water fountain , 2 large patio areas with a BBQ area and full bocce court which is the perfect place to relax during your stay in Solvang . Additionally, Wine tasting at many local award winning wineries is very popular here in our Santa Ynez Valley. Finally, we have great walking, biking ,hiking and shopping destinations. Or you want, simply relax at 1 of 3 local Solvang parks. This famous house built back in 1960, spacious (3800 square feet), custom crafted Earl Petersen Architecture home boasts quality! The main house sleeps 8, features 4 bedrooms, 3 and ½ bath, full laundry room,large fully furnished kitchen with an over sized island to sit and relax at. The dark walnut plank floors and cream colored walls provide a perfect back drop for the beautiful windows and comfortable furnishings. The large Brick fireplace and gorgeous wall sconces add warmth and elegance. ,This WIFI and cable ready home has a living room also known as the “Great Room” with hand carved beams and comfortable seating where guests can enjoy a glowing fire or sit at the “Viking Valhalla” Long Table and enjoy all family meals. If you are in need of 1 more bed, the second house has a large bedroom suite with French doors going out to the patio, 1 and a 1/2 bath, small furnished kitchen and sitting area This exceptional property is delightful. Once you arrive, you may find it hard to leave!

This house was perfect for a 50th birthday lady's reunion get away. The house was very clean and well appointed. We loved sitting around the fire pit outside and enjoying the beautiful garden. The house is easy walking distance to all the stores and restaurants in Solvang and a short drive to Los Olivos and the winerys, but we enjoyed the house so much we didn't want to leave.

Beautiful property. More than roomy for the 10 members of our family. Everything we needed was available for our meals. Dansk dinnerware and calphalon cookware! Walking distance into town. Looking forward to another stay!

We traveled with 6 family members to celebrate my Dad’s 90th birthday and we couldn’t have been happier with our experience. The house was spacious, immaculate and gorgeous. The outdoor area was stunning! We were able to walk restaurants and spent our days wine tasting in Los Olivos. We’ll be back!

A group of 11 of us stayed at the Dolphin House for a bachelorette weekend of wine tasting. The property and house are beautiful and spacious. It’s right in downtown Solvang so you can walk to anything in town. It’s a quick ride to Los Olivos and the various Santa Ynez wineries.
Carol is lovely. She is very communicative and made the entire stay seamless.

My family and I stayed here for a combined vacation and extended family vacation! This property exceeded all expectations and was perfect for our group of 8 adults! Carol met us when we checked in to ensure we were comfortable with everything and was great with the reservation process! It is walking distance to town and such an oasis! The gardens were so beautiful to enjoy, surrounded by grass..Walking into town a real benefit, for the shoppers, verses anyone staying back to relax. Heating and Air, very modern. Kitchen top appliances. Enough said.

Fabulous weekend at the Dolphin House! This was our second stay and it is an amazing home and our host Carol is wonderful! We had a lot going on with wedding events at many different venues, and it was great to have this amazing house to come home to. Plenty of room for our toddler granddaughter to roam and also great quiet rooms for the two babies . Beautiful home

We are a small group of mostly retired friends who make a wine trip once a year to Paso Robles. This year we decided to enjoy the Solvang area instead. We will definitely be back! This home is absolutely amazing in every way! It is beautiful, clean, roomy, and has every amenity to make you feel at home & pampered. Carol, our hostess, was so welcoming & accommodating. The town is quaint and fun. This property is spacious and stunning — and steps away from a wide range of dining and shopping. Beautiful interior gardens and plenty of amenities made for a truly comfortable and memorable family gathering. Owners could not have been nicer.

We rented this home for our kids and grandkids on the occasion of our youngest son’s wedding. The house was perfect in every way. Big enough for five adults and five children under 10. The location was great and I’d recommend it to anyone with a large group.

This is a breathtaking residence. It’s spacious and private. If you have a reunion or a family gathering in Solvang, this is your place. The fountain in the middle of the courtyard makes it feel like a Roman villa.

Wonderful gathering place for family and friends!
Ten of us spent last week at the Dolphin House, while enjoying golfing, walking to Solvang shops, visiting Santa Barbara and Los Olivos, relaxing in the courtyard garden, with its beautiful landscaping, fountain, bocci ball, BBQ and firepit. The large kitchen was great for cooking, and the casita offered extra refrigerator space and a quiet space for older guests to rest or watch a movie. Our host was easy to communicate with, and I would definitely recommend this vacation home.
