The house has a beautiful view and is very quiet. The kitchen with utensils worked great. The location was perfect for us. A grocery store literally 2 minutes away. A great little park with PB courts and a playground for kids. The only thing that we thought could be better would be to rearrange the living room. Move the couches out to where you could sit and enjoy that wonderful view. The hosts were great and worked with us on an issue. Tom gives the host and the spot two thumbs up!!

There was one particular problem with this property that we had a problem with. You have to be very careful about the amount of water that you used. A water truck comes around once a week to fill the tank. So water is limited. This is not related to the property but unless you like to fish every day there is absolutely nothing to do in Homer.

The house was amazingly huge, bigger than I thought it would be. The 6 of us had enough room to have our private space and enough space to all hang out in together. It's close to Homer and the Spit, right by the bagel shop too!

My family (me, wife, 2-year old daughter, father-in-law, mother-in-law) loved staying here. The views were spectacular from nearly every room in the house. The kitchen was well-stocked with pots and pans, and we were able to cook for ourselves without any trouble. It was also very convenient for us to have a place with two bathrooms, which we didn't see in a lot of Homer listings. While our friends saw a moose down the hill from the property, we never did see them. We would definitely recommend it to other travelers in Homer that need multiple bedrooms for a trip with family or friends.

Beautiful Homer Getaway
My family (me, wife, 2-year old daughter, father-in-law, mother-in-law) loved staying here. The views were spectacular from nearly every room in the house. Sing Praises for Songbee

What a perfect place. On the hillside with great views. had everything you needed. No houses to look at on either side or up the hill. used the bar-be-cue for some fresh fish. slept great. would highly recommend.

We really enjoyed our stay at the SongBee. The house was able to accomodate our family of 7 plus our parents. Very family friendly home. The house was clean and there were lots of towels which was great for our gang. Most of the rooms have a great view of Kachemak Bay. The stairway is very creaky but kind of adds to the charm. House is just minutes from the Spit and many stores and restaurants. We would definitely choose to stay in this home if we ever find ourselves back in Homer!

We really enjoyed our stay at the SongBee. The house was able to accomodate our family of 7 plus our parents. Very family friendly home. The house was clean and there were lots of towels which was great for our gang. Most of the rooms have a great view of Kachemak Bay. The stairway is very creaky but kind of adds to the charm. It Feels Like Home
This trip was so amazing! The house was perfect, the second you pull in, it just feels like home. The view is gorgeous and there were even a few moose napping in the yard. There were 6 of us traveling, 4 adults and 2 children. There was more than enough room for all of us and the beds and furniture are very comfortable. There is plenty to do inside the house on a rainy day and a ton to keep you busy in Homer, just a short drive away. There were new appliances and everything was in great condition. If we are fortunate enough to make it back to Homer, we would stay here again. Thank you for opening your home to us!!

We spent each evening relaxing an enjoying the ever-changing view of the glaciers and bay. Good location for getting into town and down to the spit quickly. We really appreciated the momma moose and her twins making an appearance on the lawn one morning. It wasn't a big deal, but it would have been nice to have a table on the deck. Also, if you're here in the summer and light sensitive, there is no way to make the room in the loft dark.Serene, million dollar view and comfortable. You won't be disappointed.

Fantastic house!

Don' stay ANYWHERE else
My wife and I stayed here with a couple of family members for 8 days in June of 2015. We looked at many different options and decided on the SongBee Rest House. If you are reading this review, Book This House! You will not regret it at all. Everything was just as advertised and our experience was amazing. If you want peace and quiet, beautiful scenery and comfortable accommodations, this is the place for you.

This house was amazing in the view and room enough for our whole group. It was cozy and comfortable--everything we needed was available. Nicely decorated and very comfortable beds. Loved the deck and the grill was nice as an option! Thank you and we will be back someday....

Glacial Paradise
My Family of 4, plus my parents and brother visited here for five days! The stay was incredible. Plenty of room for all of us and a well equipped kitchen and BBQ kept us eating well the entire trip. The view is incredible and there is a trail system from the property that is very nice. The owners even provide a bear bell for you treks through the forest.
The piano was a great bonus. My daughter would practice daily and her grandparents absolutely loved it! A very fun cottage in the woods with all the amenities of home!

Perfect Home-Away-From-Home!
My husband and I stayed at the Songbee with two other couples and fell in love with the place. The location is excellent, just a few minutes from downtown Homer, off of East End Rd. And the views from the deck are spectacular. Actually, there is a gorgeous view from every bedroom in the house! The kitchen is well stocked, and the upstairs bathroom is very spacious. We had a little trouble with the washing machine while we were there, but it wasn't a problem. There is a laundry mat at the bottom of the hill, so we just washed our clothes there, then took them back to dry while we played games. We thorougly enjoyed the game cabinet! There are books and comfy chairs everywhere. I would highly recommend this home. We will be back someday, and hopefully we will be able to stay at Songbee again. Thanks for sharing your beautiful home.

Nice house with beautiful views
This house has a great location up on the hill overlooking Homer's bay and the amazing mountains on the other side. Almost every room in the house has a great view. The views are probably the most spectacular of any lodging I've ever stayed in! Distance from the town is perfect--SafeWay is about 5 minutes away but you don't feel that you are right in town.
Kitchen is very good and well equipped. The beds are comfortable and the living room furniture is quite fine. Lots of interesting books around the house.
We do have a few tiny gripes though. The washer and dryer weren't working--we were provided money to use a laundromat, which is a nice gesture, but it is better to have a washer and dryer. Not a big deal but I infer the problem has been there for a while, and it should be fixed. The water heater is small, but this is probably out of the owner's control, since the water seems to come from a tank and is probably limited in quantity. It's a remote place so you can't expect perfection. The location is a bit tricky to find at first and google maps doesn't really work that well--would be nice if owners would draw a decent hand-drawn map of the roads on the hill and scan it and make that available.
Despite these minor issues we are giving this 5 stars and would definitely recommend the property. Also, Homer is also a terrific town to visit, with startlingly good restaurants.

Homer Fishing Adventure
The house was as advertised, clean with all the amenities. Beautiful view from the deck of Kachemack Bay, mountains and glaciers on the Peninsula. We had cocktails on the deck while viewing the scenery and grilling our catch(salmon and halibut) on the pit provided on the deck. Short drive to town and the Spit to fish. Captain Patties will cook your catch if so desired on the spit! Plenty of shopping in town and on the Spit.
Plan on booking next year!!

perfect view
We had a great time with everything in the home. The beds were very comfortable with great views from every room. The bald eagle from the front window everyday and the moose and her little one was a great added feature. It was nice to sit outside on the balcony enjoying wine from the nearby winery. We would gladly come back to this rental any time.
