We'll be back!

The location is excellent, 50-ish yards from the seafront. As the name suggests, it's a period property with lots of character, furnished with antiques and objets d'art. Keith is an excellent host, ably supported by Sharon - they're both great! The breakfasts were excellent: generous and very nicely-cooked both days of our visit.

Home from home

So homely and welcoming and very comfortable. Sharon was so accommodating. Always had a smile on her face, but respected privacy. The perfect host. The breakfast was absolutely delicious and only best ingredients were used. could not have enjoyed my stay more and will be returning. Thank you.

Wonderful house full of character and charm. The staff could not do enough for us, including getting in gluten free bread for my partner for her breakfast. Highly recommended staying here to anyone stopping in Watchet.

Very comfortable stay in the heart of Watchet.

We had the suite which was comfortable and warm with a huge bathroom. The host Keith was friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Full English breakfast, yoghurt and cereals. Veggie sausages sourced for me. 😊 The house was full of interesting things for your eyes to feast on.

Ideal central location in Watchet town centre. A beautiful period house with excellent facilities. Excellent breakfast cooked to our requirements by the host Keith who was helpful, friendly and interesting to talk to.

Unwelcoming.

Our room was clean, basic but functional

The meet and greet by ???? was some of a Falwty Towers script. We appeared to have woken ???? up. He was dazed, confused perhaps a little drunk. He denied he had any guests to house that night. Then he found a record of our booking. He then could not find the key to the room. He then disappeared for a while. His shirt now untucked from his trousers. He was abrupt and unwelcoming. The room was cluttered - but very clean. Someone must work hard to keep it so. If we had of been confident of finding anywhere else to stay we would have moved on immediately. Our stay appeared to be a distraction. We missed breakfast rather than engaged with ???? again.

touring holiday

The ambience is reminiscent of a bygone era. The rooms reflect the luxury of the 1920's and 1930's but with all modcons. The house is part gallery and part museum with every wall covered with artwork and every surface full of artifacts . It is totally spectacular. The host was exceptionally helpful and recommended a wonderful place to eat. anyone visiting Watchet must stay at least one night at the Georgian House it is an experience you will never forget!!!!

Gorgeous house full of lovely items. It felt like arriving at a friend's country retreat for the night. Huge room. Comfy bed. Fab breakfast. Very attentive host

Beautiful house with helpful host

A beautiful b&b with a delicious full English breakfast. It’s like a museum! A fantastic stay with a lovely host who was very helpful. The room was lovely with giant bay windows and window seats. Watchet is a great village too. The sunsets are stunning.

Very disappointed for a 4? star property

Overall the property looks worn out No shower gel or shampoo supplied The water was not hot enough The toilet had a very noisy macerator The bed had a valance that had thick grey plastic tape on it There was a small pack of biscuits on the tea tray that looked mouldy Bathroom light cord dirty Ceiling rose not attached to ceiling exposing wires On arriving we were told that there would be no breakfast as the housekeeper was sick

Lovely historic home, full of art and character

A beautiful historic house, full of antiques and character - and that was just the owner! Excellent breakfast, served a tad earlier than we would have wished, but no problem. Art lovers with a taste for the undraped female form will find plenty to satisfy their interests in the many paintings, sculptures and drawings amassed by the owner and displayed in every room. It is right on a road, and with the limitations of heritage regulations the windows didn't quite keep out a little early morning traffic noise - but it wasn't a problem.

Plenty of space in the room, nice comfortable bed chairs etc, good shower and quiet area.

It felt very basic for the money we paid.

The breakfast was very nice on the first day, however the second days breakfast wasn't as nice.

The whole accommodation which we were given could have been improved it was more appropriate for a single room rather than a double. The toilets are very noisy and we had two next to our room.

Great place to stay

Great location with bars and restaurants easily accessible with short walks. The full English breakfast was very good. The owner Keith is a good host. Lovely place with great Quirky antique interior.

Great customer service

The building was beautiful and was decorated with a classic feel. The host was let down by a member of staff calling out and managed to cook breakfasts for all guests by themselves. They even ironed my shirt for me which showed their commitment to making their guests stay the best it can be.

We didn't like that the shower had very low pressure and the seal wasn't good between the bath and shower screen. This led to water leaking onto the floor. The bedsheets were clean but there were old stains on them. The carpets looked like they could do with a clean.

Superb Somerset hospitality

Every single thing , from the room, superior suite, to the staff, really polite and friendly, the location, the breakfast, and last but certainly not least the amazing host Keith. What a character, lovely lovely man and a superb host, thank you for everything Keith . Trust me , we WILL be back , sooner rather than later .

We found Watchet really interesting and The Georgian House was great - eclectic furniture and bits and pieces but they work really well. Some nice individual touches.
