Excellent hosts. We really enjoyed staying with the family. Amazing home cooked food and a real home from home. The waterfall tour arranged through the hostel was incredible!

Fantastisk sted. Meget flot udsigt til de 7 vandfald og bjergene. Rent og pænt. Men det bedste var den venlige familie. Hver aften fik vi et lækkert mauritisk måltid - med lokal øl og forskellige smage af rom. Her mødte vi de andre gæster og værterne fortalte os en del om Mauritius' religion og kultur. De kunne også hjælpe med at arrangere vandreture til vandfaldet. Vi havde en fantastisk god guide med os - Axelle. Vi kan varmt anbefale dette sted.

Green Discovery est le lieu idéal si vous souhaitez des vacances au calme et dans la nature superbe de l'Ile Maurice. La terrasse avec vue sur les 7 cascades et l'océan est juste magique ! N'hésitez surtout pas à prendre vos petits déjeuners et repas du soir chez Prakash et son adorable femme Anuja. Vous partagerez un moment unique dans leur famille et vous dégusterez des plats délicieux, Anuja est une cuisinière hors pair ! Nous nous sommes sentis comme chez des amis. Prakash est d'une grande disponibilité, il saura répondre à vos attentes et il est de très bon conseil pour visiter la région qui est magnifique. De plus, il est guide officiel pour notamment les 7 cascades et le Morne. Il est prévenant et attentionné et se met au niveau de chacun sans jamais vous presser. Il connait très bien la faune et la flore de tous ces endroits magnifiques. Je le recommande vivement ainsi que son logement.

Lovely family guesthouse a stones throw from Tamarind waterfall hike. Prakash guided us on our second day. His wife Anouja is an amazing cook.

We were in upstairs apartment. Super views but up an outside flight of stairs. Fine for us but wouldn’t suit anyone with mobility issues.

Helpful and welcoming owner/family. Comfortable bed, good dining area and especially the balcony in the morning/evening. Fridge and kitchen.

Inconsistent hot water for shower. Cosmetic changes suggested to owner that would make the room more appealing. Dogs barking at night which appears to be common in Mauritius. Area was surrounded by small towns, off the tourist track that made it dangerous to drive at times and especially after dark. Possible but with caution.

Prakash and his family were very welcoming during our stay. Their home is located in the heart of Mauritius, which makes it a good starting place for different trips and activities. It also has a very nice terrace with a beautiful view of the Tamarind waterfalls. The kitchen and living room are shared with another room, but it didn't bother us, this way we got to meet other travellers as well. We liked the fact that there was a washing machine that we could use. You can also have authentic mauritian food for dinner upon request. Besides having dinner, every night we ended up chatting with the hosts for a couple of hours learning a lot about their country and culture. If you are a hiking enthusiast, I recommend booking tours with Prakash, for us they were among the highlights of our holiday.

The water pressure could be better.

Overwhelmingly view from the balcony to watch the sunset and see tamarind falls, i can highly recommend this place. Prakash and his family are absolutely friendly, provided me a dinner even when they were not at home. This is a very cheap accommodation which provides a washing machine (huge plus), kitchen and nice living room to spend some time with other travellers or the family themself. I booked a hiking tour to all 7 Tamarind Falls and Prakash took us to see beautiful places, swim at the waterfall and even provided some fresh food, he explainend a lot about the environment, plants, people and the area itself, i can highly recommend to do this tour (if you can climb a bit and are not afraid of physical activity, "laughs") You get a lot for this little price and i like to thank you so much for taking me on the most beautiful trip on whole Mauritius holiday

I arrived late and they cooked dinner for me and refused to charge me for it. Had a great chat with the owner.

Place a bit hard to find

Breakfast was included in the price of my room, I asked the staff the day before to prepare breakfast for me at 6 am because I had to go further. in the end, I waited until 7 o'clock in the morning and breakfast was never provided to me. it's very sad

We booked last minute, but this was no problem for the owners who swiftly cleaned our room and pointed us to the nearest hiking trail. The view from the balcony is even better than in the photos. A nice breakfast in the family home is included.

The view was absolutely perfect! I would also highly recommend the hike with the host, we went to the Waterfalls. The price was reasonable and we saw much more than if we would go alone.

The host was so friendly and organised all hikes and sightseeing well. In addition we had twice dinner with the family, good food and nie conversations about the country and its people.

The room we had had an ensuite bathroom which was not really separated well from the other bathroom (open at the top).

Prakash and his family were helpful, considerate and great to have conversations with. Don't hesitate to book a hike or a meal with them! The location made it so that sleeping was a great experience in itself: must try if you have trouble getting some good shut-eye.

The place is remote so not many things going on around. But that's also one of its strength as you can get your peace and quiet yet still meet fellow travelers and the lovely owners.

The owners' hospitality is exceptional. They take care of their guest, providing tips for the sightseeing and helping in whatever they can. Amazing place for a few nights when you want to explore this part of the island. The location is amazing with the Tamarind Falls view from your window. The owners are the nicest people we've met on the island, and the dinner they prepared was actually the best meal we had during our stay in Mauritius.

The bathroom does not provide much privacy. You really need a car in this neighbourhood.

Everything was amazing, stunning view from balcony

Very nice breakfast and dinner made by the housekeepers and served in gentle and nice surroundings. The access and view to wild nature was excellent. The arrangement for guided tour to the 7 waterfalls, close to the house, was a great view and with still new amazing surprises with breathtaking experiences. The tour to the temple exposed a culture very different from where I come from. People was gentle, friendly and nice and the housekeepers was excellent.

I would have like better access to shops for buying food and drinks so that I could use the kitchen. Garbage dumped in nature is a general and very visible problem.

The area is great, with an amazing view from the terraces. The shared space is big and has anything we needed, and the room and bathroom were clean and relaxing. Great stay especially for people that like hiking. Going to the cascades is a must. The hosts are also very nice and helpful, and they offer good breakfast.

Calm, spacious, near the forest

we loved our stay at green discovery :) the family was very friendly, and helpful. we got everything we need and had a wonderful stay there and can totally recommend it. there are beautiful hikes close by - it was a great local experience 😊

Great view from the balcony, very clean. The host kindly dropped us at the national park for extra hiking. Overall it's a great spot, very peaceful, good value for money. The host offers a great tour of the waterfalls.

Our 'private' bathroom was across the shared communal area which we hadn't expected. Breakfast was at a fixed time only and was fairly limited. We did have dinner at the accommodation once but the host wasn't able to join us to due ill health and we didn't think the meal was great value. A word of warning there isn't much available locally so bring supplies with you - the local shop has 'tourist' prices!
