We had a few issues with this home. Upon arrival there were fresh bear prints on the INSIDE wall of bedroom under window. When stepped outside you can see them there too so a bear had been inside recently and they did not clean up. Secondly, this is not an actual 2 bathroom. The second bathroom you have to go out the back porch, open a trap door type thing (I think to keep bears off top level) then go down steep stairs and then back inside to access the second bathroom. The one bathroom inside main house has a 3 ft drop to step into. Not accesible for small children or anyone with disabilities. We reached out to the host regarding bear prints and never did get a reply from either number. We booked this last minute and def should have read all the other reviews first. The water coming out of faucets was also yellow( not sure if that’s just mountain water or not). When we booked more pictures were listed (they are now listed on another site if you look up cubs cabin) and those picture are not accurate. We reached out to vrbo after the host did not reply to let them know the issues as well.

The location of this property could not be better. The neighborhood and the proximity made to stay very worthwhile. That said, the air conditioning was not working, the washer and dryers were not working, and the air hockey in the rec room was not working. Not all the windows had screens in the sliding door to the deck also had a broken screen. With temperatures up to 97°F in the day, we needed to keep as many windows and doors open at night to have a reasonable temperature and lack of screens impeded that. But I definitely would stay there again because I could not imagine a better location. I believe that the problems mentioned can be easily fixed. The communication was outstanding but obviously misleading since we really were looking forward to the air conditioning and the functioning washer and dryer.

Broken hand rail, food left in fridge, mold in bathroom, dirty dishes in cabinets, all clock batteries dead, back deck and furniture covered in debris. All the Beds horrible. Baseboards missing and on and on. Very disappointed.

We enjoyed our 2 night stay at this inviting home. Without staying at the village, this is one of the closest places you can stay to the heart of Yosemite. We loved having the full and well appointed kitchen (we bought groceries at the Mar-Val market in Groveland on the way in) and the nice dining table by the windows for meals. The community is very quiet and peaceful. The beds are very comfortable and my 2 adult kids loved having their own large beds. I didn't realize that the house did not have central AC and we did have a little challenge cooling it down on arrival, as the temp was quite warm in the 90s. However, the house supplied large portable cooling fans, which we used to cool it down. (We needed to bring one upstairs to cool the loft bedroom, which was the most challenging.) The evenings/nights are nice and cool, so opening the house overnight also helped. As mentioned by the management company in the information packet, internet service is slow, but usable for email and light surfing. The house is well supplied with movies and games and satellite tv, although we didn't watch it. As mentioned in previous reviews, if you have mobility challenges, this is probably not the best place for you due to stairs and big step down into the tub/shower. However, we had no issues at all and actually found the downstairs area easier to access than some reviews had suggested. Thanks for a great stay!

We had a very pleasant stay at the Cub's Cabin. It has not been fixed up in a while, but we found the decor and feel of the cabin well suited for a Yosemite vacation. Pluses - Location is amazing, wonderful deck for meals, well stocked kitchen and comfortable beds. We just had to bring our food and personal items. There was even a plethora of seasonings and such in the kitchen. Our only suggestions - the unit can use a few repairs (ex. patio sliding door is difficult to use and air hockey table not working). And that as others have stated, the outside walk to the downstairs bathroom is a bit inconvenient. But overall we really enjoyed our time at the cabin and made some wonderful family memories!

Beautiful, well-furnished home in spectacular location
This property, on a verdant hillside inside Yosemite, takes your breathe away even as you approach it. And then, the inside somehow finds a way to add to this. Well provided in terms of furnishings, kitchen provisions and bathroom stuff, this also has games and books to keep children occupied in the evening, and a gym and game room to keep everyone happy.

Overall home was wonderful. All the household amenities that you could possibly need. Bed in loft was very comfortable. Other mattresses in first floor bedrooms need to be replaced. Dust was pretty apparent in bedrooms and on floor fans and heater blades.
Whirlpool tub doesn’t work, may want to add that to listing

We feel it was misrepresented in the advertisement on VRBO. There are two bathrooms, however, one was only accessible by going outside and back inside after going down dark, steep stairs. The four of us used the one indoor bathroom. Several interior lights were missing bulbs or not working. There was not adequate seating in the living area. We found a load of clean towels in the dryer, unfolded. The property is very dated and not well cared for. There were no pans for baking in the oven. There are many stairs so accessing the cabin can be treacherous with baggage. The location was great, the beds were decent and the view was pretty.

Nice great room with great kitchen. Many steps down to unit. Three nice bedrooms with main floor bath. Fourth bedroom is more of a small couch. Unusual shower is two foot step down from floor.
Second bathroom: go out on balcony, down steep stairs, re-enter building - not feasible for using at night. Perfectly named cub's cabin with bear warnings to keep windows and doors closed when not present. Bear came on balcony to check to see if we were following the rules.

Property has 3 industrial type fans and at least an additional 4 large fans. Kids slept fine and didn't mind. But it was very noisy for me. Not an option to turn them off in July because it would have been too hot.

Cubs cabin might be wonderful for some but for the three of us all in our mid 80's all those stairs were unsafe. Also only having one bathroom for all those bedrooms was very skimpy. We did not ever go down stairs or up stairs. The kitchen was very useable and all the equipment was top notch. We did not cook much, mainly used the micro wave . As we are experienced in this we knew to keep things simple. The weather was perfect, the sunsets gorgeous.

We loved our stay at Yosemite. Location is the key at Cub’s Cabin. It is a bit rundown but worked great for our families of four and three. Plenty of places to sleep and all you need to be comfortable. It needs a good deep cleaning but there if you have the expectations that this is the case, you will be fine. Glacier Point is relatively close and Yosemite Valley is not far. Elevation is higher so it is cooler than staying in the valley during the summer. We would stay here again but hope outside lighting and cleaning inside and out occurs between now and next time. This would only enhance the overall experience.

I try not to write negative reviews because there could be so many reasons why something didn’t turn out the way a customer expects. However, this listing was unprofessional.First, they did not disclose that parts of the house were closed due to disrepair until I asked to book (I was ok with it and they provided a discount), then they assured the internet was functional prior to us booking (we took their word for it). When we arrived, the internet did not work. We called the number listed (which ended up being the management company), and instead of addressing the issue, they forwarded us directly to the owner. After repeated calls to both the internet provider and the owner, we found out that the owner did not pay the internet bill and they had suspended the account. After further assurances the owner would follow up on the ‘mix up’, the internet company shared with us that the owner called the DAY before we arrived to cancel the account. We provided all our contact information to both the management company and owner to fix and explain the situation to us. Instead, there was no answer. We left the property early because we couldn’t use our phones or the internet at the property. All it would have taken was to be transparent on the listing and disclose the information. Instead, they took our payment and gave us no explanation. I recommend vbro take this listing off their site.

Not a good deal
We have stayed in Yosemite West with my family every year for the last 4 years and this was the most expensive and most disappointing place we have stayed in. Location is great. View from the house is good. The house is really old. It is advertised as 2 bathroom but its really a 1 bathroom and the other bathroom requires you to go outside, down steep narrow stairs into a windowless basement to use, which is not convenient. We arrived and the house was not clean. My child found a used, dirty COVID mask that she handed to me (Yuck!) and there was a used sanitary napkin left in the bathroom garbage (more yuck!). I spent the first hour of my arrival cleaning the place. I think they charge way too much for this place but could be due to COVID all prices are jacked up.

Ok property but there's a few things you should know...
The property is inside the park so there's no need for a permit, but you will need to pay $35 one time entrance fee. The mngt company did not put us on the list and didn't preemptively send us the proper documentation. They texted it to me upon my request.
PROS:
The Yosemite West location was great. Safe, quiet and about a 30 min drive the Tunnel. The kitchen had all the supplies we needed and everything worked fine. The beds were a none issue so that was good.
CONS:
The property is an older property that is better in the cooler months than the hotter months; no A/C, upper loft area is super hot, little pond was dried up, the 1 shower in the main living quarters is a 24" step down tub/shower so not good if you're older. The other shower is outside, down the steps, through a downstairs door. It's works fine but is not convenient. The deck felt a little suspect to me so I kept our kids away from the rail. I have no proof it was suspect, but I didn't want to find out.
The property felt small because some of the square footage is the downstairs fitness area and the loft was unusable due to the heat. The windows are beautiful but they face West so the sun really hits that side for most of the day. Again, not an issue during cooler months but tough when it's 90 degrees outside.
I 100% get that it's a national park but the internet in the property was incredibly frustrating. We couldn't get Netflix, Prime or even the Hopper to work. It worked well enough for emails, but I struggled with any type of Google Meet / Zoom. This wasn't much of an issue for us because we were out hiking most of the day, but we couldn't watch a movie with the kids. We also tried to use the DVDs they had available but couldn't get them working.
All-in-all, the property was "OK" for our purposes but not worth the amount we paid per night. I wouldn't stay there again during hot times, but I would consider staying again during cooler months. I'd also bring my own DVD player since the internet and phone service are so limited so having your own Firestick / Chromecast didn't help.

Cute but....
very cute place but the walk to the game room has so much leaves mosiquetos. bedding is very limited. small bed (queen beds only.) and only 2 beds kids have to sleep on the couch, no air condition summer time is not a place to be. winter maybe have fireplace. called and text property managerment never response. the boys loved because of the air hockey and play hide and seek lot of place to hide. overall ok.

Yosemite retreat
Stayed with my senior dad. So much for senior. He outhiked me most days, with some days over 12 miles...all uphill. Cubs Cabin was a great place to unwind after all that hiking. Probably more than we needed for 2, but super comfortable and quiet.

Very cute house but also old property
The house is cozy and cute with a lot of bear decorations. The location is very convenient. The kitchen and the grill are well-equipped, and the fire place is very nice and warm.
However, the sofa and sofa bed upstairs was not very clean and cause one of my family member to have rash all over the body. There is only one bathroom at the first floor; the second bathroom is in the basement where the gym is (you will have to go outside and go downstairs to use it). The house seems to be very old and not remodeled, so some of the wood floors were not flat. The bath tub was also leaking.

Yosemite cabin
Everything is just like the pictures
Very clean a bit dated but goes with the style of the cabin. Beautiful views.
Best star gazing ever!
