The cabin was very old and much maintenance needed. The 45 steps to get to the cabin was frustrating and not comfortable for elderly, children and or sick people at all. The cold breeze was easily getting into the property through the windows due to unsealed edges. The view from the living room on both levels were nice and easy to view the lake. The 3rd room was actually a loft with a pool table with difficulty to play due to limited space.

You said several stairs it almost fifty the stairs were so run down when you step down the boards they bend and we got splinters-on our hands. The decks boards we so rotten that when we walked out on they bent the screen door had holes in it and couldn’t get it to slide. The place was generally run down. Also had trouble with the electricity. Overall the place doesn’t match the pictures online.

The house is... fine. The stairs into the house didn't bother us (young couple with two small children) and the view was really nice. However, the house has two sets of stairs once instead and one set is a metal spiral staircase that has tennis balls on it to protect you from hitting your head. The basement, which is advertised as the "master bedroom" is far from the advertised "romantic retreat" and smells like animal pee. Although it's advertised as 3 bedrooms, it's really only one bedroom with a basement and loft - requiring small children to either be closest to the front door or in the basement alone. The third bed was a mattress on the floor in the corner of the basement. The upstairs bathroom sink is a pedestal and wasn't attached - my husband leaned in to shave and nearly knocked the entire thing over and we couldn't turn the water on more than a trickle or it came out like a fire hose. Lastly, we got into town 2.5 hours ahead of schedule and stopped by. We saw that the house was unoccupied and tidied so we asked if we could go ahead and go in, but in spite of those things they wanted to charge us an extra $45. I get that they can't accommodate every early check-in situation, but we were literally parked outside and it was abundantly clear that between the 2.5 hours nothing was going to inconvenience anyone - except for the parents of two small children who had to drive around aimlessly killing time. I don’t typically air grievances in reviews, but it was even too much for me to ignore. We loved the area, but the cabin was the worst part of the trip.
