Hostel Amador has a great location, including very beautiful surroundings. The seating area with the kitchen is absolutely great, and the coffee is always ready! Wifi great, available. We thought we would stay overnight, and go, but we came back even at the end of our stay in Panama. I will definitely come again.
I guess nothing.

The property itself was very clean, large open spaces and areas to lounge in. wifi connection was brilliant in the whole building. Great AC, TV with Netflix already signed in. We had to get a Antigen test completed and the Hostel staff (who provided the airport run) helped us at very short notice which was amazing, and they helped us print our flight tickets on leaving the hostel. basic things done very well.
The kitchen was closed in-between 8 and 10pm, meaning that its difficult to cook a late dinner and if you woke up and wanted a late night snack it’s not possible. Despite this, items of food were also stolen out of the fridge. Our welcoming to the hostel wasn’t great either. We had a query with the price as it was appearing differently on booking.com which was a fault of the application layout, not the hostel. On asking initially, the receptionist rolled her eyes. We then wanted to pay by card and when explaining this im broken Spanish, the receptionist huffed quite a lot and when we tried to pay contactlessly forcefully told us that “you’re not in England anymore, you’re in Latin America”, rather than asking for the physical card which is what she needed due to the type of payment machine. I’ve been travelling for 3 months through Central America already and had paid contactlessly in a number of them, but not all. On walking us to the bedroom, she came across as though the whole experience was inconvenient to her. A very disappointing start… that was redeemed by some of the other team but should be looked at given the welcome is a very important part of the stay.

Very nice and helpful staff, own garden and spacious room. 24h reception.
A bit far from everything but quiet a d Über takes you quickly where you want.

Very nice hosts, big kitchen, drinking water available. Shower was clean, warm. Bed was comfortable, sheets were clean. Excellent for a couple nights, close to both airports and busstation.
Not many comfortable chairs and couches, not many people there so not social. If the dorm was full it would be crowded but don’t think that happens easily. The facilities are dated but worked well enough.

Super nice staff, picked me up from the airport and booked a tour to San Blas for me. Great safe location. Really easy to Uber to the old town and buses close by.

It's super close to the airport which is the main reason for booking it. Also we love that it was family run and operated. They helped us with all of our questions and concerns! We got in late and they directed us to a nearby store to get food and Sim cards to save money. The air-conditioning was great in the room and much needed after a few hit nights.
Everything was fine.

Lo mejor los empelados. Son el mayor activo del hostal.
The very best, the emplyees. They are the major asset of the hostel.
Eche de menos algo para desayunar ademas del cafe.
I missed something for breakfast other than coffe.

We enjoyed our stay in this hostal. The family who runs it is really nice. Rooms and kitchen are clean and comfortable. The location is great. We really liked it. It's not far to a big bus station at a mall where there is busses and the the tram to everywhere in town. We also walked to the old town twice. Safe neighborhood. Also at night.
The main road next to the hostal is really loud. It's ok during the night but traffic runs late into it and starts again early. So bring earplugs.

Hostal Amador was an absolutely wonderful experience when it comes to the staff, location, and facilities. The couple who run the hostel are so hospitable, kind, engaging, and extremely welcoming to travelers from around the world. They even helped me get a Covid test at the last minute when I realized I needed one in order to transit through the USA.
The room was clean and the bed was quite comfortable! The kitchen facilities are well-stocked and the morning coffee was not only complimentary, but delicious too! I also felt very safe walking to the local mini supermarket, and would have liked to explore the leafy residential area more than I had time for.
The WiFi was quite good and fast enough too, and I believe there was a printing service available.
Additionally, they arranged to pick me up at the airport and for a very (VERY affordable cab ride to the international airport for my departure.
Overall, I had a lovely stay, would happily stay again, and highly recommend Hostal Amador.
The only things that I would note could have been better are that my room seemed to be right underneath a neon sign outside which make very high-pitched squeaking noises that kept me awake and gave me a bit of a headache. This could probably be fixed with some sealing around the windows or thicker curtains, perhaps.
Also, it should be noted for anyone planning to explore Panama City on foot that this hostel is not located within walking distance to the center, due to some neighborhoods and city infrastructure between the hostel and, for example, Casco Viejo. However, cabs and Uber are cheap enough so it was pretty easy to get to and from the hostel, but it did add a few dollars a day onto the stay. Just FYI.

This accomodation offers you everything you need after long flight. Safety, nice owner who is trying to help you with everything, kitchen, AC, private bathroom and nice garden where you can rest for very good price. It is located in safe area and not far from the main bus terminal. I will be back before my flight home (:

Nice outside area and close location to albrook
It's not a 6 bed dorm, it's a 12 bed dorm room. It was fine as it was just me and 1 other girl, but if the room would be full it's way too small...

We absolutely loved staying at Hostal Amador Familiar!
The room was comfy and spacious, with a nice view on the garden surrounding the property. The area is very peaceful, it was wonderful waking up with the song of the birds and the rustle of leaves. In the kitchen you can always find hot coffee for free, great to wake you up in the morning! Even better is being greeted by the super friendly staff and Kai, the sweetest pup you'll ever meet and the real head of the family at Hostal Amador! Positive quotes are written all around inside the hostal, leaving you with a warm feeling. Staying here felt like finding a new home and we really hope we can visit again one day!

We choose this place for the parking for our rental car. It was good. We didn't stay long enough to experience the life at the hostel but it seemed nice and the staff definitely was. The room was large and clean but kinda of old (expected though). It was a good choice.
The location isn't amazing in the sense that it is far from the lively areas but it was safe as needed. Our room was by the stairs and because of that ir was noisy, but, well, that's how life goes at a hostel.

We didn’t realise breakfast was included but we had plenty of coffee
The curtains. They don’t offer privacy and don’t fit window properly. A small adjustment.

Plus:
- Safe neighborhood (though strolling around during nighttime is not a good idea anywhere in Panama City, unless you are in Casco Viejo or in some exceptional area)
- Sightseeings are close by taxi or by public transportation
- Working air conditioning
- Spotless bedsheets and comfortable double bed
Cons:
- The room looked completely different compared to what was shown on the Booking website (only the bathroom photo was published)
- The room was really damp (air conditioning helped though)
- Furnitures are old-ish
- Small and mushy pillow
- The door of the shower cabin just fell off as soon as I touched it. I was lucky that the glass did not shatter to pieces.

The bed was better than most places and the furniture in the hostal was more comfortable than a lot of hostals. There’s a good restaurant a short walk away and 3 small stores for basic food. The kitchen looked good. On the 850 bus route from Albrook station so easy to to get to if you have a Metro pass. The 850 leaves from the small circle besides the Subway entrance.
The area has a lot of traffic noise.

Felipe, the Hostal manager, went above and beyond in every way in order to ensure that I had a great time in Panama. The Amador hostal is cozy, clean, and the rooms are spacious. Furthermore, the A/C, hot shower, and strong internet connection made for a perfect experience. I will stay here again in the future!
