About this house rental
Our luxurious yet rustic lake house oasis sleeps 8 people & is the ultimate, private 9 acre lakefront property for Glamping, a Girls Weekend, a Weekend Retreat, a Family Gathering or to just get away from it all. It is a strict, no-pet, hypoallergenic home. All brand new furniture & furnishings. Well-appointed yet still has a warm and homey feel with knotty pine walls throughout, stone walls and HUGE stone fireplace in the great room. Sit in the sunroom & read... or bird watch. Take a walk in the forest or go bass fishing on the large dock down at the lake. Gourmet Kitchen is a jaw dropper with all the cooking amenities for all the foodies in your group. We have a baking cupboard with tins and pans and a Mixmaster. It's perfect for cooking a large meal as there are 2 Viking convection ovens, a Viking warming drawer and then a full conventional oven within the stove. Family sized fire pit for s'mores, a huge dock outfitted with lights and benches, 2 kayaks are available and assorted life vests. There is a tackle shed by the dock with poles and lures for you to have a lazy day fishing. Inside the home there is a card table, gaming area with PS3, strong WIFI signal, flat screen TV with cable, vintage Pac-Man machine, large laundry room with washer and dryer, huge dining room and MASSIVE great room with triple sized wood burning fireplace. All new furnishings throughout. Its pretty INCREDIBLE for everyone....We do have a generator in case Mother Nature decides to create a wonderful rain and lightening show. Our pool area is open from the Tuesday after Memorial Day to the Tuesday after Labor Day. The pool is an ECO-FRIENDLY, UNHEATED, black lagoon style pool that uses Mother Nature's sunlight to heat it up. We do not use harsh chemicals to maintain it. It is akin to a simulation of swimming in a lake, without the creatures that live in the lake. We would like to make a special notation that we do welcome adults and teens alike BUT we would like to advise potential guests with detailed information so you can make the right choice for your vacation. #1: Guests must walk down a paved path on an inclined hill to the beautiful dock area that is outfitted with benches, fishing poles & kayaks for admiring the lake and reversely, you must walk back up to the house. For people who are not comfortable walking or do not have the cardio health for incline walking back up to the house, you may become winded.#2. This show stopping home and expansive grounds contains a total of 8 sets of stairs , a jetted tub, a swimming pool, a lake, a second story deck with views, fireplaces, granite countertops and a bridge. If you searching for a vacation rental and have small children, this is not a suitable home for your young family. WE STRONGLY ADVISE AGAINST CHILDREN UNDER 13 OR ANY ADULT WITH JOINT PAIN, DIFFICULTY WALKING, WALKERS OR ARE IN WHEELCHAIRS AS WE ARE NOT WHEELCHAIR OR WALKER EQUIPPED. We reserve the right to ask questions about whom will be staying on our property and all their ages and will decline the reservation based the property's suitability for the inquiring guest party. There is also a signature-request, short term lease agreement that must be signed, legally stating that all parents are responsible for their teen's accidents or any accidents of any individual in their party that are not physically capable enough to truly enjoy the great outdoors and a lakeside experience. We wish to inform any family coming in glorious October, the powers that be at the dam, do lower the water level on Lake Saluda sometime in October. We have no control over the water level going down for yearly maintenance and cleaning however it never lasts more than 48 hours. We have yet to have a guest who wanted to get into the cold lake and kayak but we wanted to mention this point.) NO SPECIAL EVENTS. NO HOUSE PARTIES. NO SHOOTING OR HUNTING. NO MORE THAN 8 PEOPLE, INCLUDING TEENS, CAN BE ON THE PROPERTY AT ANYTIME, UNLESS PERMITTED PREVIOUSLY BY OWNER. ANY ILLEGAL ACTIVITY OF ANY KIND OR BREAKING OF HOUSE RULES WILL INVOLVE 100% FORFITURE OF THE $500 SECURITY DEPOSIT AND POSSIBLY POLICE AND ARRESTS

Such a great property for a family get together, especially at Thanksgiving. Beautiful surroundings filled with fall colors and lake views.
The owner was very easy to work with & left us so many special treats - - even the dining table was set and decorated for our Thanksgiving meal with glowing candles and a lovely centerpiece.
This property was in a good spot for traveling both to Greenville for shopping & restaurants & also up to Asheville for sightseeing

Located just miles from Greenville you feel like you are in the middle of nowhere once you enter the private driveway. The expansive lake front property with a pool offers something for everyone! The house is absolutely charming with modern upgrades and so many cool spaces. The host is over the top thoughtful.This is truly a hidden gem. We have been to this house twice and we can’t wait to return!

I have rented houses/condos all over the country for the last 15 years and this was the coolest house we’ve stayed in. It’s got a retro vibe but completely modern. Plenty of space and amenities for our family including four mostly adult children. Lora spoils her guests with treats and many conveniences. We loved the house and our time in Greenville!

Our boys had a tournament in and around the Greenville area. The property was perfect for relaxing between games. The kids had a blast fishing and swimming. Communication from the hostess was easy and quick. Directions were very specific which made for very few questions, but the few that I had were answered within minutes.

Driving through the gate of the property, we knew we had stumbled onto something awesome. There is so much more to this property than what they tell you. Lush greenery, gorgeous flowering bushes, peace and quiet. No neighbors to worry about, very private. As we toured the property, house and pool area, we were in awe of the unique design and immediately fell in love with the vintage vibe. The hostess left many treats for us and was immediately responsive to any question or need. Our family need downtime. Quiet. Rest. Fun! We laid by and floated in the pool for hours at a time. Evenings by the fire, drinks by the pool, books in the sunroom! Nothing better than a black lagoon pool. I could go on and on, this is the best place we have ever rented! Thank you for sharing your treasure!

This rental property is so much more than the pictures! You feel welcomed by the host, she has little touches of welcome through out the property. A few examples are candy dishes, for my chocolate loving family this was perfect after a ten hour drive. There was a cake and wine in the kitchen. The sunroom was a perfect place to enjoy the morning, reading or having a cup of coffee or tea! Any kitchen appliances you may need she has available for use. Our family loves a great pot of tea and a tea pot and array of tea was available. The bathrooms are incredible with showers and large tub to soak in after a long day of walking or shopping in Greenville Every room was thoughtfully designed and had a throw on the couch to curl up and read a book or watch television. The bedrooms were very nice and beds were comfortable. The outdoors was beautiful, we enjoyed the sun and lawn furniture. The pool was not opened but looked inviting . It was an amazing property and a blessing to rent it for our family. One last memory, the last night we were there , there was a thunderstorm, and I was able to sit in the sunroom with the skylights and see the lightning and hear the rain and it was the definition of serenity. Our family would definitely love to come back and stay in the future!

What can I say about this amazing property and host?! Lora thinks of everything, honestly!
The place gave the four of us ample room to spread out, but also, so many places inside and outside the property to hang together. Our favorite was the cozy sunroom. We gathered there in the mornings to sip coffee, and plan out our day, and in the evenings, we relaxed there and just enjoyed conversation. Honestly, when we first got there, we walked around, picking rooms and flipped when we saw the chocolates in the big jar in the living room, lol. At some point I realized that we hadn’t even gotten to the kitchen. When I went looking for it - yes the house is that big, but was very surprised. I am used to a bottle of wine and chocolates at most VRBO’s. But I will leave it at, Lora outdid herself, so as not to ruin anyone’s surprise.
We would stay here again in a heartbeat, and hope to! It’s an easy drive to Greenville, and Asheville is not much more than an hour or so away. Do yourself a favor and stay here!

It was so nice to have a peaceful family get together in this beautiful and spacious lake front house. The owner went above and beyond with Christmas decorating and thoughtful touches (chocolate!!) throughout. 10/10 this is the best vrbo experience I have ever had

This. Property. Is. Amazing. The pictures do NOT do it justice. The host is amazing, so kind and generous and had so many fun surprises for us. My family gasped and oohed at every turn. I have stayed in many VRBO properties, and this one was without question the best experience we have ever had. I was truly floored by the thoughtfulness of the host, the attention to detail, and the property itself. You felt like you were in a private oasis in the middle of nowhere, but in reality, grocery stores, fast food, gas etc was 3-4 min down the road, and downtown Greenville was only 10-12 min away. Without question we will be back. This home was perfect for our family’s Thanksgiving get away (perfect kitchen for cooking Thanksgiving dinner!), and we will definitely be back in the summer to enjoy the amazing pool and lake!! I would give this property 10 stars if I could!!

Really exceptional house, huge amount of space and very private. Pool and kayaking facilities great. Fishing also available although didn't use this. Host could not have been more welcoming and helpful. Very highly recommended!

This property was everything that we could have asked for and more. Every single detail and more was taken care of from the very start. The property, and I say property because just to say the house does not do this place justice. Just a dream place for any type of family gathering or vacation. Gather at the pool or kayak and fish on the lake. Then enjoy the expansive house with every amenity you could hope for. So many places to gather and yet even more to find some quiet time alone. If you are going to Greenville SC this is where you want to be.

Military reunion
Rented this property for a military reunion. House provided lots of extras that I’ve never had at other homes to make our stay easier. Excellent large property with all different things to do. Property manager was easy to deal with. Only thing I would have liked to know ahead of time was about the bonus property bc we would have preferred to all stay in the same house which wasn’t possible. But all worked out fine. Thank you for everything. Had an AMAZING welcome basket when we got there!! Thank you for making this reunion so easy for us!!

The house and property were amazing. House was super clean and comfortable and had everything we needed plus more!! Close to everything including super cool downtown Greenville 10 minutes away. Host Lori was great with making us feel right at home. My teenagers loved the lake and the pool, which were both AMAZING. Just a terrific week mixing baseball with relaxation and fun. We hope we are in the same tournament again next year so we can book again.

The house and property were amazing. House was super clean and comfortable and had everything we needed plus more!! Close to everything including super cool downtown Greenville 10 minutes away. Host Lori was great with making us feel right at home. My teenagers loved the lake and the pool, which were both AMAZING. Just a terrific week mixing baseball with relaxation and fun. This property and our stay was amazing! We were here from California for our daughter’s wedding and this was our sanctuary admists travels problems, our daughter in a police chase that ended in a car accident the night of her rehearsal dinner, and other wedding chaos! Our daughter, thankfully was ok, but bringing her home to a jetted bathtub with lavender epson salt and pure comfort certainly helped our circumstances! Fully stocked kitchen, comfortable beds, and other special touches made our stay one we will never forget! We will definitely be back to vacation, relax, fish, kayak and stroll the beautiful property!! Thank you so much for everything Lora!!

This property and our stay was amazing! Basketball fans enjoy Saluda LakeHouse
Four couples gathered from around the US to enjoy basketball tournament in Greenville. When we weren’t at the arena, the LakeHouse provided EVERYTHING we needed to enjoy each other’s company. The kitchen had all of the tools for us to prepare meals. We brought our groceries, but re-stocked as needed at local Publix and Walmart. The view from the kitchen and “morning room” put a smile on our faces each day. The outdoor spaces were fabulous as well. Dockside Happy Hour and evening fire pits gave us the perfect arena to reconnect. Our host, Lora, responded promptly and generously to our requests.
Downtown Greenville surprised us all as well. Great town to explore on foot with shops, stores, and trails. We are looking for a reason to come back.

A Southern Christmas
The SaludaLakeHouse was absolutely magnificent for our Birthday/Anniversary/Christmas celebration with family!
We had so much space to be able to spread out, the extra surprises were just fabulous, everything was decorated beautifully for Christmas, and the grounds were able to be enjoyed due to the unseasonably warm weather!
Great place for a large family who wish to be together, but still have your own space!! Very private, yet close to necessities..

Family Thanksgiving week
The property is wonderful. They had everything that we needed for the week as well as some extras to make a very nice Thanksgiving dinner away from home. We had lots of room to spread out, take a walk around the property, put a fishing line in the lake . Also many large spaces to spend time together. Thank You for everything!

Outstanding Property: One of the Best Ever!
In spite of 5 days of rain, this was one of the best trips we have had together. We are friends from high school, now "seniors", who gather somewhere each year for a reunion. The property and the special touches provided by the owner made this an ideal place for reuniting and celebrating the life of one of our group we lost last month. There is ample room for everyone to maintain their privacy when needed, and wonderful gathering places throughout the home to enjoy time together. The well-equipped kitchen allowed for everyone to be in there at the same time, or for the gourmet among the group to prepare a special evening meal. The location, while very private, was easy to get to and had great access to grocery stores and downtown Greenville.

Amazing Lake House!
We rented this house for our family to attend an out of town wedding - and it was perfect as our "home base." Between events we were able to enjoy the pool, head out with the kayaks, and fish. It was exactly what we needed and we're already thinking about when we could come visit again!

Great Mini Vacation
Everything was just like described. Plus a few "Extras" that made the stay wonderful. We enjoyed the pool, the lovely kitchen and fun extra toys like basketball, darts and life like chess games. Plenty of room to spread out! Thanks!!
