Exceptional

Everything was really perfect: Very nice and clean rooms, delicious breakfast, very beautiful garden. The only thing that surprised us a bit was when we checked out. We searched for the owner to hand her our room keys; although we knocked on the kitchen door we could not find her. The cleaning lady then assisted us and told us we could leave the key with her. Just about when we were leaving the courtyard, the owner came to our car saying that she is surprised to see us leaving without saying goodbye and paying. It turned out that Booking.com only charges the commission and the actual payment is completed in the accommodation itself. For sure this was totally fine for us and we payed our room, but found the way of communication a bit irritating.

Excellent stay at Casa Vale Del Rei

The host, Geraldine, is very friendly and made us feel right at home. The facility is quaint, quiet, beautiful and set alongside orchards. The rooms are spacious and are air-conditioned. There is a beautiful swimming pool outside that is a great place to cool off on those hot days. The host serves an excellent breakfast in their beautiful garden. There was a selection of hot and cold items. We had a selection of fresh pastries, jams, bread and fruit to start followed by eggs, smoked salmon and other accompaniments. Great place for a relaxed, quiet stay.

Lovely stay

We really liked the house decor, our big room, and the swimming pool area. The owners are very nice and we always had lovely talks with them. They were really nice to our son and provided great tips regarding the restaurants and beaches nearby. There are amazing beaches a short drive away. Will definitely return.

Everything about our stay was fabulous; the rooms and pool area were great, the location and surrounding orange groves were idyllic, and Geraldine and Robin were perfect hosts! The breakfast each morning was absolutely delicious, and we cannot wait to visit again!

Would 10/10 recommend anyone going to the Tavira area to stay here!

What a gorgeous place to stay, perfect for our 3 nights in the Tavira area. Geraldine and Robin are the perfect hosts, so welcoming, and the breakfast is KNOCK OUT! Waking up every morning and being able to swim in the pool pre breakfast, then heading out to one of the amazing beaches all a short drive away... heaven! Room was big and really comfortable, large towels provided too. The house itself is beautiful, already planning our trip back next year...!

To note, you will need a car to drive to restaurants and beaches.

A little gem in Tavira.

Loved the peacefulness of the property. It’s only a few minutes from Tavira surrounded by an orange grove. Geraldine & Robin obviously take great care of the property. Breakfast outside was a real treat, amazing food and there were lots of areas to sit and enjoy the beautiful garden and pool area. We stayed in the cottage which was absolutely charming. Geraldine is a very engaging and charming host.

Can’t think of anything I would improve. You do need a car.

Very good place to spend 2-3 days near Tavira!

Breakfast was amazing. Both owners are fantastic if you like to have close interactions with them. Very “Bed and Breakfast” style. It is not a super fancy place to stay but if you like “home style” accommodation, the place is for you.

Nothing in particular apart the parking that is a bit tight…

Besides the perfect setting and the absolutely wonderful atmosphere of the place. We were wholly blown away by the pleasantness of our host Geraldine and her husband. They were kind, funny, and had a great energy about them. Geraldine offers witty banter from the getgo which is hard to find nowadays. The rooms were splendid with a moderate temperature and a inviting decor. Would definitely recommend for others.

Charming, rustic, Portuguese country stay with exceptional hospitality and great location for beaches and town

Wonderful hospitality, so much character and charm. The owners go the extra mile on everything and really added colour and fun to our stay. A beautiful rustic setting and an exceptionally good breakfast

It was all great. The only suggestion would be to seal off the bathroom in the standalone cottage (currently a wall divider is used). But otherwise we loved the cottage.

Fantastically cute villa!

The property has a beautiful kept garden which was lovely to eat breakfast in each morning. Tucked away just off the main road into the main town. Literally only a 5min drive which was lovely. Geraldine was a fantastic host who really went above and beyond to make us feel at home. Shes a wonderful character! Very peaceful stay here. Would highly recommend! Thank you to all the staff :)

If we had to choose one thing. The taxis can be difficult to get after 1:30am so if you’re planning a late night make sure to plan ahead for a ride. But most places shut by 12:30 - 1am so its not much bother.

We felt like coming home every day... We looked forward to our daily chat with Geraldine....

We loved the host... Good humor ..... Intelligent. Good wit.... A pleasure to talk with her during breakfast ..... And the BREAKFAST!!!! Out of this world!!!! And freshly squeezed orange juice..... Hard to find these days... even in Spain or Portugal.....

fantastic Tavira hideaway

Beautiful farm house set in an orchard with a lovely pool and spacious rooms. It’s easy to get to the town and parking is never a problem. Your hosts are wonderful and serve a scrumptious breakfast. Thanks to Robin, there is an excellent espresso machine.

Perfect stay in the middle of an orange field

beautiful little hotel with a great swimming pool, many chill out areas and an overall relaxed atmosphere. every room is perfectly clean. amazing breakfast with plenty of fruits, egg variations and sweets. Geraldine is a wonderful and very humorous host! her tips on restaurants, beaches and activities were on point. quiet surroundings while very close to Tavira. we liked it so much that we stayed longer than planned.

Lovely laid back juwel

A jewel away from tourism. Furnished with great attention to detail. A wonderful garden, clean pool and the best breakfast ever. The hosts, Geraldine and Robin, have been running Casa Vale del Rei with their English charm since 2002. We will definitely be back. Absolutely recommendable.

Nothing to mention. The single bed in our room may need a new mattress but everything was fine.

Highly recommended for a quiet, relaxing stay in stunning surroundings.

The breakfast was fantastic with a great variety of fresh fruit, fresh orange juice, coffee/tea, pastries, eggs cooked however you'd like them and cold meats and cheese. Geraldine and her husband Robin are great hosts; friendly with great tips on where to visit or which restaurants to try. The setting is stunning; a perfect combination of tranquility, beautiful views and proximity (5 minutes to Tavira and less than 10 to beaches). The house and gardens are very pretty with oodles or charm and character. Simple but comfortable rooms. There is a guest kitchen to make picnics or simple dinners if you want to stay in at night, which was a great asset. Treat this as a B & B with pool and gardens and you'll be happy, The service is fabulous but limited so don't expect room service or cocktails by the pool (unless you make them yourself!). You'll need a car to explore the area but taxis (and Uber) are plentiful and cheap to Tavira and the beaches.

Wi-fi only seemed to work in the lounge and kitchen areas, not in our room or by the pool. One of the pool loungers was broken, but there were plenty of others.

Piece of Heaven

Don't really know how to start explaining the magical time we spent there. We stayed in this hotel, due to an overbooking of another hotel we had booked in - and we are so happy about this nice coincidence, we discovered a piece of heaven. I can only say that this place is made with passion, beautifulness and real love of hospitality. The couple/owners were one of a kind and the hotel is like them ! Profoundly suggest to stay there if you are in Tavira.

One of the best B&B we did so far! Geraldine and her husband were amazing hosts! Friendly and always there to share some tips. Because of them our trip to the Algarve was even better than expected. We’re definitely coming back :).

Wonderful two night stay

This place is so beautiful and charming, it’s really very peaceful. The hosts are amazing! Location is great: We got around with Uber, and it was around €5 to get into town, around €30-35 from faro airport. Breakfasts were a highlight - delicious!
