The complimentary loaf of bread was wonderful as well as the pantry that was stocked with essentials.

We loved the location. The homestead was so homely for our family holiday, we were able spread out. The children also had a play room when they weren't playing outside. The animal farm was also loved and enjoyed. We only had 3 nights in Lake Tekapo so we spent a lot of time sightseeing. The hot pools, the Hydro slide and the Juganaut were very popular with the children and adults as was the beautiful Lake. We booked the Dark Night Sky Gazing 2 nights running but both nights were cancelled because of the cloud, We were all very disappointed. It means that we will have to visit again one day!

We didn't have any complaints but we did think that some outdoor furniture on the grass area at the back of the house would have been nice. We enjoyed sitting out there so we moved the table and chairs from around the side of the house. We put them back when we left.

Great location, well appointed, clean and warm. Animals were cool for the kids and team were always friendly and helpful.

Huge house. Spaces for lots of people to have own spaces during a cold weather holiday. Fantastic fires, well prepared kitchen.

It was an enjoyable stay at Mt John Homestead. It's nice , cozy and clean. The kitchen facilities are surprisingly good - especially when I saw the capsule / coffee machine with free capsules. Kids loved the uninvited guests - ducks!! We fed the ducks in the spacious grassed backyard. Highly recommended!

Only 1.5 bathrooms are the only disappointment as we have more than 10 people.

Beautiful old homestead full of marvellous antiques. The house is massive, room after room of fun bits and bobs to explore. Marvellous private garden area with ducks, bunnies and a hedgehog, quite aside from the animal feeding areas (bunnies, pig, sheep, calf and alpacas).

If you take a bunny out of it's hutch, don't put it down, they take forever to catch again 😂
