The property was beautiful! We had a small issue getting in touch with the owner, but other than that it was an amazing stay.

This was our 3rd stay at this home and the views are just amazing!!! Dolphins swim by everyday, fishing from the deck is always a good time and the little beach right at the bottom of your steps is perfect if you don’t want to go to the bigger beach. Will be back next year!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Tuck’s retreat. The location cannot be beat and we loved waking to the sights and sounds of the waves. My husband and son loved fishing right off the deck. It was sometimes a challenge to get them to actually leave the house to explore the area. At first, the house reeked of disinfectant, but we lit a scented candle that we brought with us & the disinfectant smell was gone by the next day. Despite some minor inconveniences (no dish towels, no propane for the grill, no remote batteries, slow communication from the owner), we loved our stay. The house is on stilts so it swayed a little during a small storm that rolled through. I personally liked being rocked to sleep. The photos are outdated & could use an update.

My husband and I stayed here to celebrate our 20th anniversary. It was super peaceful and quiet. Marc was very responsive and replied to messages quickly. Even tho we didn't need to have the propane tank filled, he ensured it was swapped out by the next day. We fished right off the deck and enjoyed the calm little beach next to the house. Our pooch also enjoyed her stay. We hope to come back and bring the kids next year.

We loved staying at Tuck's Retreat! My husband and son couldn't get enough of the fishing. House was great and just as advertised. We will be coming back for sure!

We had a great time at you house and loved fishing from your porch. We caught 3 slot Reds, one 23 inch trout and a couple pompano and several small spinner sharks. We love your house and hope to come back soon and try our luck at fishing again. Thank you

This is our 3rd year staying at this incredible house. Where else can you fish off the deck? We caught small sharks, stingrays and other fish. This year we bought a crab trap and caught so many large blue crab! There are many things to do nearby, including a beautiful beach down the street, with plenty of shells to collect. Marc is very responsive to any questions. This year we got there and the grill was out of propane. He was unable to get out to the house to remedy the problem, but reimbursed us for the propane we purchased plus extra funds for our time and gas. Don't hesitate to rent this place. You will not be disappointed.

Beautiful location - a little windy but you can’t stop Mother Nature. Only complaint I would have is the master bedroom mattress, not to comfortable.

This house has an AMAZING view. If you are only looking for a beautiful view, this is the house. Everything in the house is outdated and old, from bedding to furniture. On top of that, the house has weird, old smells that sticks to the nostril.

Perfect example of its all about location, location, location! This beach rental is all that it promised and more. We had a very comfortable stay thankfully, because Mother Nature had her own plans for us. But we had a great time in spite of her efforts! This rental is perfect for staying in and working puzzles that are provided by homeowner and just relaxing. TVs in the living room and also the primary bedroom let us watch whatever we wanted, and many restful naps were taken. Overlooking the water from the balcony was definitely a bonus in this rental. We can't say enough about this location & will definitely book again! Thank you!

Love this property. Nice pocket beach at base of steps. Lots of shells. Can fish right off the deck. Very relaxing.

This was a great location for family time! We spent lots of time on the big beach as well as at the pocket beach. We went into Galveston one day. There is a small store for forgotten items about 10 minutes away and we found a couple of nearby restaurants. There was no spring break crazy at all! Exactly what we were looking for.

This was our first visit to the texas Gulf Shore. it was great to be able to rise each morning and have a front row seat to the sun coming up over the water. We saw dolphins from the front deck and pelicans flew by every hour.

Wife and I stayed here for a week. Very unique experience with the house being all but in the water. If you were any closer you would need a boat. House was clean and well kept. Kitchen equipped with just about anything you'd need to prepare a meal. TV and wifi worked great. Exactly as advertised. Will likely return next January.

Spent a few nights to celebrate our 10th. Read books, enjoyed the beach, and put hooks in the water. Great location, quiet, and beautiful sunrises. Easy walk to the beach. Very few people on the beach in January. The appliances were new, and all basic needs were met. We spent most of our time on the deck enjoying the views and even saw some dolphins.

Our search for a beach house on the Gulf coast of Texas led us to Tuck's Retreat. This house exceeded our expectations. Our family included several avid fishermen who were amazed at the ability to fish in the Gulf of Mexico from the deck. The pocket cove beach and miles of nearby beach provided hours of pleasure for the beachcombers in our family. The Texas weather threw us a curveball, but we were warm and comfortable in the house with everything we needed. We have rented vacation homes for 25 years and Marc is by far the best host we have ever worked with. He was very responsive to any questions or concerns we had during our visit. We certainly hope to make the trip from Wisconsin to visit Tuck's Retreat again!

Everyone who sees this property is AMAZED by the location incredibly over the water with a small private beach great for shelling!!! You hear and feel the waves, and the dolphins and pelicans say hello as they frolic out front. If you like fishing, you are have the gulf at your fingertips. Tucks Retreat is maintained well year after year and updated regularly. Just a few houses away is a smooth 7 mile beach fabulous for relaxing, fishing, and strolling. Marc is always a responsive host and makes our stay comfortable and pleasurable. Thanks for our stay:)

We had a great time here. Back porch is the highlight of the show. You literally sit over the water and can fish off the balcony Gorgeous sunrises. Beaches for long walks steps away. Great bait shop “Bait Daddy’s” 15 minutes up the road. Say hi to Donnie Marc was a fabulous host. He even got my computer that I left there back to me quickly. Can’t say enough nice things about our stay. We will be back.

Our family loved staying in this house. The deck overlooking the water was great. We loved hearing the waves crashing on the rocks. The house was comfortable and easily hosted our family of seven. The kitchen was well equipped and was stocked with nearly anything we needed to prepare meals. We definitely want to come back

Annual thing for us and it seems the seven days are passing faster each year. Marc’s property is the primo in Treasure Island especially if you enjoy fishing and a close connection to the water. We will continue to go at least annually, more often when possible. Folks staying in home adjacent to us kept telling us we had the best place - not knowing we have been booking it since 2016. Can’t wait until next fall so I’ll be looking for a second trip before then Thanks Marc PM

On the water can fish from the deck with a small private beach next to house. Public beach within walking distance. Enjoyed our stay!!! Caught fish too!!!

We had a great time staying in this house. Beautiful views. Waking up and walking out to the sunshine and the Gulf was pretty amazing. We didn’t want to leave. The only thing I can say that would have made it perfect is maybe a store a little closer. Lol otherwise everything was perfect. We will be back. I’m already trying to figure out the dates.

We enjoyed our long weekend stay at Tuck's retreat. The house is on the water and has a great small beach area between it and the next house. Perfect for small children. There were 4 adults in our party and more than plenty of room. in the living area and table. The fishing lovers even fished off the porch each night (the neighbors had a green light and were happy to share the ocean)! In the morning, you can sit at the table on the porch, drink coffee, and whats the dolphins. I do recommend bug spray as the mosquitoes were monster size (yes, bigger than Texas size). Agree with other comments about the carpet in the bedrooms. It wasn't a big issue for us as we always wear some type of shoes in the house, but could be an issue for folks with kids. Overall, we enjoyed the house and hope to return in the near future.

Had to get away pretty nice to fish off the porch and not hassle with loading up to travel to fish.

This was our 3rd year staying at Tuck's Retreat. It was just as wonderful as the past 2 years. I love the cozy little house. I love the location (although a closer store would be awesome). I love the pocket beach. 😀

The location cannot be beat!! We fished off the deck everyday. We caught a variety of fish, including a nice sized trout. The water was pretty clear, and it was cool looking for fish near the house at low tide. And we even saw dolphins swim by which was cool! The pocket beach next to the house is fun, and we basically had it all to ourselves. The bigger beach is a 5 min walk, and was super quiet, and had some great surf fishing. Everyone we met was nice & friendly, and the neighborhood itself is very quiet. The house is good, though bare bones like others have said. Bring all your own cleaning supplies, including dishwasher detergent. Having a washer & dryer was great. And make sure you stop on the way for food & supplies bc there’s nothing around for miles. Some things didn’t work like the living room ceiling fan, light over the stove, and hallway light. And the rugs in the bedrooms have seen better days. Overall, we absolutely loved our stay, the area, and did not want to leave!!

This is a great place and ON the water. You will need to drive to get some real beach access but it's not far at all to get there. House was in decent condition. Some boards on the porch need to be replaced and if you have a big group bring extra bath towels. It was a great time to get away and relax with family and the house is warm and welcoming. We would def stay here again!
