Beautiful - would definitely come back

Great room - very big and clean. Great staff Beautiful location

It was two single beds next to each other- would have preferred a double as we could feel the gap in the middle of the bed. Coffee machine was also not working

Magical, frinedly, relaxing it felt like there was no other place in the world

The entire estate was magical. The setting was so relaxing. If I had known it was going to be such an amazing stay, I would have extended my stay but had to be back at work again. Will definitely come back

It was average, but not somewhere I will book again

The staff were really friendly and accommodating

In short, I had higher expectations for the property considering the price. The building, while beautiful, needs some TLC. The mattresses weren't comfortable, and the water pressure in the bath was slow. Also, there were no non-dairy milk options, and the breakfast was oily.

Freundliches hilfsbereites Personal, schöne Anlage, sehr gutes Frühstück, sehr großes Appartement, alles sehr sauber, gute Lage zum Ort mit wenige Minuten Fahrt

Heel ruime kamer. Uitstekende bedden. Luxe uitstraling. Mooie tuin. Ontbijt zeer uitgebreid en smakelijk. Het zwembad is fijn. De omschrijving klopt helemaal.

Our TV in the room didn’t work,we asked for assistance which we got immediately but TV still didn’t work. It was ok it was more relaxing not watching TV

Very nice location close to Franschhoek, 7km or so. Great breakfast, comfortable beds.

Bit outdated interiors, but very spacious and comfortable.

Perfect location for visiting the Cape wine region

Fantastic breakfast served by lovely smiling staff, large comfortable bed and rooms, perfect location for Franschhoek. Nice pool, unfortunately not usable due to the weather

Um belo local para aproveitar Franschhoek

- Local muito aprazível, em meio a montanhas e vinhedos; - Equipe extremamente solícita e simpática, com destaque para os Srs. Johnny e Dorine; - Delicioso café da manhã; - Quartos confortáveis; - Cortesias no quarto como garrafas de água mineral, biscoitos e seleção de chás e cafés.

- Os quartos são acarpetados - o que, infelizmente, prejudica hóspedes alérgicos; - Por detrás da penteadeira de meu quarto, a parede estava com marcas de umidade (do outro lado da parede estava a pia do banheiro); - Uma das torneiras da pia do banheiro estava frouxa, necessitando ser refixada à pia; - Em uma das manhãs, a (bela) salada de frutas estava com um de seus elementos (melão) passado.

Perfect and would stay again

The property was on an amazing plot of land, surrounded by beautiful hills and lush green fields!

It was absolutely perfect however the water was a copper colour due to the pipes, but it was not a problem

Very spacious room, friendly staff. Nice breakfast spread and cooked to order. Quiet and peaceful

Outdoor furniture a bit worn and tired. The pool wasn’t clean for swimming.

Pool wird chemisch gereinigt - ekelhaft!

Sehr nettes Personal, schönes geräumiges Zimmer, gutes Frühstück.

Der Pool wurde chemisch gereinigt, das heißt: Man kippte eine weiße milchige Chemikalie in den Pool, der daraufhin für mindestens drei Tage nicht mehr zu benutzen war. Wir hatten hier gebucht, weil wir im Pool schwimmen wollten, und konnten ihn in der heißen Sommerwoche für drei Tage nicht nutzen. Auch danach hatten wir das ungute Gefühl, dass es noch chemisch roch. Unsere Frage nach einem Preisnachlass wurde abgelehnt. Das war der enttäuschende Abschluss unserer 4-wöchigen Rundreise. Deshalb würden wir hier nie wieder buchen, obwohl der Rest ok war.

Komfortabel und schön

Schönes großes Anwesen in sehr gepflegtem Garten etwas außerhalb von Franschhoek. Unser Zimmer war sehr geräumig, allerdings leider recht dunkel. Das Bett war sehr bequem, das Bad riesig, alles sehr gepflegt. Es gibt einen Kühlschrank, eine Mikrowelle und einen Wasserkocher, ausserdem Kaffee, Tee, Zucker und Plätzchen. Das Frühstück ist sehr gut, ein kleines Büffet mit viel Obst, Joghurt, Müsli, Käse und Schinken, außerdem Eier etc. nach Wunsch. Exzellenter Kaffee!

Das Timmer war recht dunkel und die weißen Einbauschränke passen nicht recht zum restlichen Mobiliar.

Geräumige Zimmer in ruhiger Lage

Sehr ruhige Lage nur wenige Kilometer vor Franschoek, sehr schöner Garten mit Pool, leckeres Frühstück mit Kaffee auch außerhalb der Frühstückszeiten. Ausreichend Parkplätze unmittelbar vor den Zimmern.

Zu wenig Auflagen für die Sonnenliegen (zumindest haben wir keine weiteren gefunden), Poolwasser war bei unserem Aufenthalt bisweilen etwas trüb, zu wenig Steckdosen im Zimmer und keine im Bad.

Could be better

We arrived the 6th March to 8th..it was a 2night stay.. Honeymoon Getaway.. Arrival reception very warm welcome! Flower arrangements In the bedroom and Champagne.. It was really very thoughtful of them. Thank you!

I was not too impressed with the venue itself, could be upgraded. The amount of money you pay just for b&b is overpriced.There should be more to do there. You have to drive to the village and spend most of our time there because there is nothing to do as entertainment when you get back. At least fix the pool area Lapa for cocktails snacks and live music or a DJ.

Wir kommen immer wieder gerne ins Val d‘Or. Sehr nette Gastgeber, schöne große Zimmer, sehr ruhig mit großem Garten. Das Frühstück sehr lecker und lässt keine Wünsche unerfüllt.

Fantastisch

Wat een heerlijke plek is dit toch, ieder jaar weer zo fijn en heerlijk rustig gelegen. De kamers zijn groot, de bedden heel goed en het ontbijt hebben we nergens beter gehad dan daar: heerlijk veel verschillende soorten vers fruit, voortreffelijke gepocheerde of gebakken eitjes en als kers op de taart, heel lieve vriendelijke medewerkers, dank jewel Doreen.

Lovely stay

Staff were great helped us out with taxis into town and give us a lift to a nearby restaurant they recommended - Monneaux. Food here was brilliant, thank you. We didn't rent a car here and used Uber to get about. Would recommend bringing cash with you as unable to find a ATM that worked in Franchhoek and needed for taxis. Great rooms clean and spacious. Pool areas was nice after a day at the vineyards.

Lovely location good value for money

The property is situated approximately 2 miles from Franschhoke, it is situated in beautiful grounds with a nice size swimming pool. It is Good value for money. The breakfast was excellent with a large selection to choose from. The staff were all very friendly, polite and helpful. It was very hot when we stayed and very grateful for the air conditioning. We would stay again and would not hesitate to recommend.

A little piece of heaven

Loved the huge bedroom and bathroom. Nice shower products.The bed was super comfy too. Excellent breakfast and lots of choice. All the staff were very polite and super friendly. Lovely pool and plenty of sun loungers.

Batteries were not working for the air conditioning. Swapped them from the TV remote. Could do with a bin in the coffee cupboard as i don't like to leave empty milk jiggers and coffee sachets lying around.
